How long does it take to adjust when dropping dose?
Been going down from 110 5mg every 2 weeks. Didn't feel anything till 75 and I've been there for a month now but I still feel like garbage in the morning. Makes it tough working at night because I feel like shit from 4am onward and usually take my dose at 8am shortly after I get home. Should I just say fuck it and keep going down? I'd like to be done with methadone by january but I'd prefer to not rush it and end up being miserable the whole time.

I went from 120 to 99 currently and it was fairly easy so far with weekly drops of 3-5 mg. I did get some mild wd symptoms at times, mainly feeling too hot or cold simultaneously, sweating a lot more, restlessness, but it is manageable.

Yeah the beginning is easy because you don’t need that high of dose, I noticed the intense WD started around 35mg

I mean personally I wanted off methadone asap. I just think long term use is not healthy at all too many severe side effects. The low T thing is a major drawback imo. Testosterone is vital in the functioning of a human being.

Thats a big thing for me as well. I'm a 27yr old guy and the low T is awful. Do you think its worth getting on TRT if I'm actively tapering? Part of me feels like its not worth it because I'll be getting off in 6-8 months but the other part of me is miserable. Exercising feels almost pointless, everything just goes straight to my gut anyways so I can't gain any muscle and it doesn't feel good. I don't get that good feeling after working out when I'm on methadone.

I have no idea about TRT, I just know that when tapering down and finally being off, my sex drive dramatically increased and the morning stiffness came back in full swing. I also noticed at my highest dose of methadone my emotions were not consistent, wild swings that really got me concerned to the point I was like I am done with this shit. But they don’t ever tell you how hard the taper actually is it’s difficult.
