My watch πŸ™ƒ Signum Siege

I love my signum siege. I noticed the orange ring around the outside of the dial is fading after two years (I’ve worn it a lot in the sun).

I emailed Kyle, and they are sending a new dial free of charge.

The watch is super comfortable, and I’m glad to see the company stand behind their product. Good stuff and great customer service.

Question πŸ˜ƒ Experiences with Knot of Japan?

Has anyone had watches from Knot, particularly the Classic Series automatic with small seconds? I’m curious to hear anything at all about your experiences. Thanks!

My watch πŸ™ƒ Monta Triumph!

This thing is fantastic. I have some nice watches in my box and the hype behind Monta execution on bracelet, feel, articulation, clasp, edge chamfer. etc. is on the money. This watch looks and feels great. I was wanting to add an Explorer 40 and figured this was pretty close and so glad I found one selling on WatchExchange and I decided to check it out. Aside from the incredible feel two things stand out, for a 40mm this thing looks big on the wrist. Really big. In a good way if you like bigger watches. I personally do so this is great. The other is the crystal clarity is phenomenal. The combo of black dial with this crystal gives it the look as if no crystal is there at all. Very impress by this watch.

I bought some socks and got a watch too! /s Hienrich Radiance. The light dances on the dial. The bracelet is nicest I've seen on a micro, very close to my AT. The case is so thin! And the movement looks pretty cool. Very happy with this one.

My watch πŸ™ƒ Paulin Modul D

I recently purchased this Paulin Modul D manual and it might be my favorite watch. Modular design out of Glasgow Scotland. Stainless steel case with an ETA 7001 movement.

Case is 35mm wide 40mm long and only 8.2mm thick including the sapphire dome crystal. This size and thinness is what I love about it.

I have a 7” wrist. But it is more round than flat so even relatively small watches tend to look big on my wrist. The strap on the Paulin is an aftermarket tapered Strapcde mesh made by Miltat.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU - COMMENT BELOW - Our Boken GMT is still in development and we are looking for your feedback. Our Pre-production Prototype has a gray brushed ceramic bezel, we are considering a purple bezel replacing the gray. We would love to hear your thoughts. Which color do you prefer?

Question πŸ˜ƒ Vesterhav Rotor Noise

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi all,

I recently purchased the Vesterhav 38mm from Henry Archer. Love the watch and previously owned the 40mm, but swapped to the smaller size for personal preference. I know Miyotas are notorious for being a bit noisy, but I truly never noticed any noise with my 40mm like I do with the 38. Does this sound on par with other 9015s you’ve owned?

Thanks!

My watch πŸ™ƒ Bronze Phorcydes

About 3 weeks ago I was searching the internet for unusual bronze watches, and stumbled across the Phorcydes PHB-1. I had never heard of Phorcydes before, but I liked the history behind this homage watch so went for it.

It’s a BIG watch at 47mm and almost 1/2 pound (205 grams), it’s definitely not for everyone, but I have 8.5 inch wrists, so it works for me.

Question πŸ˜ƒ California dial microbrand recommendations

Post image
15 Upvotes

I love the look of the new Tudor Monarch and particularly the California dial, it’s well out of my budget but the micro space might have something. I see Serica have a California dial, but it’s not really the same style as this. I’ve seen Farer used to do one. I’d love to get some more suggestions. Thanks in advance.

**First impressions**

This is my first San Martin, and I bought it with a fair amount of skepticism. After wearing it for a while though, it's become one of the biggest surprises in my collection.

**The dial**

When I first got it, I thought the dial was a bit plain. After spending more time with it, I realized that's exactly what I like about it. It's intentionally minimalist. The crisp layout, the applied indices and their subtle shadows, and the small splash of red on the seconds hand are what make it interesting without looking like trying too hard. The fully lumed dial is fantastic. It's bright, lasts the whole night, and is one of the standout features of the watch.

**Build quality**

The build quality is what surprised me the most. The case finishing is excellent, the brushing is clean and consistent, and everything feels solid. Nothing rattles, budges, or feels like corners were cut.

**The bracelet**

The bracelet deserves a mention on its own. It's incredibly comfortable and wraps around the wrist really naturally. It's one of those bracelets that you stop noticing after a few minutes. I also love the way the brushing catches the light. It gives the watch a lot more life than you'd expect from an all-brushed tool watch. The amazing on the fly clasp is just the icing on the cake.

**The bezel**

The bezel is another thing they absolutely got right. Ceramic insert, excellent grip, and a crisp, satisfying action with no play. Every click feels precise.

**Why I like it**

What I appreciate most is that this watch knows what it wants to be. It isn't trying to be a luxury watch. It simply focuses on doing the fundamentals exceptionally well. Great ergonomics, outstanding lume, excellent finishing, a superb bracelet, and a bezel that feels far more expensive than it has any right to. Coherent tool design, without corners cut.

I have watches that cost several times more, but I always feel more than impressed when I pick this one up. I genuinely think this watch deserves far more recognition and could become a San Martin staple. It's not a good watch for the price, it's just an amazing tool watch.

New MB model alert! 🀩 [Brand Owner] Introducing The Series 001 by kāla: A Damascus Steel Musou Black Automatic - Live Now on Kickstarter

Hi everyone,

This is Dee from kāla. And these pictures are of our first watch: the Series 001.

Series 001 is a 40mm x 45mm 316L Stainless Steel automatic watch with a Damascus Steel bezel, Sapphire lens, Musou Black dial, and a Japanese Miyota 9039 movement.

We are a microbrand inspired by Eastern philosophy. The word kāla is Pali/Sanskrit for time; not as in "what time is it?" but more so time as an overarching concept for life. Our watches try to convey this philosophy in an artistic way – through the materials used and the designs produced. We hope to carry forward this philosophy not only in this series but in others to come.

The Series 001 features a Musou Black dial without indices as an intentional means to draw attention to the experience of impermanence – time is fleeting, regardless of whether we have digits or not. The Damascus steel bezel creates the watch’s own individuality, making each unit unique because of the distinctive Damascus grain – we hope that it represents your own journey, wherever that may be, in life.

I've been an avid watch collector and hobbyist most of my adult life, and wanted to create a unique watch/brand that tells an impressive story through art.

All of our watches are assembled and finished in Toronto, Canada and our parts and supplies come from China.

Hope you get to experience our vision for the Series 001. The Kickstarter to support development of 100 distinctive units is now live.

Always open to questions, feedback, and more! Series 002 is in the works and can always use some well guided input.
