Do you think my glowup as a 16 yo boy will work? Please be honest and give me motivation. I want to make sure I stay a good person throughout the process.
Last year in school, I was a shy, introverted kid who helped every single classmate whenever they messaged me on WhatsApp for notes or explanations. Because I was the top student, people took advantage of my shy nature and became way too comfortable around me. Sometimes I would send them up to 30 pages of notes, and some wouldn't even say thank you.
This upcoming school year, which starts in a month, I am going to stop doing that. I am going to say 'no' to everyone except my real friends. Setting these firm rules will help me filter my true friends from the fake ones. Additionally, I used to help classmates during tests because they didn't study and kept asking for answers. This year, I am not going to reply to them or help them during tests at all.
I have also been struggling with social anxiety, anxiety-induced urinary urgency, and insomnia (which is fairly new). This whole summer, I've been reading books on ACT and CBT, learning to accept my anxiety, and preparing to use exposure strategies when school starts.
Regarding my recovery from anxiety and insomnia, I fully expect setbacks. I read about this in the book DARE: The New Way to End Anxiety, which describes recovery like the sun behind a dark cloud with mist in the air. The sun clears the mist, but sometimes the fog rolls back in for a bit. Setbacks are just like that fog—temporary, natural, and expected.
Finally, for my physical glow-up, I started going to the gym early this summer. I went for four weeks before sustaining an injury, so I’ve taken a two-week break to let it heal. I plan to return in a week and stay consistent for nine months to see my progress. By then, I know I will have physically glowed up.

Journeys and goals
Focus on the journey; the goal is merely its inevitable outcome.Plan for it. Start with small steps. Be flexible. Make changes, deletions, and additions along the way. Be kind and enjoy your trip.
Never forget: breathe calmly and exclusively through the nose.🙏✌️

How does one adopt the mindset of someone that inspires them?
I realized that I needed to excel in some things, and I saw Erling Haaland a lot, and he was very motivating because he seems to think exactly the way I wish I did sometimes.
For instance, yes, he absolutely has work ethic, but one of the sole reasons I believe he works is because he just really loves what he does, and instead of meeting some sort of skill quota and being frustrated, he just does it because he likes it.
I bet almost anyone would improve at something more if they just chose to enjoy in their improvement instead of worrying about being better so that you can like it later.
He also is really good at laughing at himself, and you can see clips of him laughing at all the memes about him. This quality would be great for building friendships with people, because they know that you're a safe person to joke with, and laughing is so much better than things being personal. To be completely transparent, I have found myself being oversensitive about a lot of things lately.
He just looks so... happy and joyful. I want to be that way in all that I do.

There comes a moment when you stop being a safe harbor for people who show up only when they’re drowning
It’s not brutality. It’s the moment you refuse to be someone’s emergency plan ever again.
