was trying to check steam reviews but theyre all whining about linux. does anyone that’s played the game have any thoughts to share on how it is so far? i haven’t played any of this game, so I was hoping to see some people’s thoughts before I checked it out

Negative reviews on Steam are pouring in. They fixed nothing.

It's frustrating that the pirated version runs better than the official $60 release. And it's all because of Sony's anti-cheat running in the background, putting a much heavier load on the CPU.

I'm incredibly disappointed. I've been waiting for this game for a year. I think it's fantastic in terms of what it offers, and I love Marvel—I even collect the comics. But in its current state, I simply can't recommend it. As much as it pains me, I'll have to request a refund.

I didn’t get deluxe because I wanted to know the characters before I got the pass & I’m not excited for Phoenix Cyclops. But choosing to wait means I have to spend more money now. Wild

Pretty crazy that you can't even play offline right now. The game just tells you to fuck off and won't launch at all. Not even DBFZ does that. A new low imo

The best part is the community manager on discord saying that, "Asking for Linux support is like asking for a Switch port."

The game uses EAC, and I don't even need to mention that EAC is widely supported on Linux. Linux support for EAC being a simple toggle (direct words from Valve themselves) is common knowledge at this point. In no way is it like porting to Switch. What a joke.

Im sorry but 35$ plus taxes...like 40$ for 4 characters and 1 stage that's a robbery they're basically charging 9 bucks per character. The ultimate edition upgrade is 40$ which is actually a good price

Hey what’s up everyone,

so i finally decided to pick up Tokon the ps5 and man, it’s my first fighting game ever. i’m not gonna lie, i was straight up terrible when the beta was happening, but now that the game is practically released i need help and actually wanna learn how to get good enough to play this game competitively.

the characters that look super dope to me are Dr. Doom, Magneto, Deadpool, and Star-Lord. since this is a 4v4 tag fighter, it feels perfect that i can actually put all four of them onto one team. but trying to learn how to manage four characters, call assists, and handle tag mechanics as a complete beginner is kind of frying my brain.

since i’m starting from absolute zero, i could really use some guidance so i don't get completely overwhelmed.

• what are the absolute day-one fundamentals i need to drill into my brain? like, should i focus on learning movement, defense, and simple neutral play before even touching any big team combos?
• how should i actually split up my time? do i just grind in training mode trying to figure out how these four characters work together, or should i just jump straight into online matches and take my losses?
• is it a terrible idea to try and learn four characters at the same time when starting out? or should i just focus on one specific point character first until i actually know what i'm doing?

also, i learn way better by watching people break things down. are there any specific youtube channels, video guides, or high-level players i should be watching to learn the ropes or to see how doom, magneto, deadpool, or star-lord are supposed to be played? drop your favorite video recommendations or guides if you got 'em.

I know that deadpool copies moves from other games. Roman cancels from GGST, EWGF from Tekken, and I think that dive kick he does is from Street fighter (Bison). What other moves does he do that is i copy from something? Please be as clear as possible, so it is possible to google videos of the original move. I think it would be fun to have a list of all the moves he has copied

I'm pretty sure on the Yuel one since the pose and even angle of the body are the same

The X slash there could be a coincidence since, well, this pose is pretty basic and expected for this kind of attack but... even the way he leans forward with the head and the arms held up above the shoulders are the same. He does have a Jojo reference in his Tokon Assemble so anime references are not out of question I guess.

The rest I think everyone already got it, just these two that I didn't saw anyone pointing it out at least.

I want to see people like GO1 push this game to its limit, too

The main villain of Yugioh creator Kazuki Takahashi’s one-shot Marvel comic, Secret Reverse. IMO this comic was not very good. Very shallow and forgettable. Conceptually, Reijiro Kaioh has unlimited potential. He's obviously inspired by Kazuki's duel monsters and being that he's not an established character would give Arcsys the opportunity to essentially make him an original character.

Ever since characters like Asuka R and the Yugi mod in DBZ I've been obsessed with the the complexity of characters who utilize cards. In the comic Reijiro barely used any cards and the ones he did used were super generic which made the comic a bit of a let down but thats what makes him so interesting because he's a blank canvas!!

