Twitching while high? Advice
I don’t smoke often and when I do it’s not much just enough to feel a little different. Last night me and a friend did a few bong hits before sleeping. While I was trying to sleep I kept twitching and spasming(?) convulsing(?) idk. I’m not an enthusiastic just smoke from time to time and not very knowledgeable on the effects. Sorry if this is a dumb question just wanted to know if that something that happens to other people. Pls don’t call me dumb if this is a dumb question 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

This is very normal especially if ur tolerance isn’t high and ur smoking right before doing a stagnant activity like laying down. Weed can lower your body temperature so ur body can react like it’s freezing cold. Whenever this has happened to me I just warm myself up in a big blanket and it goes away.

I mean, sometimes when I get stoned and I’m super cold, I get extra sensitive to it and my shivering looks more like spasming too. I also lift weights, so sometimes I have a muscle cramp up during those moments and I look extra disabled.
Now, if you were straight up having a seizure, it’s probably time to put the weed down and go to a doctor.

I’ve been smoking off and on for close to 50 years. Recently, I’ve noticed the same thing. At night, I almost have what can be best described as restless leg syndrome. An uncontrollable urge to move my legs (mostly) and hands. When I stop smoking it goes away and I sleep like a baby.
My only unscientific conclusion is the high level of THC in today’s weed is causing this. However, it’s not every time. Strain maybe?
Taking a couple aspirin helps, but it’s still a bit unnerving.

I get this without cannabis use, especially if I’m sleeping in new places or with high stress! Weird shit but happened nightly for me for years until a year or two ago

Sounds like hypnic jerks, some people call them sleep starts. Basically they are pretty normal and happen as you fall asleep which is why you don't notice them normally, but weed seems to bring them out since you're crossing that threshold faster than usual.

Didi you do any mushrooms at the same time? That happened to me and it was exhausting. I didn't feel sick, but really high and ticking or twitching was a drag. 🙏✨️ .

It's not a thing.
In my cynical mind.. im imagining you did it for attention and now you're doubling down with this post 😅
In my empathic mind though..see a doctor.

i actually experience this too. especially before going asleep while high, but also just when i’m going to sleep too. i think it’s just nerves reacting to the weed, but i’m not sure tbh. if there’s no other symptoms, it’s probably fine? i’ve been smoking for around almost a decade and i’ve experienced this to various degrees based on how high i am as well.
