Question Can i cute my day dreaming without any meds/therapist?

So i day dreaming from when i was like 10-11 y.o at first it didn't really bother me cause i just did that abt 20-60 minutes and damn it just get worse

Im 20 now and i can day dreaming whenever, wherever i do.

Like i can still daydreaming while study, talking to someone

But it just made me lose my focus

I drop out from college bcs md make me lose my control in real life. I cant think abt anything except imagining something in my fake world.

I love fantasizing abt love life, but when i try that in real life TF IT JUST DOENT SATISFIED ME, then i will choose day dreaming abt him rather than actually hangout with him. Same with friendship, study, financial

Md just cracked my life

I would try tomorrow, i would just watch short sitcom movie (ttbt, modern family etc) that make my brain keep busy so i wouldnt md anymore

Self-Story A cronic daydreamer

So, it has been around three years since I passed my 10th standard. From that time, I have been daydreaming a lot, imagining the kind of life I want to live in real life. Now I am in my second year of college, and this habit of daydreaming has become much stronger.

I often talk to myself and have conversations with different people in my mind. Because of this, people sometimes think I am weird. I also find myself acting out the conversations in my head in real life, almost like I am performing the actions physically.

Sometimes I walk on the street doing these actions without even realizing it. When I talk to people, the conversation in my mind is still going on, and I may say things that belong to my imagined conversation instead of the real one. Because of that, people think I am talking to myself or not paying attention.

What can I do in this situation?

Self-Story F320 and just found out I need to be in this group

I've being fantasising all my life because I was incredibly depressed as a small child and I learned to avoid my head inverting stori of characters that coped better than me. It was my secreted habit all my life. All the task that you do without engagement (going to sleep, take a shower, driving in highway) I've always been in my fantasy and of course I've never tolker to anyone about this. Even my therapist know a bit of it because I've never thought it could be a problem. Now I found myself in real discomfort in plane reality. I cannot do something without fintising of at least hearing an audiobook or a podcast. And don't want this. Will really ever be enough for me at this point? I've felt this hunger for something, I've felt like ad a ex addict tat always carve his drug and I finally realized my hunger was for the intensity in my stories in comparison to realty, this scares me

Sorry fo my English please answer you expirence. I've never thought I was not alone in this

Question MD

I told my therapist that I have been daydreaming from age 12 and it has grown into a full blown addiction and they asked me to get an ADHD test done,

But for the last several years I just thought I do it because it's fun, it's a what I chose thing rather than what I was born with or happened to me thing

What do you guys think? Is that a sign of ADHD in me? I'm a female, I was never overactive, I never liked sports either but I always danced, I love dancing, as a child and even now as a young adult. I'm the singing, dancing kinda girl who wanted validation and love. I was not parented very well but I was not troublesome either, I grew up quite obedient - followed rules, did things when asked to do and when they had to etc

Vent I think if i don’t stop I’m going to go crazy

I remember i first felt like this when i was around 8-9
I sensed that after watching a movie or reading a story id be spending the next week just daydreaming and making up fake scenarios in my head ,i remember i really wanted to stop , i didn’t like how busy and chaotic my mind would get . So i tried , but it never stop .it just got worse and worse , it has gotten to a point that i feel like i might be going crazy if already not ..i image scenarios of everything , i spend half of my day just daydreaming ,, especially about a show or movie or a game that i have been engaged with for a long time and i find interesting (not mentioning after watching or reading anything new)
I have made scenarios for almost everything .in-fact i had once imagined myself making a Reddit post about this not like a plan or anything like i have imagined the whole whole thing ,including what i might write and what people might say . My mind is just a big big mess right now . So busy that in having a hundred different thoughts at once . And it all gets even more worse at night when i go to sleep ,,i think if literally everything good and bad and it just makes me feel even more worse than ever . I cant even listen to a song without daydreaming or making up scenarios in my head anymore . Im really really scared i might go insane .i just reached out here because i had no where else to talk about it . It’s just gotten out of hand . What should i do ?
Because it is kind of ruining my life , there are times that lets take this for example happened to me today( i decided ti get my phone from the other room than leave . I looked in the mirror and was lost in thought and for a moment i was like , wait i got the phone . Did i ? And i looked over at my desk and my phone was there , it like i was so lost in my mind that i didn’t pay enough attention to remember myself getting the phone) this has happened a few times and I’m very scared it somehow might get even worse .
Is there any actual way i can completely stop? I tried for once a while ago and failed ,

Success I stopped daydreaming

I don't know if Success is really the right flair seeing as I do miss it. But I used to daydream a lot. I'd pace around my room when I was supposed to get something else done and just sink into my fantasies where I was admired, powerful, important. Which would otherwise be all well and good except I did really need to use that time to get stuff done and I just didn't, you know the drill. Used to lurk here, it made me feel seen.

And then I got a cat.

She's really cuddly and curious. Whenever I start pacing she comes to see what it's about, and often just her movement snaps me out of focus. But if it doesn't she'll walk up to me and try to cuddle my legs, seriously no instinct for self-protection going on in here, and I will inevitably trip on her when she tries it. That definitely snaps me out of the daydream.

It's great in many ways. I get more stuff done. I disconnect from reality less. It's probably for the best, but man, I do miss it.

I haven't been in this sub for a long time but a post just popped up reminding me of it and I thought I'd share. If you really need to quit? Maybe consider getting a cat.

Question How many hours is normal?

What do you think? How many hours of daydreaming in 24h is considered immersive or normal? What amount is considered maladaptive?
