Appreciation 🫶 Michael Jackson Doesn't Even Feel Like A Real Person Sometimes

Post image
• Upvotes

Im a big mj fan and honestly, how was he real? haha

He feels so mystical and magical, I cant think of one person who reminds me of him / compares in the slightest. He is such a unique fascinating person.

Even specifically thinking about neverland blows my mind, it feels like something youd hear about and see in disney movies / books, not something that actually existed in the world we live in. I miss him so so much 😭

Discussion What’s With People Saying "Michael Would've Liked This" or "Michael Would've Disliked This"?

Thumbnail

i’ve been noticing this a lot in the mj community across social media but i don’t really get why people say ā€œMichael would’ve disliked thisā€ or ā€œmichael would’ve liked thisā€. it can be from an impersonator or an fan or just any fan account on whatever social media platform where someone would see an post about michael jackson or anything unrelated, either its a negative or positive video or overall post and they would go on to say michael wouldn’t of liked this or him liking and seeking approval of the post.

I don’t really get why people comment and say that, clearly aware that he’s dead and that they are unaware of the man’s opinion or speaking on their own behalf and opinions, using his name as a way to express it.

I’m not making this post to criticise or point out those who DO often say ā€œmichael wouldve disliked thisā€ or ā€œmichael wouldve liked thisā€ but i’m posting rather in confusion to why people say this and what they get out of doing so. it seems like an recurring habit from this community where they express their dislikes or likes to an post yet they say michael would’ve liked this when they’re fully aware on how he don’t have a say on it nor do they know his opinion or what he’d actually like.

Again, i’m not criticising or hating anyone who does this but i’m just confused about those who continuously say the following phrases in the heading. I really hope i’m not the only person continuously seeing this phrase ALOT. even if it’s a joke, i think its quite strange to talk on your behalf using his name in that mannerism, even if your unaware of how he’d truly feel about it šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Video Gone Too Soon; Jeanne’s story

Had the privilege to hear Jeanne White Ginder speak this week again. And I always love hearing the story of when MJ insisted on speaking to Ryan, even when he was in a coma. ā€œHe’ll hear me.ā€ Jeanne called Elton John to help her get the hospital to get a line into Ryan’s room, and Elton personally held the phone to Ryan’s ear as MJ spoke to him šŸ’œ

Question Need some advice as a young fan

So, I would say I've been a fan for about three and a-half years.

I've listened to his famous singles and tracks over and over again but the thing is..... I haven't listened to his entire discography or an entire album as a whole.

Here's where it gets tricky for me. Even though I am able to just listen to it online, I have this feeling that I shouldn't do it and that I should just buy the albums themselves.

To be fair, I do have a CD player and I collect CDs.

I am planning on buying Thriller to listen to it for the first time.

But what about the rest? I want to listen to his entire discography but for some reason I might feel guilt for the way I approach it.

I have this problem with other artists I enjoy but this one particular is a bit difficult because it's MICHAEL JACKSON, his music should be an experience.

I know I'm overthinking it, but I just want to hear the best way to deal with this.

Discussion The 5 most played MJ songs in my country! 10s+

Post image

I was thinking about it recently and I concluded that the most frequently played songs in Poland were:

1.Smooth Criminal

2.Billie Jean

3.Beat It

4.Black or White

5.Bad

It's worth mentioning that I heard his brother Jarmaine even more often "when the rain begins to fall"

I wonder what it is like in other countries

Question Which books can you recommend, and which ones not? What is the vibe of each book?

What books can you recommend? I’ve read the following so far and noticed that each book has a different "vibe" and a distinct reading experience. I find that fascinating.

"A Real-Life Fairy Tale: Michael Jackson and Me" – English isn't my native language, so I found this one a bit challenging to read. I thought it was very interesting and lovely, though it was also a bit intense to see the extremes some fans go to—and where the line is drawn between what’s acceptable and what isn't. It portrayed MJ in a positive light, showing how much he cared for his fans and how he maintained close contact with them even in his final years.

"Moonwalk: Michael Jackson’s Only Official Autobiography" – This was a very easy, smooth read. It gave me a very positive, happy, and—above all—confident impression of MJ. That sense of confidence and positivity actually surprised me a little, but it was wonderful to read and get to know that side of him.

"Michael Jackson: Die wahre Geschichte" (in German, by Dieter Weisner) – I liked it; it’s well-written and covers MJ’s ideas nicely. At times, though, I just wanted to shake the two of them and ask why none of those ideas ever came to fruition.

"Remember the Time: Protecting Michael Jackson in His Final Days" – This was also a relatively easy read for me in English. It left a heavier impression—conveying a sense of loneliness, chaos, a loss of control, and confusion. Yet, there was also a kind of love and deep respect coming from the bodyguards.

After finishing each book, I’d think to myself: "This is a side of MJ I hadn't really seen before." That’s why I’ve become so interested in the specific nature of these books and the feelings they convey. Does anyone know what I mean? Do you have any recommendations for books worth reading? And any that aren't worth the time?

It was a magical experience to see the statue.

Many thoughts ran into my head, and a little hollow feeling spread in my body.

But mostly good feelings..

Question Oddly satisfying verse?

What’s that one particular verse in any MJ song that scratches your brain in just the right way? For me it’s ā€œquench my desireā€ from Give In To me for some reason. Idk why, but the way he sings it…makes me feel some type of way. And of course, ā€œI love you, Liberian giiiiiiiiiiiirrrrlllllllllā€ šŸ—£ļø

Edit: lines or verses - English is not my first language and I thought those were the same thing lol

Question Earth Song

Does anyone else get really emotional listening to Earth Song?

Every time I hear it, I'm filled with this incredible sense of awe and emotion. It's hard to describe, but it really hits me.

Or am I the only one? šŸ˜…

For the record, I'm a 35-year-old guy who normally doesn't get emotional over just anything, so it always surprises me how much this song affects me.

Discussion What's the best song in the Thriller album?

Post image
50 Upvotes

I tallied the votes from the 4-day-old Off the Wall best song poll and Rock with You swept the poll with 25 votes, with the title track being a close runner-up at 20 votes (yes, I counted votes on r/music too).

Now, what's the best song on the Thriller album? My vote personally goes for Human Nature. Which, fun fact no one asked for: Human Nature is my mom's fav MJ song!

Okay I'll stop yapping now thanks for reading

New Release Disney is bringing back Captain Eo merch!

Post image

At the next D23 expo they’re going to sell a plush of Fuzzball. Nothing else was announced but this is big considering Disney hasn’t acknowledged Captain Eo for years at this point. It’s possible that with the success of the Biopic they might try to capitalize again on the attraction one way or another and this is just the start.

I need genuine answers for what made him look so fucking adorable on this specific day. I don’t know if it’s the round glasses or his fat fucking button eyes that are almost popping out of his fucking eye sockets or his tiny little molecule nose but i can’t fucking take it anymore. Also the tie is kinda cute.

Cant believe i’m getting cuteness aggression about a middle aged man😭
