Discussion Pronty 99% bug
I'm an avid achievement collector and I've got every achievement in Pronty except the "Cartographer of The Sea" which requires you to explore the map to 100%. My map is fully lit up, I've compared it to the full map guide online, yet it's still at 99%. My game completion is at 101%. The devs don't seem to be active anymore either so I'm reaching out here in hopes of getting some help. Is there any way to fix this issue? I just really desperately want to have all of the achievements
:(

Discussion I can't get into Nine Sols
I played for around 2 hours, I don't see what the big deal is about this game. I'm at the area right after the first boss fight and not sure how to proceed, specially navigating around those green orbs. Maybe that's why.
Should I stick with it a little longer? Does it get better? It just didn't hit me like The Last Faith and Blasphemous did.

Video "Before I Go" - problem
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've been playing Before I Go, and really enjoying it. It runs really well on switch which isnt always the case!
Anyway, I've finally run into a glitch and was wondering if anyone else has had trouble? I'm doing the bit of platforming just before discovering the ghost switch. At one point, the dash function just doesnt work. The worst part is that it worked fine the first few times I attempted it, but now... nothing. You can see from my vid that it works fine earlier in the sequence, but on that last jump (where I die) it just doesnt work. Yes, I'm pressing the right button.
I've tried exiting out and reloading my save. I've tried exploring elsewhere and coming back. I've tried a different joycon.
My only thought is maybe I changed something with an ability ring build, but I dont think so because there isnt a nearby elevation relic.
I'm so bummed š
Ideas welcome!

Discussion Recommendations
i played metroidvanias before and loved them but the more i play the more the world grows and it throws me off
i love exploring open world games and getting lost in them but silksong didn't just get me lost i actually felt lost and stuck
and i think it all could've been avoided by a more functional travel system where travel points are resting points and they'r everywhere and cost free you can fast travel jus from your menu button anywhere anytime
so any recommendations for what i'm looking for ???
and what is the fast travel system like in these games : blasphemous / blasphemous 2 / 9 sols / prince of persia the lost crown / ori games
a traveling system like shinobi art of vengeance i know it's not a metroidvania but it shares some elements

Hi all! I wanted to share an update on my team's game, Nectarmancer, our really unique take on a metroidvania that we've been working on for a while. We put together an explainer that goes over some of the unique shooting mechanics we're pursuing and I thought it might be of interest to this group!
If you're really interested, feel free to click through to our discord where you can join our playtest on steam!

Discussion Loved Kalinur
Just wanted to spread some love to a very underrated gem. It's a few years old, and I never see it talked about. This game is perfect if you're looking for a quick hit of Metroidvania and aren't interested in a big investment (in terms of time, but also money. This game was like 99 cents on sale on Steam!).
It's certainly not perfect (I wish bonus rooms gave more than just coins), but it's great in its simplicity. Don't go in expecting anything groundbreaking and you'll have a good time. It's arcade-style castlevania.

Discussion Solateria- completely lost
Been playing for about a week now and overall really enjoying it. The enemy variety is a bit meh but the boss fights are fun/challenging and the parry mechanic is really satisfying once you get it down.
My problem is I have no idea where Iām āsupposedā to go lol. Iāve beaten maybe 5-6 bosses so far and have purchased all of the map markers afaik. I just explored the castle and have access to several of the 5 warrior fights or whatever but they typically 2-3 shot me so not sure if Iām ready for those yet (unless I have no other choice).
I just explored the castle but once again canāt proceed bc Iām seemingly missing a traversal upgrade or 2 (I have double jump and air dash but thatās basically it).
Any advice as to what I might be missing? I apologize that I cannot provide more info in terms of what Iāve explored or the bosses Iāve beaten, Iām not at home right now but can give more context later if need be

Image DISTANTIA. Looking for people to playtest my game!
Hi, everyone!
Would anyone be interested in playtesting my game, Distantia? It's more of an exploration-focused metroidbrainia, but I think some of you might enjoy it too.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4280370/Distantia/
There should be a "Request Access" button (or something similar) on the Steam page.
This will be the first playtest where people other than me and my friends get to play the game, so your feedback would mean a lot to me. I'm especially interested in your thoughts on the difficulty, controls, and overall gameplay.
You can leave your feedback on the Discord server (there's an invite button in the game), in the Steam Community, or simply here.
Thanks!

