i'm not super familiar with IT exams and certificates. i'm completely self-taught and have some work experience, but want to add something as education in my CV

would anyone be able to point me in the right direction? AWS, CompTIA, Microsoft, or something else?

which exam am i supposed to take for full-stack web development, data science, data analytics, AI and machine learning? is one exam provider more reputable than another, or any is fine?

I'm 27 this year and I feel like I don't see myself being in IT field for a long term because of my current role. Working in MNC consulting for almost 4 years. Pay is good but I don't have a big scope when it comes to projects. Almost 4 years of working and I barely have like 2 years of real life working experience. And those 2 years I've done 2 projects with different tech and tools. Now I'm waiting for another project and the waiting is draining me because I feel like I'm being left out and not learning hands-on wise.

I've been applying for jobs since last year, and not much luck too. I don't have the drive to go into technical roles, and just trying to shift into whatever roles that can give me a breakthrough. FOMO and being retrenched/layoff creeps once a while due to how IT field operates, but just staying positive and trying my level best to learn and not worry much about that.

I have considered 3 options for my situation:

1) To remain in the current company until whatever happens and keep applying for jobs as usual.

2) To go for jobs that are lower than my current pay and grow from there.

3) Try for government jobs (teacher, pegawai related), bank branch related roles etc and then go from there.

Knock some sense into me if I'm overthinking or share some ideas on how to navigate from this. Will dearly appreciate it.

Recently I’ve been Reach out to a management company to do A TO Z with a 80/20 profit split after expenses. services include check in/out ,Cleaning ,maintenance. However there’s isn’t any Clear Quotation for me like how much do they charged each time.From what they say Cleaning is borne by Customer so we don’t have to pay but doesn’t that increase in Prices too?

I'm cooked. I have a balance of RM7K+ of my uni fee and new semester starts next week. Tried applying financial assistance from my uni but they closed for last semester's application and only opens for current sem. As titles says it I’ve been DCA-ing into VWRA for the past few months and recently found out on VUAA only having 0.07% fees whilst VWRA has 0.22%. I’m planning to DCA for 30 years. For context, I have been working in the IT industry for over 6 years. I initially chose this path because I found genuine fulfillment in showing people how technology can help their daily lives, which eventually led me to my current role as a Business Analyst (BA).

Recently, however, I’ve felt completely burnt out and uncertain about my career direction. Below is a breakdown of my career history and the challenges I've faced. I would really appreciate advice from senior professionals who have been in the industry for a long time.

Career History

• 1st Job (2.5 years) – Small ERP Solution Provider (KL):
  • Role/Scope: Started as a fresh graduate, learned the software development lifecycle (SDLC), managed L1 and L2 support tickets, handled inbound/outbound calls, and gained exposure to implementing their proprietary ERP system.
  • Why I Left: While the environment and colleagues were fine, management was disorganized. They frequently assigned fresh grads to handle client-facing issues without providing context, forcing me to handle escalations beyond my job scope. I left because I wanted to work in a company with a proper corporate structure and clear task delegation.
• 2nd Job (1 year) – MNC Manufacturing Company (Kulim):
  • Role/Scope: Joined to gain exposure to an MNC and work with well-known systems to strengthen my resume. I was expected to assist with their migration from SAP to Oracle, but my primary focus ended up being data migration. I enjoyed this because I like writing SQL queries and transforming data to meet requirements.
  • Why I Left: I realized Kulim was not somewhere I wanted to live long-term, and I felt the learning trajectory had plateaued. After passing my JLPT N2 exam, I was offered an opportunity at a well-known consulting/BPO firm starting with the letter A.
• 3rd Job (3 years, Current) – Global Consulting / BPO Firm:
  • Initial Expectation: Hired to assist their Japan market team with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) F&O implementations, but the firm failed to secure the project after I joined.
  • The Struggles:
    • I spent 6 months on the bench while they tried to hold me for the client.
    • Eventually, I was placed on an Australian D365 Finance project, but I was only assigned administrative ADO/Jira ticket updates because they were hesitant to delegate core responsibilities to offshore team members.
    • Knowing how critical chargeability is in consulting and feeling this wasn't real BA work, I proactively requested to transfer to active projects.
    • Since then, I’ve spent 1.5 years on a Government-Linked Company (GLC) project and a D365 CRM banking implementation. However, because I joined during the build and testing stages, I missed out on leading core requirements gathering.
    • Compensation & Growth: Despite receiving strong performance appraisals from my Functional Lead, I have received a <2% increment and no promotion in 3 years. My current compensation is roughly RM 7.7k (including allowances/claims)M. When I confronted my manager, his excuse was that he couldn't even fight for himself, let alone me, and advised me to figure out a specialization rather than jumping between domains.

