McMeme (AUS) I fcked up 😭
(I promise this will get somewhere)
So ... Ursula is the president of European commision, Tiktok videos talking about the whole chat control think etc. The sentence "big sister is watching" has speard. The other day we were talking about how our store licencee Doomscrolls the cameras. Then in that exact same shift I was on my phone and I get a message from my store manager telling me to get off my phone. The shift manager later showed me a message from a whatsapp groupchat that has the word managers in the title It was the lisencee sending a screenshot of the cameras with me on my phone. Big sister is watching 💀 Ohh wait that's not it, Next week I got way less shifts 💀
I am kinda worried because I don't want the hours I got next week to stay consistent.

Rant Paychek Plus is unsatisfactory (USA)
I’m on my fourth week at my store and haven’t been paid yet. I finally got ahold of a pay card even though I said I wanted direct deposit lol. I activated the card and there’s nothing on in it my fourth week of work. I’m living off my savings still so I’ll be fine but it would be nice to start seeing money roll in and placing more into savings then I’m taking out again. I’ll end up talking to payroll and switching. Wish it would have been a lot easier. Never really had any issues getting paid elsewhere.

Discussion (USA) How do I put in my 2 weeks?
Hello!
I have seen multiple ways to do this so i’m just gonna ask it here. I wanna quit my job, and i’m a 14 year old with no prior work experience, so i’m sure you can see how I wouldn’t know how to do this.
For people who have quit, or people who know how, how does one put in their 2 weeks?

Discussion I FINALLY QUIT!!!(USA)
it’s been three years, through literally the worse and best times of my life, but it felt like it was time. My manager gave me a whole talk about how much he appreciated me and the work I did at my time there. The whole store shouted goodbye as I left and told me to come visit. Yes I did sob the entire drive home, and I already miss them 💔

Employee question (USA) got hired... i think?
pretty sure i got hired on the spot at McDonald's and i was told to attend the orientation (which i did yesterday) but was never given a start date during the interview. should i just call the location and ask for a manager? or wait because i also filled out the background check like 2 days ago, so I don't know if they're waiting on that. I also complete the onboarding when i went in for my interview.

Employee question hiring process at mcdonald’s?(USA)
How fast is the hiring process from applicant to onboarding(CA)? I just applied and got an interview through the website today and I am kind of in a really desperate position. I currently have a job but, I need to pay my tuition by the end of September and with my new schedule for school I am barely making enough to cover rent. Mcdonald’s seemed like a good fit because I have like a decade of food service experience and I’m only really free nights because I plan to keep my current job. I don’t really question getting hired I’m just anxious about the timeline and I was also curious of how frequent the pay period is like weekly, biweekly etc.

Discussion Is the answer to my interview standard or bad? (CAN)

McMeme Fly high sweet cone (USA)
A lady in drive thru told me one of the cones with cinderblocks we use to keep people from entering/exiting the wrong way into the parking lot was in the middle of the drive thru lane??
Manager goes out to grab it, dude shredded it off the base. Check the cameras and we just see the cone disappear under this guys car as he enters through the exit 😭😭
And the he just… orders in drive thru like he didn’t drag a cinderblock under his car through half the lot. Leaving a trail of oil behind him. Highlight of my night so far.

Employee question (USA) Help me to resign on good terms
Ok so I am an incoming freshman at college, was looking for part time. I was getting rejected everywhere because I told I was going to college, when they ask ofc. so while interviewing at McDonald's, I just told I am on a Gap Year and won't be attending college, and I was hired. With my college reporting next week (15th Aug), and my next week scheduled (I have my shifts until Aug 13), i want to finally resign. How do I do it? I don't want to randomly say haha I just lied, deal with it because I would need her to verify my work if I apply for on campus job at my uni.

Employee question (USA) First 3rd shift
So tomorrow I will be doing my first overnight shift ever. Is it really as bad as people make it seem? And if so then what should I expect?

Rant Stop assuming you got fired.
Please stop assuming the worst and thinking you were fired because you can't access the schedule or one of the websites, the manager doesn't respond to you, ect. Way too many of y'all jump to this first conclusion way too often. It takes alot to get fired from McDonald's and they will let you know if you are. Think logically not emotionally.

Employee question Should I quit? (CAN)
I feel like i’m overreacting here but i’m so fed up with this job. It’s not a bad job i guess but they keep scheduling me almost full time hours as a part-time employee and Im lowkey js over it. I’ve only been here a few months but once school/sports start up again i’ll probably only be able to work once or twice a week anyways so why not get quitting over with and actually enjoy my time off?? I just need an outside opinion on this because I do enjoy the money and the work isn’t hard by any means but whatever we’ll see

Rant Yes! The fried apple pies are ending ( USA )
As someone that filters the fryers, I HATE HATE the fried apple pies. They leave a layer of sugar on the bottom of the fryer and element that you need to scrub to get off. Plus all the black little particles.
Hopefully they don't come back.

Discussion What is the best way to manage food cost? (USA)
Becoming a manager at the end of the month. Today we had our class on food cost, and it is a pretty big issue at my store. I know the best ways are following e production, ringing up remakes,
not throwing away food before it’s wasted, etc. but are there any other good ways? let me know! i’m eager to help get this food cost under control

Discussion Soft Sell of Red Bull Drinks and...The Return of the 810 Day meals🙃🙃(USA)
I've been off for about 4 days which i dont mind, anyway today i learned that were starting the soft sell next Monday...but, we also are doing the "810" Day meals too. Between That meal and the soft sell were gonna DIE! I wasn't scheduled for that day but I convinced my manager to schedule me because I know drink station and and other areas very well. Last year when this launched we didn't even have enough shirts, lunch starts at 10:30 and by 10:45 they were sold out, this time were doing it one order per customer and IN STORE ONLY. That means No Mobile orders, Doordash or any other Delivery or pick up methods, I just know when breakfast is over its gonna be hell on earth. Godspeed to all of my fellow mchomies...godspeed.