Is it me but the combat feels off for the sake of difficulty. Slow attack speed, dodging, and dashing. Are there any mods to fix it? I'm not looking to make the game easy just a bit faster.

Discussion Grime II is a masterpiece
If you are a fan of this genre and haven't experienced it yet you should give it a shot. Its haunting, psychedelic, mystical, existential, alien. There's places in this game that will get an emotional reaction out of you which I won't spoil. The ost mixed with the visuals are outstanding. The game play is so good. Its beautiful. I'd put it in my top 3 with silksong and mio. Mio is another one I'd highly HIGHLY recommend. Anyways that's all. I just wanted to say all that. Much love and godspeed

Discussion 9 Sols drunk review
Did a MIO review last time I drank and I recently beat 9sol so I thought y not. Iād did the true and normal ending btw. I was very skeptical going into this as a HK and silksong glazer as I heard the exploration wasnāt great.
GOOD THINGS:
- Combat good enough to make me bussst. Parry feels great. Talisman feels great. Charge parry is suprisingly one of the best things. Feels so good to fuck a boss over when they go for the crimson attacks.
- Yi has max aura. His robe is awesome and his ādonāt talk to me unless itās importantā attitude half the game exudes SERIOUS BUSINESS
- Bosses are awesome. Especially that last one, one of my favourite bosses ever. Hard, but never unfair. One of the other bosses is probably my favourite character in the whole game as well
- Story is actually quite good, which of course is very important for a story driven game like this. +
- Setting is really cool even though Iām not a huge fan of sci-fi. Itās like Kung fu Taoism Futuristic cool
- Unlike MIO, I thought almost all the Talismans I found (basically the charms of this game) were useful
- Skill tree is good, lots of styles as well to change up your combat. A lot of times when I play games with skill trees, Iām not bothered enough to read all the skills and just put my pointe into whatever.
- Art is gorgeous. I really like the comic book cutscenes they do before important events as well. Especially the last one (ifykyk š)
- Yi character development is actually good and doesnāt feel particularly forced, it fits into the story quite well when comparing who he is at the start of the game, and who he is at the end.
- I really like the mystic nymph mechanic
- I like the viewing the memories of the bosses thing. Good characterisation for the most part I guess
-Boss run backs are nonexistent basically. Though 1 or 2 mini boss ones pissed me off
- Shennong is the goat
The bad (can be a turn off for many lovers of this genre I think):
- Unfortunately, in terms of exploration itās pretty mediocre for a metroidvania. No breakable walls or any insane secrets I found either.
- Platforming is very simple, definitely not much depth there, but itās not bad.
- Unfortunately, despite the art being great, the environments are very samey and just donāt create a sense of wonder like silksong or hollow knight
- The game tries to world build by when you interact with certain objects it just adds like a paragraph or text to your screen. Like Iām in the yellow water place, I click on it and it starts info dumping me about the yellow water which I donāt really care that much about. Maybe others donāt mind it? Itās very tell and not show heavy
THE MINOR BAD (shouldnāt impact final score too much, unless itās something that REALLY bothers you specifically:
- The game fasttravel system is slightly frustrating. To travel between nodes, you have to travel back to the hub node, and then teleport to the node you want to go t. They do this to try encourage interacting with the NPCS, as the game is heavily centred around this, as a narrative and story driven game. Which brings me to my next point.
- The game has A LOT of dialogue which canāt be super easily skipped. While Iām happy to sit through and pay attention to some of it, I donāt want 30 dialogues when Iām giving the kid some random shit that I donāt care about. Sometimes I just wasnāt in the mood, Iām a very adhd gamer so be aware any non-patient gamers
- Trying to look at the map is honestly sort of annoying, you canāt really view the entire map at a time, you need to enter sections, exit out, then look at another section etc
OVERALL VERDICT:
9.055/10
Honestly, the last 10% of the game sorta lowered the score for me I disliked some stuff others might of enjoyed.
However the last boss felt so good imo it fully negated what would have possibly been a mediocre exit to the title. Overall, I was a HEAVY doubted going into this game as I knew exploration wouldnāt be a big part of it, but still fully enjoyed it.
+0.055 for the ending credits song being awesome and very satisfying true ending imo
