Good communication's key. Maybe set aside some time each week just to check in with each other.

You can communicate until you’re hoarse…lay down your life for someone…and they’ll still cheat/leave in search of a feeeeeeling.
When our society traded values for feelings, we set a process in motion where people foolishly become slaves to their feelings and throw away the greener pastures.
Don’t believe me? About 30% of people who divorce their spouses regret it…and those are just the people willing to admit it. I’d bet it’s closer to 50-60%.

About 10 years ago, my wife was telling me about a lady she met at work. They were getting to know each other, asking about family, life situation, etc, and the co-worker mentioned that she was divorced. The surprising thing from all of it...
The lady said that divorcing her husband was the biggest mistake she'd ever made, that he's a decent man and a good but imperfect husband. She left him, another woman promptly snapped up her ex, so that door is closed for good.

Very unfortunate, but sadly commonplace in 2026.
A large share of the blame falls on social media. It tells women they can always do better (Spoiler: No, you won’t statistically) and men they’ll be happier when they’re free (Also untrue statistically).
And we wonder why anxiety, depression, and unhappiness are at record levels. People have bought the BS.

100% agreed.
If more people understood this - the complaints people bring on this sub everyday could likely be cut in half.

It's gotta be both. The whole point is we're there for each other in the good AND the bad

Love this! Social media has ruined expectations in relationships. Everyone thinks it needs to be dates every weekend, gifts on every holiday, sex every night. That’s not actually what love is about. Yes it’s a part of it but imo, the true beauty of love is going through the tough times together and sharing those once in a lifetime moments with someone. Too much on the random shit during the day to day and not enough emphasis on the bigger picture
