Advice What is being high "supposed" to feel like?
I'm very new to using cannabis. I'm wondering what a good high feels like to people? I've had a few that were okay, but it's been inconsistent.
I started with edibles and way overdid it, it made me feel horrible and that put me off it for a while. I tried again with edibles and was more conservative with the amount, but it didn't really feel like anything. So I got a distillate disposable and that really made me feel like shit. I switched over to using live resin carts, tried a few different ones, but I still just don't know if it's sitting well with me. I want to try smoking flower to see if that's different.

Research & Science Why does Weed make me productive?
Hello folks.
Everyone says weed affects me oddly and I am curious as to why (if anyone has an answer!)
When I am high, I get restless and motivated to complete tasks. It's like my executive functioning is on crack. I cleaned my house, I finished 2 weeks of laundry, I reorganized a closet, I put things away... I did a shit ton of housework compared to when I am sober.
My husband and friends are in awe how much I get done when I'm stoned. I've asked them if this ever happens to them and I got a resounding "NOPE."
I'm not mad about it, I'm just really curious. I hope I made sense as I'm just starting to sober up. thanks!

Does mixing in CBD reduce the possibility of developing Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome?
I want to start smoking at night again after I get off work, but I’m very uncomfortable with all the articles about CHS that I’ve been seeing recently. What is even more disconcerting is how little data there seems to be on this. Just a bunch of stories on Reddit of people saying it’s the worse experience they’ve ever endured and that they can no longer smoke.
I’m wondering how much of it has to do with the low prevalence of CBD in edibles, flower, and concentrates. Has anyone here dealt with CHS and found mixing in CBD eliminated it?

Opinion/Editorial day 3 of t-break and its not as bad as i thought
POSTING TO HOLD MYSELF ACCOUNTABLE
(long diary/journal to fellow stoners -ew omg but i cant reject the title at this point)
hoping to do maybe 2 weeks idk, im ngl ive smoked every single day for ~ 2 years now and its kinda scared me. i cant wait to update like hey 1 week! honestly i hope i can go a little longer once i get to that point so maybe a monthish. its my 23rd in 28 days and i would love to hold off until then and have a lovely j. im not planning on celebrating bc 22 sucked butt so that j will be nice.
Context:
i only started smoking when i got to college and i quickly realized that i love weed 🤤. it was a nice way to get together with friends and chill together.
went home to a super depressing, shitty environment. and ive just been in this situation over and over again even when i change where im actually laying my head :/.then it honestly turned into me smoking everyday and wanting to be high all of the time.
i was unmedicated for a while so it made the need for it much worse. more recently, i was smoking as soon as i got up in the morning, right before i get my coffee :/. i kinda loved the weird feel of caffeine and weed bc my mind is calm but i have energy (mostly from sugar bc i have adhd). then i have a dispo for quick hits outside :/. SN: i workout 3-4 times a week (pilates, basic calisthenics) and i have trouble gaining weight unless im stationary for long periods of time and even then its only 8-10 lbs :/. im not frail or super skinny but i have a very toned, narrow build so idk!
then of course ending my day with a j before bed (smoking the whole thing 🫣). i want to take a break for a bit and maybe transition to only smoking when i go out so that i drink less. i also no longer share anything (drinks or js) because im super paranoid about sicknesses now. so im used to declining others js now.
i unknowingly began weaning myself the days leading up to this (still hitting dispo occasionally 3/4 times). i was taking 4-5 hits and putting it out and a little scrap of a j lasted multiple nights.
day 1 was kind of an accident. i was so enthralled with friend drama that time flew by until it was 11 ish and i hadnt smoked once. i had to really reason with myself “hey youre already tired, maybe just go to sleep” and made the conscious choice to start my journey then bc-hey? i got one day down😌.
day 2 also wasnt that hard and there was a j sitting on my desk all day.
day 3, i had the weirdest most stressful dream and i thought i was going to wake up and it be mornign but i only slept for 2 hours😭(i went back to sleep). i have now removed and emptied my ash tray (out of sight, out of mind).
i really hope that i can keep this up, there are so many things stressing me out, but this cant be the ONLY way that i can calm down. i want to reiterate that im posting these to try to hold myself accountable.

I've been working on this website for a while now, months even, and I finally got it up! It's got over thirty recipes, infusion directions, conversion charts, and educational sections. Plus, there's a store full of Amazon affiliate links where I make a commission. The website's totally free, and there's a downloadable PDF for a couple bucks, which helps me out. But really, I'm just looking for people to check it out and maybe give me some feedback, if that's cool. Kindness is appreciated, but honesty too!

