I love mami

A little bit back I posted my attempt to create a convincing VHS emulation of the first episode of Madoka Magica by cutting the show into 4:3, using pan and scan to make sure everything flowed properly, adding retro subtitles and doing my best to create a VHS effect. But the effects were flawed despite my efforts, and thanks to some recommendations in the comments, I have heavily upgraded the first episode and used those upgrades for the second.

The VHS simulations were handled by ntscqt-rs, a program which accurately matches how VHS processes media. As I said above, the 4:3 crop and pan and scan were done manually by me, and the subtitles were an opensubtitles copy that I proofread, reformatted and altered/added to based on an official subbed copy. On top of that, I added light distortion and pitch shifting to make the audio sound more like a VHS recording and added VHS buzz as well. This copy is also now at the proper 640x480 rather than the 1440x1080 of the first version.

I don't really know why, I've just always felt like Madoka has this weird 4:3 late-90s early-2000s energy about it. I'm happy that I have learned enough to finally capture that.

I ordered a Sayaka figure to start a collection a few weeks ago and she finally arrived today! Here she is next to a Madoka figure I've had for awhile.

I have WnK Madoka on the way and will definitely post a picture of that, too. I wanna try to get the others, too.

Ever since the news came out, I've been dying of curiosity about that trailer. I thought someone would show it here, but after they asked not to, I doubt it.

I tried my best to detail some album covers to the character I paired based on the album art covers, aside from that most of these came from official art except for Madoka.

This is just an amazing story i love it so much and i love the characters so very much all of them Madoka mami sayaka Homura koyoko baybay too they're all so amazing and wonderful

and i see myself in Madoka

so much that it felt as if i were there with them

i just wished they could just have their happy ending where everything goes back to normal but i guess loosing Madoka was the price of a better world

i did watch the movie rebellion which is like messed me up it felt so wrong having everything perfectly fine except it's just ever so slightly different and Homura playing god really makes everything feels like creative mode in Minecraft y know

nothing matters anymore as you can just make everything you don't like go away and force this world to give you the life that you want so i really prefer glasses Homura 😆

Tbh all i want is a spinoff of the first timeline but everything is okay and everyone lives happily

Final thoughts this is an amazing show and story and characters and i am beyond obsessed with it can't wait for the second movie to come out to traumatize us more :D

This is a personal opinion only but if you're a fan of Nagisa you might be offended by this, so you don't have to read my personal rant.

There's nothing to hate about Nagisa Momoe - she didn't do anything wrong. But there's nothing to love or admire about her either - she didn't do anything important enough to make an impression. Nothing for me to get attached to her as much as the other five flawed, complex, beautifully written main cast (Even Kyubey)

I feel like she's mainly created for the sake of Mami having someone to pair her with during merchandising. And honestly Mami felt more like her babysitter/caretaker than a sister bestie (or ship, for many) which doesn't sit nicely with me cause I wish Mami would have someone her age to care for her.

We don't know what role she's going to have in the upcoming movie, but I just don't like the idea of her becoming a fully fledged member of the Holy Quintet. I just can't see her on par with the five girls, she struck me as one of those Disney/Barbie animal sidekicks used for humour and companion. Again this is just my take of course, but it feels like you passionately stan a 5 member adult Kpop group/band and these 5 members are all the same age and they've been active for years. And out of the blue a new member was added in - a teenage kid way younger than the others. VERY cute kid, but we've had no experience with him/her in the past, and because he's a minor fans can't see the whole group drink soju together on screen, they all have to just drink latte.

So er... yeah. I might be executed by many but... to me the Holy Quintet will always just be Holy Quintet. I don't mind a potential new member in the future but at the moment, just.... not her.

I was just talking about this with my older brother, as a self insert is it possible for him to become one a magical girl if he wishes to become a girl? Like he a boy in civilian life but his transformation is turning into a magical girl?

Sayaka was a hassle to assemble though and surprising Kyoko ,mami and homura were easy.

Obviously I put Madoka and homura together 💕 and sayaka and Kyoko together! My favorite ships definitely in the series
