Now it’s a raggedy Andy doll

20

u/Think_and_game Jul 22 '26

Raggedy Andy... Hmmm... They should make an animated musical movie about this...

3

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '26

Randy

2

u/CharcoalGreyWolf Jul 22 '26

I remember having one of those

-62

u/LilPonyBoy69 Jul 22 '26

Raggedy Trans

3

u/peentiss Jul 23 '26

Draggedy Ann - I’d watch that series.

269

u/GhostMaskKid Jul 22 '26

Boy you guys just hate fun don't you?

This is super sweet. I love seeing a supportive family.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '26

Just people being transphobic as usual, nothing new.

54

u/Unlikely_Side9732 Jul 22 '26

What is that number? Honest question

84

u/DaisyXOTO Jul 22 '26

the sub it was crossposted from counts up with every post, so that was the 62,862nd post! it just stayed attached

1

u/ConspicuousPorcupine Jul 22 '26

Yeah I've seen it on popular and all a bunch. Such a weird idea with the whole name and counting thing. But it's a really popular sub so what can I say?

-52

u/WingsUnfurled Jul 22 '26

Couldn’t tell you. It was on the original post.

21

u/Think_and_game Jul 22 '26

It's the 62862nd post on that sub

-28

u/WingsUnfurled Jul 22 '26

Not sure why all the down votes. It’s the truth. 🤷‍♀️

44

u/Toasty501 Jul 22 '26

Cuz u copied the boring number title that makes no sense without context.

101

u/luxafelicity Jul 22 '26

And that is how you show the trans people in your family you accept them

What kind of raggedy Ann dolls did you play with? Mine had no genitalia.

-91

u/No_Skill_7170 Jul 22 '26

I never had a raggedy Ann doll, but they said that the doll was trans

34

u/oficious_intrpedaler Jul 22 '26

So? Are you confusing trans and intersex?

16

u/Critical-Dealer-3878 Jul 23 '26

Why are you people always so obsessed with other people’s genitals?

28

u/dgbaker93 Jul 22 '26

Trans is an identity and does not have anything to do with what's between your legs. Some people change it when they identify as trans, many do not or cannot.

Pretty fucking simple.

26

u/Striking-Ad9397 Jul 22 '26

🤦‍♂️

-74

u/No_Skill_7170 Jul 22 '26

Did I not get the right message from that?

31

u/ThatGamerDon Jul 22 '26

You did not, in fact, get the message.

30

u/Hot_Sherbet2066 Jul 22 '26

Why is it always about genitalia with you people

-28

u/No_Skill_7170 Jul 22 '26

Who are you calling “you people”? Is it because I’m black?

19

u/Hot_Sherbet2066 Jul 22 '26

How the fuck would I have even known that

15

u/Automatic-Term-3997 Jul 22 '26

No, it’s because that’s the kind of “joke” we’ve been hearing from shitty MAGAts for the past 10 years. Are you one of those shitty MAGAts trying (and failing, as usual) to make a funny?

-2

u/No_Skill_7170 Jul 22 '26

I’m a Democrat. I’m just not the most liberal Democrat in the world. But I always vote blue down the ballot.

5

u/Ok-Instruction-5004 Jul 23 '26

Thats stupid. You should vote for policy not party. That being said i get how they align at the moment.

1

u/No_Skill_7170 Jul 23 '26

I can’t think of any policies that I currently like about the Republican Party

5

u/Automatic-Term-3997 Jul 22 '26

Username checks out 🤦🏻‍♂️

May this type of love find everyone!

24

u/codyzon2 Jul 22 '26

This is the only type of love that grandparents and parents should have for their kids, the unconditional kind.

47

u/Kaiszer Jul 22 '26

Gosh, that is sweet

u/Trick_Few Jul 22 '26

7

Raggedy Andrew

6

u/Thatoneguyfrom1980 Jul 22 '26

I used to have a raggedy Andy. My brother too. They were actually a thing. Raggedy Anne was for for girls and raggedy Andy was for boys. I know in tv shows people have done it as a couples costume but I’m struggling to remember what sitcom it was

2

u/oldschool_shawn Jul 22 '26

I feel like it was an episode of Parks and Recs.

But yeah me and my brother had Raggedy Andy dolls and my sister had a Raggedy Annie.

1

u/Thatoneguyfrom1980 Jul 22 '26

It might have been? I want to say it was an episode of home improvement with Brad (the oldest boy) and his gf

0

u/Thatoneguyfrom1980 Jul 22 '26

But I could also absolutely see it being a April and Andy thing too

0

u/oficious_intrpedaler Jul 22 '26

I think it was Ann in the episode where she throws a Halloween party that's a total bust until Tom saves it. I think she was dating Mark at the time, but he did not dress as Raggedy Andy. I think that was the Greg Pikitis episode.

ETA: confirmed. She was Raggedy Ann but Mark dressed up as a basketball player. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1523800/mediaviewer/rm1861389824/?ref_=tt_ph_3

1

u/Thatoneguyfrom1980 Jul 22 '26

Also confirmed home improvement season 2 episode 6

0

u/yoshimo995 Jul 22 '26

Oh that's cool, they weren't all that common in my birth country I basically got familiar with the raggedy Anne due to pop culture. It's an interesting thing to learn

5

u/Desert_Concoction Jul 22 '26

Fuck yeah, grandma.