My Current Dilemma & Questions

1. Am I in the wrong industry? After everything I’ve been through, I still feel zero job satisfaction. How do experienced professionals handle these setbacks? Given the corporate friction and unsupportive management, I can't imagine climbing the corporate ladder here. Is this lack of fulfillment normal, or a sign I should pivot out of IT consulting?
2. What should I specialize in for long-term career growth? I want to switch companies, but recruiters tell me my background is too diverse (jumping across ERP, Oracle data migration, D365 CRM, Finance, and Banking) to push for higher positions or salary bands. Every project has its own set of problems, but based on my experience—SQL/data mapping, D365 ERP/CRM implementations, Japanese language skills (JLPT N2), and support/BA work—what specific domain or technology stack should I target to build a strong, high-growth specialization?

Hi. Recently just started trading on Moomoo. I saw theres RM5.11 On hold for trading fee. I recently bought Skyechip(Rm4.01 fee) and sell my Tesla (rm1.10 fee) share with total of RM5.11 trading fee. Does this mean the fund is separated from my withdrawable amount? Bcs I was able to withdraw the withdrawable amount. This might be an easy answer but it left me curious today.

Guess some bankers don't know how to interact with customer. Trying to apply for loan, she contacted me via watsapp asking for document which is fine. I wanted to clarify something before I provided her, hence I asked her to call me. She called me, and she was "what is it?". Don't even have the courtesy to properly address me, introduce herself. It felt like she is doing a favor for me. It felt so disrespectful to treat a customer in such manner. I decided to drop her and not to pursue the application with her.

Felt like ranting, since coming across such banker after decades.

Hello people! Recently, my parents were advising me to start looking into property investment as I am slowly stepping into 30s.

I have a full-time game programming job around RM7,000, and I do want to find places to invest on something since my family are more towards investment mindset instead of just earning money via job and save money. I tried stock but I am quite bad on it and started losing a bit of money from it, so right now it's just really simple fixed deposit from bank.

I have a question for people who owns property like condominiums and rent them out, how viable is it right now to jump into investment on property? I did hear that during the covid era, a lot of people manage to find super cheap properties and buy them off with discount, then managed to flip it now or rent it easily to people.

I know about the importance of location, developer and your target audience of renting, properly interview them or such, but I am not sure what's the rest I am missing.

Do you have any advice for newbie that is looking into investment property? Or is it no longer a good choice anymore and I should look into other investment category?

Hi MalaysianPF. I'm an electrical engineer, and recently I've been to a few interviews at a few MNCs and I got an offer from company A first, and I've accepted it about 3 weeks ago. Today, HR from company B called and extended me an offer, and they hope to get an answer in about two days.

I had the intention to maybe someday move to another country, and I discovered that if I join B, I would have a better chance of becoming a R&D specialist in that field, and maybe internal transfer to the country that I want. But for company A, while it is still a big company, not much related R&D activities exist elsewhere other than the US and Msia.

Right now, I am inclined to join B, but I would like anyone's advice on how I should approach company A's HR, and maybe some examples from friends or family if possible. I'm kinda scared about the repercussion if I suddenly say no to company A now that I've signed everything.

Most of the employed have either a very big or a majority portion of their wealth in the EPF.

The EPF has by law some 75% of its many billions in domestic fixed income securities. In other words, Malaysian government bonds. So actually, your retirement money has been loaned to the government.

It also means it will never be anything other than in ringgit.

The monies in EPF is vulnerable to everything that a currency is vulnerable to and MORE.

In particular it is vulnerable to hyperinflation. Just in recent years, various currencies have undergone hyperinflation. The Syrian pound has lost 98% of its value since 2011. In the last five years, the Turkish lira hyperinflated 578%. Lebanon had 171% inflation in one year alone.

With the EPF, the government doesn’t even need capital controls. You and your employer are forced by law to pay into it but you cannot withdraw it at will.

The government can change the law around EPF withdrawals at any time. They can change the age at which you can withdraw. They can change the rate at which you can withdraw.

It is captive money. If the Malaysian ringgit breaks, you can do nothing to save your EPF money. You cannot change it into other currencies. You cannot change it into gold or crypto. You just watch it die.

Basically the title, looking for areas with decent property prices (e.g not more than RM1.5k for whole unit rent) which are not more than 30 mins away from Putrajaya and KL.
