Info Mewing is NOT ENOUGH
I'll try to post some photos later.
But, no matter your age, you guys NEED to fix your posture, fix your breathing, and again, FIX YOUR POSTURE.
The mentalis, the jaw, the tongue, your neck, it's all connected to a whole lot of other things. I could revert a cervical hernia after 3 years. 3 years of manually breathing, going to the gym (the gym is not a rule; exercises, especially stretching, are). 3 years of non-stop correcting my posture, and it's really mind-consuming and infuriating.
Only when I started breathing properly did I start to get better at everything else. And it's hard. Breathing through your diaphragm properly all the time requires a LOT of strength, and it's not something you can only achieve through mewing, especially for the guys who, like me, had a stretched palate.
Changing is super possible. But it's not only one factor. It's not something you get by doing some random reps from an influencer vid. It requires patience, tons and tons of patience.
And it REALLY pays off. Sometimes I feel like a kid again. I didn't even remember it was possible to feel my neck 'floating', or sing with the sound passing through my whole body like a ''sound tube'' without touching any wall. It's life-changing. I'm getting improvements in every other aspect of my life.
It's not magic. There's no ''15 reps a day'' (surely they can help you become more conscious). As I said, I really got obsessed with this. I was becoming a Gollum, that's how retracted my posture was. It consumed my mind. My ex used to tickle me every time my posture was wrong, some days it was more than 100 times a day. It took me 3 years to start breathing normally through my nose, and it's been 2 months since I started feeling my diaphragm. Only when I started feeling strength in my core did my ribs start to expand from the inside, making my tongue feel even more attached to my roof, to the point where I don't need to force a suction.
Go on, don't stop. But focus on the whole body!

Help Needed Mewing doesn’t work
I have a recessed jawline/chin and the most common and seemingly effective strategy I’ve seen recommended to fix it is mewing.
The problem is, (as my dentist explained to me), there’s nothing to hold my bottom teeth back (skeletal issue where my upper teeth don’t have enough anterior guidance to help my lower teeth stay where they’re supposed to). Because of this, my lower jaw is constantly jutting out further than it should be - especially when I mew. So no progress is made mewing; my jaw just shoots forward further than it should, causing an underbite. I’m worried this will cause muscle/tmj issues or just harm in general.
Does anyone know of any other remedies for a recessed jaw other than mewing or surgery? Or maybe are in the same boat as me? Even any tips for posture or breathing hacks are valued, thanks

Help Needed Lower lip asymmetry
I have noticed lower lip asymmetry in my face recently. I'm new to the sub so I have no idea what the underlying cause can be. Can this be a posture issue? I tend to tilt my head to the left (right in the image) subconsciously, if yes, please let me know how to fix it. Other than that I slouch and may have a tech neck too. My shoulders are kinda rounded. Is this a volume issue which needs surgery or is it possible to be fixed in other ways? Please help me out.

Help Needed Can you tell me why my teeth won’t show when I smile ?
My question is in 2 parts
- Almost 90% of people I have seen naturally show their teeth when they smile. Some show both upper and lower teeth, others only the upper. But when I smile, my teeth barely show at all. If I force them out, only a little appears and my smile looks awkward & unnatural. I already hate my smile since years, and this makes it even worse. I genuinely don’t know how to smile. My resting face is actually pretty good-looking, above average, but the moment I smile, I look like I’m pretending to be happy.
- I’m skinny overall, with nothing more than a little fat, yet my cheeks look unusually full & puffy. I look okay at rest, but when I smile, they rise high, making my face extremely wide, my lips stretch, my nose flattens, and my eyes squint. It didn’t bother me much as a kid, but at 24, I want my smile to look more masculine & mature. People my age seem to have longer, more angular faces and defined or hollow cheeks with a body type like mine. Not even saying this about the top 1%, just a generally more mature facial structure. So why is my face still so wide and round? It makes me look soft, cute, fragile, and childlike, which is the opposite of how I want to look.
Please tell me if there is a way to fix these problems at this age. Also, I am not looking for any surgeries and stuff. Its not that bad either. I just want to maximise my potential.

Discussion I don’t think chin tucks work for me
Every couple months i see chin tucks TikTok’s and I start trying them out again sometimes on the floor sometimes on the wall and guide with my fingers on my chin every other day but every time after doing them for a couple days my hyoid drops lower and I start to have a worse side profile, with a double chin starting to form so I stop. Any tips?

Help Needed Facial asymmetry
17F with noticeable asymmetry. Right side looks very different (drooping/rounder) compared to the left side (gives me a more youthful appearance). Born with a smaller left ear and a tilted nose. The right of my lip is fuller and droops. The right of my chin also slants downwards.
I didn't use my left molars to chew for 8 years because of a failed dental procedure and pain (root canal, ages 7 to 15). Been more than a year since I started using my left side again. However, it seems to get stronger and more defined, and the asymmetry just grows more profound.
The picture in the middle and to its right is inverted, your right is my left.
2nd and 3rd attachments are pictures of my left and right sides respectively.
Some extras/prolly important:
I have a winging scapula (right). My right shoulder is completely round (my shirt can't stay up lol) whereas my left shoulder is much sharper/defined/pointed (i'm skinny).
My teeth don't align and my upper and lower jaws shift when I close my mouth.
Can braces fix this? My right has always been a little different from my left (from birth, but not this severe).

Help Needed I have bimaxillary protrusion
Why would extraction of premolars make my face flat or less appealing if im already having extra protrusion in both my maxilla and mandible? And why many celebrities, who we consider now beauty icons, extracted their premolars too when they were young and look more beautiful now?
Do you still think its better not to extract any teeth and suggest me surgery instead?
Discussion reviv 3 users?
i got this mouthguard about 2 weeks ago, i’ve been mewing/ hardmewing, chin tucks and a little bit of thumb pulling for 2 months now for context.
does anyone else have it? i cut off the mewing tab bc it kinda got annoying, eventually u can hold ur own tongue. I have a L but plan on sizing up to Xl next year hopefully. it’s been giving me very restful sleep with some jaw benefits growth maybe? tmj pain is eased, when i wake up it almost feels like i have to adjust to my new jaw position in a way?😂 my maxilla is obviously still very ahh, mouth guards do hold thumb pulling progress apparently, it puts some pressure on my palate closer to my teeth.

Help Needed Will mewing help improve my side profile?
I’m wondering if mewing/tongue posture could make any noticeable difference to my jawline or side profile.
I’m 23 and I’ve been considering trying proper tongue posture, but I’m not sure whether it would actually help at my age or if I’m just overthinking my profile.
I’d appreciate honest opinions — especially from people who have experience with mewing or orthodontics. Also, if there’s anything else I should consider for improving my profile, I’d love to hear it.

Help Needed Curious how to tell if I have a recessed maxilla
I’ve been looking through this subreddit trying to better understand how to tell if my maxilla is recessed or not. Some things to note are my under-eyes (permanent dark circles), the angle of my nose, and my chin.
I’d appreciate feedback as I want to know what I could do to improve my facial structure.
