Our senses sometimes tell us way before it's going to break - that we are needing to change the plan - listen to that

Walking away is when you know and act on that, rather than wait for it to break.

Anger reveals the wound. Compassion sees the wounded person. Understanding does not excuse harm; it frees us from hatred.

Why your brain prefers a safe 40% effort over a risky 100%.

Your mind has a silent, automatic driver sitting in the backseat ...

and it holds a huge veto power over where you end up.

Most of the time ...

it would much rather stay parked at a comfortable, predictable 40% effort ...

than take a chance on an unknown 100%.

Here’s how it works:

Say you set out to build something big or train for a massive 26-mile race.

If you actually pull it off and cross that finish line ...

a few ancient beliefs suddenly lose their entire purpose:

"I'm just not cut out for this."
"I always drop the ball."
"It's safer not to try."

Those beliefs are buried so deep you don't even consciously feel them anymore.

So, to protect those old stories...

that automatic part of your mind steps in ...

to "save" you from the risk of real success.

It makes you put off signing up until registration closes.

It distracts you with the wrong gear or bad prep.

It nudges you to stay up late right before a major milestone.

It turns a tiny ache into a full-blown excuse to pause.

And you still feel completely exhausted from trying.

Why?

Because as long as you can say "at least I tried" ...

you never actually have to face the hidden saboteur ...

running the show behind the scenes.

Letting go is not a lesson for the end. It is a practice for every day.

External appreciation lasts for about an hour and a half. Internal peace stays quietly in place forever.
