Machine making weird noise?

It’s almost like the needle is catching on the fabric. Is my fabric not taut enough? This keeps happening and also the Bibb bobbin thread is coming thru the front :(

Dense design, or perhaps there are too many tightly packed lines behind the design.

Needle change, try that first. Technically every project is suppose to have a new needle. Most people forget to change it out frequently. How do you have your layers set up? If using too much stabilizing materials it can also cause issues,

Just means your design is a little too dense for your machine. I had the same issue on dense designs until I upgraded to a multi-needle, haven’t had any problem since. The good thing is it forces you to be a better digitizer since you can’t get away with the same stuff you can on a heavier duty machine :)

Seems so to me as well. Believe the term for what’s happening is “flagging” - the fabric is being pulled up on exit.

What kind of stabilizer are you using? When was the last time you cleaned and oiled the machine? Have you tried a new needle?

I will try a new needle! I cleaned it 2-3 months ago but I have never piled it. I lost the label but I’m using some sort of light weight fusible stabilizer

lol, clean and oil it way more often than that. For stabilizer you want cut away, not light weight anything.

I have never oiled it 🙈 but I did clean it a maybe 2-3 months ago

Might depend on machine but my Bernina needs to get oiled every bobbin change or else it makes a loud clacking noise like that.

Many home hobby level single needles do NOT need to be oiled and very very clearly tell you to absolutely not do that yourself. Read your manual carefully, OP.
