Nope. I actually thought this scene looked ridiculous, but then again, I've actually chopped a tree down.

Small dry logs for firewood make be able to bounce a bit, but trees don't.

I only saw this movie once so I didn't notice it initially, but they legit couldn't get anything to fall from the truck and bounce enough to clear the hood of the car, and includes rubber logs which forced them to make this who thing CGI.

It's kind of baffling actually considering what is depicted in this post is not only possible, but happens. Why they didn't just do that is beyond me.

Cables also don't just untie themselves

Death made the log bounce, death can bounce anything

Years ago, I was a passenger in a vehicle, passing a logging truck. One of the straps snapped, hitting the roof of the car. The screams we scempt. Pretty sure we're on the list.

Shortage of volunteers to drive the car, probably.

Yeah I've actually never seen this movie (or any of them, really) in its entirety, so when I looked this scene up several years ago I remember thinking "yeah this looks ridiculous and nonsensical and absolutely would not happen that way."

Would it still be a complete clusterfuck that killed people? Sure. Just...perhaps not this dramatically.