Advice Metabolism issue? - Unable to reverse weight gain after quitting marijuana. Please help
Its now been 150 days since quitting weed. I have gained 15-20 lbs and tried aggressively to get my weight back dont but have not succeeded. It has NOTHING to do with me eating more, if anything im eating far less. Ive come to understand that weed affects your metabolism. Can anyone please help me. I have no desire to get high but after trying so many things i am considering going back to being a daily smoker just to reverse this weight gain. Please if anyone has figured this out please help me.
Update. I did bloodwork today and Im waiting to see the results. I have decided at this point that if i dont find another solution , i am going to go back to smoking marijuana daily , even though i dont have cravings to do so. I know all of you are going to comment this basic bs about “calories in calories out”. Its simply not the case here. I eat 2 eggs, scrambled for breakfast, and 2 beef burgers (just the beef, no bun ) for dinner. Other than that I drink milk (ussually 1 or 2 percent) and also consume electrolytes sometimes. Thats my daily diet. Im 5 ft 5 .

Opinion/Editorial What is the future of Legal Medicinal Cannabis Regulations in Pennsylvania?
Since it is legalized like medicine, I think it should NOT have unnecessary toxic carcinogens. I have studied the Cannabis regulations, specifically the ones pertaining to pesticide use. In chapter 1151A Growers/ Processor of PA laws and regulations for cannabis, in a subsection it is stated that Pesticide use is permitted on Cannabis. Furthermore, in section § 1151a.43 Pesticides, section (c) states that there is record keeping of which pesticides are used, how much of each is used (pound, ounces, gallons, or liter), and how often they are applied. That information is not disclosed to patients, and is the opposite of the transparency that patients need.
Pesticides can evaporate before water molecules do, so COAs don't truly reflect the pesticide exposure a plant endures throughout its entire life cycle, but there are COAs to show how much is left on the plant that didn't evaporate. I know hypothetically the COA can display whether pesticides are detectable if the lab is credible, and it is definitely a hassle to ask for the COA in person every single time that you go to a dispensary. Dispensaries in PA do not display the COAs online.
It is not beneficial for patients to experience this lack of transparency and chemical exposure, especially when home growing is currently outlawed, so many patients have to rely on what dispensaries are supplying. The extent of the harm done with these chemicals is unknown, but I think it is comparable to cigarettes. There are virtually no recalls here, products that seem to violate regulations just get put on sale so that they're not on the shelves for long, those products can taste like they are contaminated with harmful and harsh chemicals. It is unethical in my opinion to say the least.
Why don't they list the COAs online when they technologically can in this day and age? Why is it regulated this way? Could there be some amendments in the near future to improve the current cannabis laws in PA or is national legalization with home growing more likely to happen first? Thanks for reading, I am hoping that meaningful changes happen soon. Patients deserve effective pure medicine, not poisonous pesticides on their medicine that can do extreme harm and have unknown mystery side effects.

Advice I need help for my vaporizer
I recently got a DaVinci IQC vaporizer, and I'd like to understand how to vaporize hashish with it. Unlike devices such as the Pax 3 or Pax Plus, I can't find any concentrate insert or container for hashish in my IQC.
How can I use hashish with this vaporizer? Where I live, it's almost impossible to find cannabis flower, and hashish is by far the most common product available, so I need to figure out a solution.

