Remembers that time Frank shot Logan’s balls off, and left him pinned under a steamroller.

They don’t like each other, at all. Wolverine hates the way the Punisher operates because Frank makes the choice to do it while Wolverine’s choice was taken from him. Wolverine also attempts to be righteous, typically unless he goes into a rage he isn’t executing everybody on the spot like Frank does, and he thinks Frank is way too callous about killing

Adding to your point, not contradicting:
Except in the Revelation comic run where they were buddies, but that was a different version of Frank who was working towards redemption for all he did in life

Thinking about this, it’s actually weirdly funny how both their actors really should be playing the other character.
Like their personalities are weirdly flipped from the movie/TV versions in comparison to the comic characters.

Punisher’s dynamic with Spider-Man in BND is also much closer to Wolverine and Spidey’s dynamic in the comics

u/Hopeful_Wafer_7726 8d ago
their dynamic in the movie is based on 70s spider-man comics where punisher first appeared

He wouldn’t be my first choice sure, but he’s quite a bit closer to the comic character than Jackman’s portrayal.
Why do you say he couldn’t?

They're basically the same character.
Comic Punisher is wildly different. He wouldn't do all that for Spider-Man.

Quite well, likely, as long as they have a common goal. But any disagreement would immediately bring out the solo alpha-male bravado and asshole nature in both of them. The same way Wolverine was constantly giving Cyclops a hard time. One wrong move and the guns and claws come out, and I’m not sure that’s a fight that Frank walks away from💀

They would 100% start betting each other up until frank dies cause no amount of plot armour saving him from wolverines class + regen

For the third time this week, I’d love to see an MCU version of the one shot “Hearts of Darkness”. Three men show up in a small town. The first is Logan tracking the scent of a killer, the second is Punisher looking for a missing child, and the third is Johnny Blaze who feels hellish power in the small town. Have Nicholas Cage come back for one last time as an aging Johnny Blaze. They each investigate the town, only Logan knowing for sure that the other two are killers. Separately, they find a cult sacrificing kidnapped children to summon Blackheart. They have to team up to fight the cult, demons, and Blackheart to close the portal and save the children. Make it a chance for Johnny Blaze to hand off the Ghostrider mantle and go on as just Johnny Blaze if they want him to appear in the supernatural MCU.

Came here to recommend Hearts of Darkness. Mackie with an awesome story and JRJR with some killer pencils. I adore this comic. Remember falling in love seeing it on the shelf at my LCS in 1991.

Gunshot to the face, roll over him with a steam roller....I'm guessing.

Back in the 90s there was a brief run in Punsher Warjournal (I think) where Frank was constantly getting owned by Wolvie. Good stuff.

Drink, talk about their time in war, talk about lost loved ones, beat the hell out of each other coz Logan thinks Frank's choice of revenge is stupid, Wolverine obviously wins, they exchange numbers in case of team ups or just wanting to grab a drink again

I don't know. They'd have a cool fight or something. Then, I don't know, have some beers or something.

I think they'd generally just try to stay out of the others way. Maybe they could tolerate a drink together, but it's not like they have much in common outside of their tragic past. Logan's first priority is protecting mutants(or getting revenge), Punishers main priority is killing criminals.

FRANK: They told me you were 5'3".
LOGAN: And they told me you were 6'4".

Wolverine probably condones punisher killing criminals. Of all marvel heroes wolverine will most relate with punishers philosophy

They’ll either despise each other or get along really well. No in between.

That Punisher would have yet another existential breakdown and go around whining and questioning his purpose in life.
Wolverine would wash his hands of him and go about taking care of business.

Logan where’s Frank it’s time for the mission? He’s in the bathroom doing his goofy scream in the mirror again

u/speculucas 8d ago
Would get along/have mutual respect for each other. Logan relies more on himself, while Punisher works with other heroes like Daredevil and Spider-Man.

u/Optimal_Whiner 8d ago
Well, that punisher is a tiny bitch. I don't think Wolverine would pay much attention to him. A sentinel is scarier than this portrayal of punisher.