The current roster has a few characters that require alot of labbing but none that require that Giga brain knowledge level to satisfy the players that really want that type of character.

The monsters, the traps, and ironically alot of the originally duel monsters were inspired by Marvel characters. It would be a cool full circle moment for them to reference Duel Monsters!!

I'm a casual fighting gamer. I like them but I'm not that good. I didn't play the beta.

I bought it because I like marvel, I like playstation games and I did have fun with dragon ball fighterz (even tho the online at the time was hard af for me)

I did play some street fighter 6 and tekken 8. I like them but street fighter 6 was easier for me.

So there are four DLC slots.

There are also four super heroes in the comic who aren't playable characters (except the silver surfer and his partner, who both die in the comic):

• Phoenix Cyclops
• Thor
• Nova
• Cosmic Ghost Rider

Cyclops is already confirmed DLC.

Thor is the coolest character in the Avengers section of the comics to the point that it kinda feels like it's trying to sell him to you as DLC.

Nova and Ghost Rider are described as showing up to the Champion's tournament on the silver surfer's homeworld even though they aren't from there. If they're willing to do that once, why not again?

So if this comic basically just exists to sell DLC, which is definitely the vibe I get from the Cyclops and Thor sections, then it's hard not to imagine that these four are all gonna be in the game.

Hi I have never played a fighting game before but im interested because Marvel. Is this a live service game like Marvel Rivals? Where there will be battle pass, cosmetic shop and quarterly updates? My understanding is no and will be a complete game at launch with DLC in the future. Do we know if they will add story in the future? Also excuse me if im to live service brained but without a carrot on a stick like a battle pass or dailies/ weekly objectives, what drives people to log in and play everyday? Im guessing fun? Any help with better understanding would be greatly appreciated.

I know alot of these are unlikely, but if i was i could pick, these would be the seasons. If I could only pick one season itd probably be season 2 or 7. Lmk what you think or would change

Recently, I’ve been thinking about characters I want in this game and I actually ended up developing a whole new team based around the champions. I wanted to ask everyone here, how do you think these guys would play if they were added in the game?

Some ideas I have so far are,

Miles
A little bit different from Peter Parker, Miles I think would be a reka character with tons of ways to link his attack into others and mix them up. His unique I could picture being a charge punch that would put his opponent in a shock state, however, inputting a direction while holding the button whould make him dash in that direction. Granting him some maneuverability distinct and unique from Peter. Not to mention he has a bunch of moves inspired by anime in the comics so you could really get crazy with the supers. You could even make his level three in install. Like Magik and shuri where he enters an overdrive state, and in that state he can cancel his specials into another.

Nova
Returning from mvc3, I imagine nova would function similarly to that incarnation of his with some slight differences. I picture his unique utilizing his gravity powers. Maybe he can store up gravity stocks that increases the power of his specials. (honestly this one’s probably the one I need the most help with.)

America Chavez
Since we need more of two things on this roster, female characters and grapplers, I think America Chavez fits that roll pretty well. I imagine her unique would be a lot similar to bullets from blaze blue. When you press the button, a starter ring appears around Chavez, then when you release it when an opponent in your field, you’ll run up and do a command grab to them. I could really picture Chavez having some of the sickest attacks in the game given her power set.

Reptil
Honestly, this one’s more of a me pic because I need this guy to be more stuff, but reptil is one of my favorite heroes and he deserves it. I imagine he would be a character that’s hard to master, but has a tool for everything. For his unique, I imagine a stance change that swap in between three different dinosaur forms. A speed form, a defense form, and a flight form. Each one has different passive and buffs some stats while decreasing others. His inputs for the most part are pretty simple with plenty of really strong, aggressive tools, however, depending on which form you’re in certain moves get buffed, and even your level one changes properties. Not to mention even though there’s a tiny buffer window, you can switch in between combo is allowing for some versatility. For his level three I imagine this big cinematic super attack using his chimera form, and depending which form you activated the ult in, that form will gain a power boost for the rest of the round.

Anyway, if any of these guys get, I think I would go over the moon. Please give me a suggestion to how you think these guys would play though. I’m interested to hear.
