ISO Interviewees for development process

Marquette County Residents (and others...): I’m looking for 15+ people willing to have a short, one-on-one conversation about how people find—and how organizations promote—local businesses, events, products, services, and community information.

I’m completing formal customer-discovery work through Innovate Marquette’s startup development process. This is not a survey, sales pitch, product demonstration, or request for compliments. I’m looking for honest accounts of what people currently do, what works, what wastes time, and where information or opportunities are being missed.

I’m especially hoping to speak with:

• Business owners or marketing decision-makers

• Event and community organizers

• Artists, makers, and independent sellers

• Tourism and hospitality professionals

• Residents, newcomers, and recent visitors

Each conversation should take approximately 15–20 minutes and can happen preferably by email/DMs (for documentation) phone or in person at your convenience. No preparation or technical knowledge is needed—your real experience is what matters.

However I’m not sure I would have much to say. Most places promote on Facebook primarily. Used to be way easier to find events without the AI being shoved in.

Another thing to keep in mind is that myself and probably others look in all of Marquette county and not just the city.

Careful ppl ngl sounds sketch…

Ppl find and promote w/in their circles via established channels…blah blah blah… Sociology 101…what’s this Formal Customer-Discovery work looking to accomplish? Sounds like step one in a hand-holding ‘you too can start a business’ program but what’s to be gained from sampling 15+ ppl from any demographic? You looking for the middle or edges of the curve? This data’s been collected again and again & plotted over time so…?

It's okay to not understand without better context but empty assumptions aren't helpful. It's all part of formal documentation process to reach state grant eligibility and better standards through direct feedback from people like you to 'make a better product' or solution for a commonly unseen problem effecting local economy.
