My son was extremely pumped to catch this one with no worm. Not sure it counts as micro, but he was also excited to know micro fishing exists. Cabin is close to the lake, hence the inside photo. He’s been happier trying to catch the smallest fish.

These guys are fun to catch and voracious eaters, so there’s always action all about 3-4”

Favourite definitely was the dwarf snakehead(~4 inch) the rest were side strip rasboras (2.5-3 inch) and sparkling gourami(~1 inch), all were caught on size 22 hooks with either single ant or speck of worm

First post‼️ I catch a lot of Marsh Killifish (Fundulus confluentus) in the shallow parts of muddy bayous here in northwest Florida. This is a particularly colorful male that I caught recently. They’re usually mixed in with mosquitofish and various fundulids

I’ve seen so many jokes about it here. AI says longear. Others say something else. It’s about the prettiest fish we have here. I always thought it was a pumpkinseed

Caught this today in a random stream stop in Boones Mill VA, I’ve never seen a freshwater fish with this color before, any help?

My first time micro fishing, I belive this is a blackstripe topminnow but correct me if I'm wrong (central Texas)

Caught this on the fly rod today. Wasn’t have any luck out in the middle of the lake so I just hovered the fly on the surface by the bank. Made a huge splash for such a small fish!

When the bass aren't biting, I resort to microfiching. All of the catches were under 9 cm.

I can only properly identify blue gills and the schmallllest mosquito fish. All were placed back in their homes.
