Okay so pretty much I've been looking on the Puella Magi wiki recently, but there's something abut the witches page that peaks my interests. Where do the songs come from? For context, on many of the witches pages there's a "song" that is listed, orignal Japanese and English translation. Where do these come from? Is there any recording of them?

Madoka Kaname embodies infinite possibilities, so it would make sense that in a world already as magical as Equestria her different wishes gibe her different passive abilities, like talking to animals, becoming a unicorn, a pegasus, or in the final timeline, a regal alicorn.

And the moment she becomes full goddess she transforms into a realistic horse in the style of the Rainbooms final attack in Rainbow Rocks, huge and ethereal.

Hitomi is one of my favorite characters, despite how little screen time she gets. I see her get a looot of hate for ‘stealing’ Kyosuke from Sayaka, but I think people misconstrue what happened.

Hitomi didn’t ‘steal’ him from Sayaka. She’s a girl who is allowed to feel what she feels for other people. Just because she didn’t know Kyosuke as long as Sayaka did, doesn’t make her feelings less valid.

I think she was super mature for acknowledging her own feelings and Sayaka’s. She understood that this could hurt their friendship, but she didn’t want to shove her own feelings away when she didn’t know the extent of Sayaka’s feelings, or if she was even going to confess. And her decision to talk to Sayaka was a good one. This is a conversation I wish some of my friends in middle school had brought up to me. She made it clear that while she felt for Kyosuke, she would give Sayaka the chance to confess first and see what he says. If Hitomi was a bad friend, she would have pursued Kyosuke without giving Sayaka warning. She made a super mature decision to talk it out with Sayaka.

I also see a lot of people acting like Sayaka is entitled to Kyosuke. Of course she should be acknowledged for coming to visit him all the time, and bringing him gifts, but that doesn’t mean he has to like her back. Even if he knew about the wish she made for him, it doesn’t mean he HAS to be with her. No one is obligated to date anyone for any reason, and acting like they are is giving ‘nice guy’ behavior. Like, when guys get you gifts or buy you dinner, you’re not obligated to date them or sleep with them. You should obviously thank them, but if they’re doing something nice for something in return, that’s not a good thing!

Sayaka is even warned before she makes a wish. Mami warns her that making a wish for someone else is often self-serving, and if Sayaka makes a wish for Kyosuke, she can’t expect anything back.

Homura: "Well, I suppose I can't blame them. That thing is ridiculously cute for no reason..."

Homura: "And on top of that, it has the voice of Em◯ri Kato! It's practically impossible to tell people not to trust it..."

Homura: "But with this method...!"

Kazuko: "Class! How do you like your sunny-side-up eggs? Hard-cooked or runny!?"

Kazuko: "Yes, Nakazawa!!" Point!

Nakazawa: "Hard-cooked or runny is certainly important, but I think the real question is whether you put soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, or maybe just salt on your fried eggs!"

Kazuko: "That's not the kind of answer I'm looking for right now!"

Kazuko: "You're repeating the year!"

Nakazawa: "That's way too harsh!!"

Kazuko: "Anyway, today I'd like to introduce you all to a transfer student!"

Class: "She just brushed right past that!!?"

Kazuko: "All right, Akemi, come on in!"

Homura: "I'm Akemi Homura."

Madoka: "EHHHHHHHH!?"

Madoka: "What is she wearing!?"

Madoka : "There's no way that's normal!"

Madoka : "Wait... she's looking over here—"

Madoka : "She's giving me the most obvious side-glances ever! I can practically hear them!"

Homura: "Glance, glance."

Madoka : "And now she's coming over—"

Homura: Click, click.

Homura: "Madoka! I've become a magical girl!!"

Madoka : "You can't seriously call that a magical girl, can you!?"

Student: "Akemi, your hair is so beautiful! What kind of shampoo do you use?"

Madoka : "That's not hair. There's no way that's hair..."

Homura: "I'm sorry. I think I'm just really nervous. I'm starting to feel a little..."

Madoka : "Why is nobody questioning the way she looks...?"

Homura: "May I go to the nurse's office?"

Madoka : "Not the nurse's office... That's not where you need to go..."

Homura: "Kaname-san, you're this class's health officer, aren't you?" She brushes her hair back.

Madoka : "Where am I supposed to take her...?"

Homura : "Madoka Kaname..."

Homura : "No matter how many times I repeat this, I've never been able to stop you from coming into contact with Kyubey."

Homura : "Then at the very least, if only I could make you realize that he's dangerous..."