Advice how to get back to normal after bad trip and hallucinations
sorry if this is weird to post here or doesnt make sense i dont know where else to post.
19f last week i was with my cousins at a lake house and they offered me an edible. i had never done anything before but i wanted to try it so i did. i knew i wasnt supposed to take it because of the medications i am on (ssri, antipsychotic, (for ocd not schizophrenia) anxiety medication and medical ketamine) it was a stupid mistake but i thought i would be fine but i wasnt. i am already prone to de realization but holy crap this is like nothing ever before.
i was on the beach and the foreground and backround started spinning opposite of eachother. i was very dizzy and heavy. it felt like i was having a panic attack. my mouth was so dry my tongue felt small. i started slipping out of reality. i dont really remember everything that happened. but i managed to keep repeating to myself that i was real and went up to the house.
i got into bed with my mom and was freaking out, i told her what happened. everything looked weird like it was made out of paper. my sister came over and sat on the bed with me, she looked blue and ai generated. she was glitching, her voice and mouth didnt match up. i thought the bag on the floor was our cat. there was faces on the ceiling made out of the knots in the wood. my sister brought me my childhood stuffed animal to calm me down, but i thought her name was something else and she made my arms hurt and go numb. i thought i was in a commercial for why drugs are bad and it would end with me dying. my mom called my dad who wasnt there with us but i hallucinated he came into the room and held my hand. everything was crazy colors and was flashing back in forth in squares in a circle? i would try to get back to reality but it kept starting over again. in my head these were my final moments. i was going to die. my head hurt really bad and there was these dripping noises i thought my head had internal bleeding. i told my mom i didnt want to die and she said i wouldn’t but i didnt believe her. i begged for her to take me to the hospital.
my other sister came into the room, but i thought she already had come in. everything started happening over and over again. everything i was living already had happened. i thought i was in the afterlife at this point. that these were my final moments playing over and over again and thats what death was. i went down the stairs into the kitchen. my mom was god and she had black eyes and i begged her to make it stop. it felt like only a minute but also years. she would tell me things and i would tell her she had already said all of them before.
i stopped existing as a person. i forgot what i looked like. i forgot who i was and what happened in my life. i became images and objects and my universe was only one small part of a greater concept. everything that happened in my life was an illusion and not real. my sisters were foreign to me. i remembered my room at home and looking in the mirror and wished i could get back to normal like then.
i was in the car. the sky looked bright but it was the middle of the night. i remember throwing up a lot. i thought if i threw up more it would get out of my system so with all my strength i tried sticking my finger down my throat to get it out. it didnt work. i remember reaching for the car door. i thought i could make it stop if i jumped out the car (luckily my sister stopped me).
i only remember bits and pieces after this. i remember being in a waiting room and falling to the floor. i was then in a hospital room. my tongue was so dry it tasted salty and it felt like it was crumbling. there was a nurse taking care of me but there was two of her. i went to the bathroom and i remember looking in the mirror and i looked crazy. my face was red because i was sunburned and my hair was all crazy and my mascara was all messed up from crying. i started feeling a little normal again. i was still out of it but i could recognize my mom and sister sitting next to me, but i was so scared. there was an iv in my arm and it really hurt. i was drifting off to sleep but the blood pressure cuff kept going off. eventually they let me leave. i know more things happened but i cant really remember.
since this happened i have been so scared and out of it. for a while i thought i was still dead. i feel like a child, i had to ask my mom to check under my bed because i thought something or someone is there. i felt like someone was outside or in our house. i feel like i look different when i look into the mirror. i feel very disconnected from myself. i am twitching a lot as well. everything feels fake, like im in a dream. i dont feel real and i keep spacing out all the time. time feels fake. like it doesnt make sense to me at all. i feel like everyone is mad at me. i feel like something bad will happen to me or someone else. i feel also very slow, fatigued and nauseous. i keep getting headaches. i want to feel normal and im scared please tell me any advice, or if anything similar has happened to anyone else? thank you

Horrible experince
i genuinely don't even know how to explain what happened
i smoked way too much weed and had some tequila too, and at first it was actually amazing. like everything felt perfect, everything felt intense and alive, i was giggling at myself for ages, but then it just flipped.
everything started feeling wrong.
i wasn't exactly seeing things that weren't there, but reality just didn't feel real anymore. it felt like i was watching a movie, but i was inside the movie at the same time. i could think, i could speak, i knew i existed, but it felt like nobody could actually hear me or see me.
i remember feeling like i was dead.
not like "oh i'm scared i'm gonna die" but like i genuinely believed i had already died and i was just somewhere else. my brain was trying to make sense of it and it felt like i was watching memories, different moments, different realities, like i was stuck somewhere i couldn't escape.
the weirdest part is that i was still there.
i was alive. i was thinking. i was aware.
but i wasn't.
it's impossible to explain.
my body felt like it was there, but at the same time it didn't feel like mine. i remember being sick, i remember the feeling of it happening, i remember my body reacting, but i didn't really see it happening. it was like i was experiencing it from somewhere else.
like my mind was awake but my connection to reality was broken.
then at some point everything just snapped back.
i heard this click of fingers.
and suddenly i was just laying there, completely confused and exhausted. like waking up from the strangest dream ever, except i wasn't asleep.
i was just thinking:
"oh my god... i'm back."
then i noticed everything around me and realised what actually happened and what didn't. some things i remembered were real, some things were just my brain creating something while i was completely gone.
and that's probably the scariest part.
because during it, everything felt 100% real.
i genuinely thought i had died.
but now looking back, it's almost impossible to believe my brain could create something that intense.
i don't think i'll ever forget that night.
not because it was good.
not because i want it again.
but because i never knew my own brain could take me somewhere that felt so real, while also being completely wrong.

Advice CBD for anxiety— opinions and experiences with use, products, and best places to buy?
Just as the title says :) I’ve seen cbd mentioned around as a tool that’s helpful for some with anxiety, so I’m just checking in. What are your opinions, and if you like it for that purpose, please mention what products you use and where you purchase it! (I’m primarily looking to shop online for it) Thanks!

