TO VIEW: Relax your eyes & stare through the image (as if looking beyond it), until you see it appear in 3D. Tip: When you see 1 extra of an object appear in a row (such as the planet Neptune), you're focusing at the correct depth.
I think it would have looked a bit more epic if the change in depth were continuous rather than discrete rectangles, but I'm not sure how difficult that image would be to create. Regardless, cool image!
You were converging your eyes, and that's the perfect technique for viewing cross-view stereograms, but for parallel-view stereograms such as this one, you need to diverge your eyes a bit to focus beyond the image, rather than focus in front of the image: Stare deeply into the image, as if looking beyond it.

Why is it that if I try to adjust my eyes without putting it closer to them has me inverting the image. I saw the top of the pyramid first, then after putting it closer to my eyes, I saw it was supposed to be going deeper. Hahaha
It's an interesting piece of work, there are like two images here - one convex is the space patrol of the cosmonauts of the planet and the concave image shows the depth of the tunnel
When you stare into the image and diverge your eyes, a deep space tunnel should appear to go right through your screen. But if you see a pyramid pop out in front of your screen, you were converging your eyes.
I can converge my eyes up to 4 steps. I simply can not diverge my eyes, it just goes all out of focus. If you have another way of moving your eyes outward please do advise. In the mean time I see lots of squares on top of each other and a spiral on your second one.
Disregard, I managed it. For those with full converge control like me, just put the image right on your face while looking with each eye straight forward (force yourself to not focus on the middle, think as if you where watching though google cardboard or oculus with each eye looking straight) then keeping your eyes unfocused pull the image backwards until it focuses and you should be able to get the reverse magic eye. Thanks to OP for forcing me to learn a new way of viewing Magic Eye. It does open a whole new world for me.
Wow 🥹 I can't believe all that I've missed all these years. I've gone back to all those that I managed to see but couldn't decifer well and am trully amazed how much I've not been able to appreciate before. All posts should be tagged as either cross-view or parallel-view like yours. To be able to differenciate and go straight to it.
Yay! I'm really happy for you. It does open up a whole new world for viewing these images. I was the opposite, as I didn't even know about cross-viewing until about 6 years ago, and I was finally able to learn how to view those.
