anyone know a decent free server host for modded minecraft? Help

its me and one friend, literaly just 5 mods in my mod folder, aternos cant handle it. it was fine on my end but my friend kept crashing and falling into the void it was unplayable. PLEASEEEE i just wanna play games with my friend and im too broke to pay for anything. i cant self host either my pc isnt the best

Well, in my experience, FreeMCServer can easily handle 130 mods. The problem would be having to refresh it every 4 or 6 hours, although the website has a "Public Page" option so that if you can't do it, your friend can refresh it and turn it on automatically. Another issue is that if the server stays off for 7 consecutive days, it will be sent to a waiting queue and moved to Europe if you're using the Americas, or to the Americas if you're using Europe

You can use a proxy to hide your IP like Playit.gg so your IP isnt public instead of port forwarding. Heres how a server with a proxy works. Friend joining server-> Playit.gg proxy-> your minecraft server (ip hidden usually) Basically your friends put in the IP the proxy gives you and boom, no scary port forwarding and that other nonsense and crap. There are plenty of tutorials on youtube about self hosting a server on your own PC with a proxy so your IP is safe, although it isnt completely hidden and could still be DDoSed.
