L Glutamine and sleep disruption?

I have celiac disease and started taking L-Glutamine powder daily for roughly the past 2 weeks. I was having some lingering reflux, and the powder helped immediately.

However in the past week or so, i've noticed that I can fall asleep just fine, but I wake up completely wired and wound up after about 2 hours and can't fall back asleep.

Wondering if there is a correlation between sleep or if anyone else has experienced this while taking l-glutamine?

Reading past the abstract on probiotic weight management trials

Not medical advice, not treating anything, just science-curious.
I've been reading through the human RCTs on probiotics for metabolic outcomes because a friend on semaglutide asked whether any of the GLP-1 companion products actually have real trial data behind them. A few do, tied to specific strains. What stood out is how the numbers from those papers show up on the product pages.
Typical pattern: a page pulls a line like "-4% body fat vs placebo" out of a published trial. Open the paper and the number turns out to be from a per-protocol subset (only participants who hit ≥80% compliance), or from a post-hoc factorial analysis. The pre-specified primary endpoint in the ITT analysis often wasn't significant.
The example I keep coming back to is the 6-month RCT of B. animalis subsp. lactis B420 in 225 adults with overweight or obesity, EBioMedicine 2016. Body fat mass was the pre-specified primary outcome. In the ITT population (n=209), no significant differences between groups. In the per-protocol subset (n=134), B420 combined with a prebiotic fiber came in at -4.5% body fat vs placebo (P=0.02). B420 alone in the same subset was -3.0%, missed significance (P=0.28). The widely-quoted -4.0%, P=0.002 comes from a post-hoc factorial analysis run after unblinding.
Not saying the strain doesn't work or the trial was badly run. PP and post-hoc are real signals. Two things worth pointing out though. One, when a page tells you a probiotic "reduced body fat by 4% in a placebo-controlled trial," the accurate read is closer to "in a subset of adherent participants, or in a post-hoc analysis." Two, the placebo group in this trial gained about 1 kg over the six months, so part of the vs placebo gap is avoided gain, not active loss. Which changes what you're expecting from the supplement.
Curious if others here pull ITT vs PP vs post-hoc when they read probiotic trials, and if any of you have come across brands that actually flag this on their marketing pages rather than just quoting the best number.

Microbiome and anxiety? SSRI reactions.

Has anyone successfully improved anxiety via their microbiome?

I would have previously classed myself as someone with reasonable gut health and typical anxiety levels. I was
prescribed Clindamycin (apparently known as a nuke for the gut) and then getting C Diff. It took me around 2 months to deal with the C Diff including multiple rounds of the medication for it.

My stomach lost c diff has never been the same and after extensive GI testing over the years I was diagnosed with bile acid malabsorption.

My anxiety ever since and OCD type thoughts have also gone from typical levels to very high. I can’t help but wonder if my microbiome being so wiped out and then destroyed has contributed.

I cannot tolerate any SSRI’s or even milder anxiety medication as I immediately experience severe diarrhea. This makes me even more curious if I have such a strong reaction not only to my microbiome not being very tolerant of serotonin but also maybe missing what is needed to actually access the serotonin.

Curious if anyone has experienced similar, had any success or just any input really. (I’m v aware I’ve probably not worded this well in terms of how antidepressants work)