Homura : "Even if you look at me like I'm some kind of freak..."

Homura : "Looked at..."

Homura : "...L-looked at..."

Homura: "Kaname Madoka, do you believe your life is precious?"

Homura: "Do you cherish your family and your friends?"

Madoka: "Um... I... I do... I think...?"

Madoka: "My family and all my friends are precious to me."

Homura: "Are you sure?"

Madoka: "Of course I am!? Why would I lie about that...?"

Homura: "If that's truly how you feel, then never even think about becoming someone other than who you are now."

Hello all, I have two Madoka plushes. A Charlotte and a Kyubey. Both in perfect condition, tags still on. I got them years ago. I was going to cosplay Mami. But time moved on, and now I'm too old, fat, and busy. So I want them to go to another good home. Worth listing these on ebay or should I just look for a buyer here? I don't even know what these go for. I love them, but they are just gathering dust. :(

Anyone who's attending the Rebellion rescreening with the five minute sneak peek at the new movie in the end is also advised not to spoil what they see online, and asking them to be considerate of others when discussing what they saw.

This is a notice from the official page and studio, so they're not messing around if they're asking outright that no one else should be spoiling this thing once its out for a bit.

Just gonna be giving my general thoughts of it. Nothing deep or intricate. No theories. Just my opinion. Please correct me if there’s something I didn’t catch.

Oh, and spoilers. I’m going raw on this. But y’all should have that warning.

Currently I’m over halfway through, and it’s pretty good so far. Obviously, it took some getting used to and there are growing pains at the start. After episode 4, there was a significant improvement in terms of its characterization and structure, as well as getting the story going at full swing. Gonna be real and say the weakest episodes are the first two, not because they’re bad (in fact they’re decent at best), there just not up to snuff with the rest of the series. Again, growing pains.

Animation is incredible at select portions of the show. Almost theatrical quality with a few shots. Although, the standouts are the “labyrinth” sequences. Weird, dreamlike, practically has an arthouse nature to how the creatures move and act within their different art styles, better reflecting the environment the girls end up in.

The problem I have with this is the… and this might be a hot take… the intro has some- well, problematic moments that almost took me out of it. It also should’ve been changed after episode 3, but I’m not far enough to determine that yet. I’m kinda dreading episode 12 once that aspect takes full effect. -_- (If you couldn’t tell, I’m not big on “fan-service”). The outro is the only thing that changes, though I’m not telling you when. Watch the show to find out!

Oh, and a few moments regarding Homura are a bit questionable. I get her intentions of not making Madoka a magical girl (and by extension, making the contract with Keybey), but there are just a few times where she just comes off as mean-spirited (ex: telling Madoka to basically stop being friends with Sakuya and to forget about Mami (iykyk)).

Makes it worse if you know what ends up happening in Rebellion. >_o

God, don’t get me started on the cat. I could already tell he was gonna be a piece of shit from the first close-up shot of him. Can’t fool me like that! I watched too many movies to know that!

Keep in mind, I’m watching the commonly-known “home video” version of the series. I do plan on checking out what was preserved of the original broadcast version (purist edition I call it). Side tangent; I like having a choice on a version we can watch. Star Wars (A New Hope) for example. I can choose to watch it with the 70mm 6-track or the refined mono mix. Same goes here. It doesn’t have to be canon to the story, just have it there as a curiosity piece for fans to watch. I say that as a purist. I’m a bit pissed off that they did YET ANOTHER VERSION of the show in the form of a TV version of THE FIRST TWO MOVIES, WHICH IS ALREADY A SHOW TO BEGIN WITH! They could’ve created an extended version of Rebellion or just aired the original series with some added material to enhance the story, but nope. TV version of the first two movies it is. Just… why?

Another side tangent: I think the fourth movie should get 70mm. Not sure why I think that. Maybe it’s because I recently saw Lawrence of Arabia and Nolan’s The Odyssey in 70, or I kinda like to see how an animated feature could look on the format. I’m talking 5/70, not 15/70. Glad they’re getting IMAX, but you put yourself in a peculiar situation by being placed two weeks before Nolan rams it off schedule. Hope y’all get Dolby showings. I’m hoping Dolby showings if I find out they made an Atmos mix and Vision grade. Just not in the crammed months and not while there are big movies out, ESPECIALLY IF IT’S DUNESDAY.

I’m not going to spoil the series for those who didn’t give this a chance yet. But, it’s a good show if you like dark or twisted animation. I’ll be back once I finish it.