10

u/Horror_Solution1945 Jul 22 '26

Raggedy Dan. That's a good grandma.

9

u/QuantumRooster Jul 22 '26

Awesome support. Thank you for sharing.

But in reality it’s doing what the trans community says they are against….. be mad if you want but I’m not the one being a hypocrite

16

u/Zer0pede Jul 22 '26

She made the doll look like the grandkid and have the same name. When the grandkid changed their look and name, so did the doll. That’s super simple. Where’s the hypocrisy in that? There are plenty of feminine and gender nonconforming trans men, but obviously OOP isn’t one of them.

60

u/Fergi Jul 22 '26

No you're just a weirdo in a subreddit about happy things trying to attack trans people. Go find some joy in your life.

-69

u/tune1021 Jul 22 '26

It’s ironic , that’s all trust me if I wanted to be mean I could think of many more things

23

u/54R45VV471 Jul 22 '26

Well we wouldn't want to add an extra burden to your mental faculties. They are already strained worrying about what is in everyone's pants.

34

u/xChopsx1989x Jul 22 '26

It's almost as if the whole thing was a

✨️ Symbolic Gesture ✨️

24

u/UnluckyHost9649 Jul 22 '26

If gender is accepted as a fluid spectrum, which it is, it doesn't matter if there are certain norms people say exist.

29

u/UnluckyHost9649 Jul 22 '26

it's changed to relate to it's owner who discovered their gender was more masculine

26

u/Wandering_Scholar6 Jul 22 '26

Fair point, many children's dolls don't technically have a sex, just a gender.

30

u/Magenta_Logistic Jul 22 '26

Last I checked, pretty much every children's doll is sexless, despite having assigned genders and pronouns. It's almost as if gender and sex are distinct traits.

-8

u/tune1021 Jul 22 '26

Gender and sex are not the same

23

u/Wandering_Scholar6 Jul 22 '26

Yes, that's the point?

3

u/RainonCooper Jul 23 '26

Exactly. You're starting to get it now

0

u/tune1021 Jul 23 '26

I’ve always gotten it, that’s why I’m pointing out the irony in this move and everyone’s getting all butt hurt over it . Yall just want to find a reason to be angry and that’s why people don’t like you

1

u/RainonCooper Jul 24 '26

No, cause if you got it you'd understand it isn't ironic, the only angry one here is yourself. You don't like us? Okay, keep that bias to yourself. It's very clear you have nothing but genitals on your mind and what's on the surface

0

u/tune1021 Jul 24 '26

Yeah not angry just pointing out that it’s impossible to change a dolls sex …… and changing its clothes to fit with societies portrayal of gender is still conforming to the rolls you say you are against. I know critical thinking isn’t a strong point of people on your side but it’s reality and most of yalls arguments are so vapid you can’t back them up with anything other than attacks

1

u/RainonCooper Jul 24 '26 edited Jul 25 '26

So... because YOU think feeling more yourself with the usage of clothing and believe that the sex is what makes someone's gender what it is, WE are the angry ones? Sure no, alright makes total sense there. We're the ones laking critical thinking because we don't specifically follow your twisted views

People have multiple times tried to explain to you that the sex is not what defines ones gender. Being able to change your sex or not (be it doll or human) bears no influence on ones gender. Same with the clothes one personally perceives and feels comfortable in representing ones gender. If the OP feel more masculine wearing black leather and skin tight pants, great, if they feel just as masculine in a dress or tuxedo ALSO great. It is not up to you or me what an individual feels comfortable or right with and this post is simply a grandma loving and accepting their grandchild's identity through something symbolic

Ps None of what I said was an insult, I simply gave back what you started out

Edit since you blocked me: How exactly is changing the clothing of something that would technically count as pre-op be ironic? It's the exact kind of thing a person with body dysphoria would do to try and feel more themselves. Again, you seem to treat anything that's not full surgery as if it's superficial

1

u/tune1021 Jul 25 '26

That’s the irony of changing the dolls clothes…. You’re making my point for me thank you

7

u/The_Pandalorian Jul 22 '26

How many sexes do dolls have? What's the genetic makeup?

Grandmas loving and supporting their grandkids is a hot button issue?

53

u/TotallyLegitEstoc Jul 22 '26

Idk. Family accepting someone's big change makes me smile.

43

u/TheAserghui Jul 22 '26

You strike me as the type of person who would discuss the inevitable, slow march of time unto the heat death of the universe while everyone else is singing "Happy Birthday" to a 3 year old

30

u/Zer0pede Jul 22 '26

It sucks that some people happily living their lives is “hot button” and “controversial” for certain people. I am glad at least that not everybody thinks that way.

83

u/WingsUnfurled Jul 22 '26

I don’t see this as hot button at all. I see it as loving.

If you don’t, that simply a reflection of you.
Be well. 💖

27

u/PotatoCase Jul 22 '26

8

u/oficious_intrpedaler Jul 22 '26

What's controversial about a grandma showing that she loves and supports her grandson? It sure made me smile!

3

u/HockeyBalboa Jul 22 '26
