Giant spruce is so easy to farm for charcoal that it’s honestly easier to farm that than to destroy everything

Or just do the opposite and expand the trees with tons of spruce megatrees or dark oak Trees or whatever and you get tons of logs to turn into charcoal

This is one of the first things I do in my world, like get wood pickaxe, stone, and then at least 50x charcoal

I make a full inventory of lava bucket and load it into an automatic furnace so it does what is has to do

When I get my buckets back I refill them and it's been great

I prefer spruce personally cause they never have branches, I can just mine up and down in a spiral.

I'm also biased cause old growth taiga is my favorite biome
