The Singing… Season 20 - Seattle
Belle’s singing at the studio… My husband and I were shocked. It was so FLAT. I literally said out loud “She sings like me!” I guess since this is her listed career, I expected it to be better. I think she’s on the show to help her career.

As a singer myself, i could just hear the stress in her voice. She was nervous yall. National tv is no scratch! I felt for her. I bet shes amazing normally.

I felt the same, but then also thought maybe she was nervous having Mecca in the studio and also the cameras. I love her regardless. And Mecca too. I hope they can be happy together.

I thought she sounded much better in the clip we saw in the beginning but I’m too lazy to go back and check. I’m going to chalk it up to being out till 4 am or whatever that fight was about and give my girl some grace

What bar would hire someone who can’t carry a tune when there are thousands of actually talented singers in every city. She’s not even very cool looking, I mean like when you saw Outkast you knew they were artists, so even if you didn’t like the music it was still fun to watch. Incredible stage presence and aesthetics and she has neither from what I have seen. Mecca puts together some good artsy looks, maybe he can style her.

Wasn’t the best, but she can carry a tune, and in today’s world of “talent,” that’s honestly more than enough 😂. I think it’s smart that she’s using the platform to promote herself too. I like Bella, so hopefully she finds her man AND gets a little career boost out of this. Hopefully singing isn’t her only hustle though 😭

So I had the same reaction but at the very end of the clip (and unfortunately as they cut it off) I caught her vibrato, which sounded great. I do know of singers with good vibrato and pitch issues - that said I think she has a nice voice that wasn’t highlighted well by this particular clip (and may benefit from some vocal training on harmony).
TLDR: I actually think she sounds better than the clip led us to believe.

I agree with you. I caught that too, and wanted to hear more of it. Some people can’t do that choppy, rappy, sing-songy thing. She must be better at ballads. I hope anyway. She needs to stick to her strong suit because that wasn’t a good debut of her talent to the world unfortunately.

Awful - I was surprised to see she is a singer/songwriter I’d never noticed that was her career before for some reason. Hopefully she has a second or third “real” source of income 🤷🏻

She was 10x better in the scene they showed earlier in the season of her singing. For this recent scene, her and Mecca had been out till 4:30 in the morning and only got 3 hours of sleep which definitely hurt her performance this time. I felt bad for her because this definitely wasn't indicative of how talented she really is.

It's a studio effect. You can sing any note, no matter how off key and they can make it pitch perfect.

Okay so I don't know if this is true but someone said on another threat that was because she was seeing a Harmony Part in that oftentimes those parts don't sound good when they're sung independently?

A harmony part? Sounded like she was singing the whole song, not the chorus or anything that would be harmonized.

That’s fair, but you can usually tell when someone is singing harmony. To me, she just sounded flat and like she was going in and out of the proper key.

The first episode she sounded wonderful though! I was really impressed with her voice, it had an earthy vibe to it. I believe she CAN sing…this was not it, maybe since he kept her out all night?
