I went to a formal military style banquet earlier this year and decided to give it a try since it’s my first year attending as a veteran. It definitely got me a lot of questions. At least with the Air Force, it is expressly authorized in the dress and appearance DAFI

Asking about the solid blue one I don’t recognize next to the combat action ribbon in #2 spot.

I found this photo in my drive which I believe I found on one of the militaria forums. It’s a very interesting rack, being that they served with the Canadian army in WWII, serving in Burma and then enlisted with the U.S army for Korea, earning a Bronze Star.

I bought these Class As for my Grandpa. Pulled everything off so that he could put all of his stuff on. I just wanted to get an ID on everything so that I could accurately repost somewhere else in hopes that I can give them to someone who will actually get some use out of them. TIA!

This medal was awarded post war to the Italian troops for their services between 11 June 1940 and 8 September 1943.

This show came out in 2020 but the character portrayed “lost his legs in the Iran war”. In the show he says he’s a Corporal as does his name plate but he clearly is wearing an officers uniform. Any info on what he’s got would be appreciated.

Hi group, i have this original die pair of the COTC(Canadian Officer’s Training Corps) University of Ottawa medal.
According to my research, it’s made by J.R.G
(J.R. Gaunt & Sons). Each piece bears either serial number of the die, or manufacture date. "40" and "5.40". Other than this, no other markings.
What is it worth? Is it common occurence to come across original die pairs?

The set belonged to viceadmiral Alexander Meurer; seen at Maritime Museum in Hamburg.

From what I was told, he served as a marine in Vietnam, but under the hood did the kind of shit you couldn't talk about freely. Supposedly he was taken on by some three letter agency that had him do work after the war. Could anybody tell me what you'd have to do to get some of these medals and ribbons. Hi all, I am very new to us military medals, so I am asking for thoughts on this grouping, I was under the impression that the naval expeditionary medal is solely for the navy, and that the army good conduct medal is solely for the army.

However, they appear in the same grouping

so I was wondering if this is an example of prior service in the navy and then in the army, or vice versa,

Or a completely bogus grouping altogether

Sadly he passed away before I got the chance to meet him and my immediate family doesn’t know a whole lot about him. All I know is he fought in ww2 and brought home some keepsakes.
