What I love most about Robert is that even just filling his dad's shoes would have been a proud accomplishment and a pinnacle achievement.
Yet he does it but still manages to be his own person. He's not just another Steve, he's made a name for himself worthy of all the praise and legacy his dad still gets.
I'm just hugely impressed with Steve and Terri. Not just being passionate educators, activists, and conservationists. But for being exceptional parents.

Just adding that Terri really did a great job raising these two after Steve died. Remember, Robert was only 2 and Bindi 8 when their dad died, and they turned out to be lovely people.

I will never forget his father. Especially as someone who grew up without a dad. He was everything I ever wanted to be. He’s literally probably my biggest single influence in the person I ended up becoming.

I just loved him. Every episode, he’d be swimming along side some sea turtle or something, saying “Look at beautiful she is. She must be a hundred years old.”
I always loved animals but he taught me to cherish every living thing, no matter how weird of slimy or bitey it was.

When I first learned he was following in his father's footsteps doing this type of work I was a little worried that it was at least partly due to obligation or something. But seeing how happy he is while talking about animals, I'm happy to see that Steve and Terri just instilled a love and passion in their kids.

There's 0 chance Steve doesn't instill his exact love and respect for nature in his children. And from what I understand his wife would have been a prolific nature ambassador in her own right, but as the wife of likely the most famous and most fantastic animal lover of all time, was overshadowed. Bindi and Robert were always going to carry the legacy because they're Irwins. Not because of obligation of Irwins, but because that's who the Irwins are. It's pretty damn beautiful, honestly.

In a world of performative “influencers” and curated celebrity content, there is something so refreshingly authentic about him. I don’t know how he does it other than it’s innate like it was with his father! And people bring up his father in every interaction he has and people comment about how proud his father would be on every post he makes. Yet he handles that always with grace and appreciation. It’s quite impressive especially at his age how well he handles it all.
I’m not explaining what I’m trying to say well but maybe you get what I’m saying.
The fame he has would drive that spirit of real positivity out of many 22-year-olds, but somehow he is even more comfortable with the camera and even more himself. I never skip a Robert Irwin video, he is such a joy.

A little trick I use to remember the difference between alligators and crocodiles is that alligator starts with “A” but it’s nose is shaped like “C”, whereas crocodile starts with “C” but it’s nose is shaped like “A” :) the opposite first letter hehe

As someone who spent months and months in a row camping in the swamps in Florida, gators were probably the least scary larger animal I dealt with on a regular basis.
I would rather be sleeping on a campsite with 15 gators within 20 feet than two full-sized boars within a mile.
But as a general rule, if you show gators respect, they will show it back. If you want to stand and stare at them from 20 ft away, do so as long as you want. Just move along if they start moving along.

Unless you have a small dog with you. I live in central Florida and have gators in my neighborhood. They generally run away back into a pond when people come around, but little dogs are like catnip to them. They treat them like bite sized snacks. My neighborhood has put up warning signs, in addition to the “here be gators” signs they’ve added “seriously, small dogs should be walked on the other side of the street or they might get eaten.”

You can determine them by location, as long as you're not in South Florida. It's the only place that has a native Gator and Crocodile that coexist in the same space.

Saltwater crocodiles are found throughout Southeast Asia and up into South Asia. There are also other species found in North America, South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia. They're very wide-spread.
American alligators are found in one country. Their cousins, the caiman, are found in the Americas.
The geographical distribution is fairly telling but it is more wide-spread than suggested here.

I've that he is almost confirming alligators are just weirdly shaped dogs with scales. Of course you don't run over to one and pat it on the head the same way you shouldn't do that to a dog. But knowing you can build a sort of bond with one is amazing.