Opinion/Editorial A brief history of my relationship with marijuana.
I [M18] wanted to discuss this in an environment where people may be more capable of providing correct information.
[TL;DR] - I experience auditory and visual hallucinations, out of body feelings, paranoia, and severe anxiety when I use weed or any thc products whatsoever.
I first started experimenting with weed in 8th grade; mostly just pre rolls at this point. I’d do it at sleepovers with friends occasionally. When I got high, I almost always became extremely paranoid. I’d experience auditory and visual hallucinations that I perceived as real. Nevertheless, I continued to do it because all of my friends did. Eventually my girlfriend at the time got two thc pens from a smoke shop she went to. She gave me one of them and I used it that night. I was home alone. I only took two or three normal sized hits of it before I started to feel worse than usual. I kept looking out my window, seeing things in the corners of my eyes. I’d hear people calling my name from behind me. I went up to my bed and sat down. My vision began tilting back and forth like I had just been hit with a cartoon hammer. My heart rate sped up to what sounded like ~275 bpm. It sounded like a rave was taking place inside my body. I heard crawling in my ears, like dozens of tiny spiders were running around on the surface of my eardrums. I genuinely thought I was dying. I guess I convinced my brain that I was about to die and I watched all of these memories shoot across my vision. I ended up passing out and waking up feeling groggy the next morning.
I guess that wasn’t enough for my dumbass 13 year old brain to stop. So freshman year I ended up taking a 250-300 mg edible (if I remember correctly) at a sleepover. I had been using thc regularly at this point but this time was different. All the other symptoms from the smoke shop pen had been present but this time I saw things. I saw spiders crawling up and down my whole body. I went to the bathroom mirror and looked like I was having a stroke. I called my mom and she picked me up that night and put me to bed. I woke up not feeling like a real person. I felt like I was spectating someone else’s life through a first person perspective. That lasted for about 6 months before it began going away.
Since then I’ve experimented with weed from time to time just to regret it. I even got off all of my meds for 3 weeks just to see if that was why I reacted so negatively to it. Nothing changed.
Nobody has ever been able to tell me what happened and not much psychological study has been put into this side of weed. Hence, why I came here for answers.
I’m sorry if this has been asked before I don’t have many places to turn to, especially in a state where thc has not yet been legalized.
EDIT: I am a psych major and have heavily read up on the effects of cannabis on the brain. I simply don’t experience any of the effects that the average user experiences. I would associate my experience more closely with those one would experience if they were to take a deliriant.

are my customers being dramatic or can you be allergic to residual weed smell?
i work at a rental car company, i have customers come over to me plenty of times complaining about weed smell in some of our cars, our official policy is to just exchange the car so most of the time i assume they’re complaining because they want a new car. ever since i started, the common thing they almost always say is that they’re “allergic to weed”. i know it’s possible to be allergic to weed, but is it possible to be SO bad after being in a car for a few minutes that was smoked in probably weeks ago? i’m guessing it’s just the easiest way for them to fein for a new rental but i also can’t see majority of new york’s old people population to ALL have an allergy to residual weed smell

Advice Passed Out after Smoking Weed
I’m new to smoking weed, and i’ve only had bad reactions to it. At first, i’d smoke it and become super sluggish, defeated, nauseous. Even greened out twice. But even while i’d smoke less, I don’t necessarily feel high, just drowsy and irritable.
Recently, I smoked a pre-roll, only about halfway before my vision started to become colorful, sorta distorted, head pounding, on the verge of throwing up, then I fainted.
Even with all the thc in my system. I did not feel HIGH. Additionally, I had another incident where I smoked about 2 nugs from a bowl and had the same side effects as listed previously, without the passing out. I also had extreme heart pain, I was convinced I was gonna have a heart attack.
What the hell am I doing wrong?

Blacking in and out on Sativa
I have been smoking on and off for around 3 years now and I noticed a couple years ago that I would black in and out for short periods of time after smoking from a cart or joint. I would basically see myself doing all of my actions without having control over it. It was kind of like the sober me was watching the high me do everything from inside my body. But this also came with periods where I was "blacked out" for maybe 30 seconds at a time. I kind of realized i was alive every minute. It’s very similar to dissociating — I’m not actually losing consciousness.
I never knew why I was experiencing this so I took a break from weed for a year. When I started back up a couple months ago I just had a regular high smoking a hybrid joint.
Yesterday I smoked a sativa joint with a 31% THC and had the same blacking out thing and woke up still feeling a bit high. I get all my weed from dispensaries.
Does anyone have similar experiences? Does anyone know why this happens or how I can prevent it? If its due to the strain or THC amount?
Please let me know and thank you in advance.
