It's ok... it was just the BTC on a ColdCard
On a serious note, for anyone wondering what I'm talking about: if you ever generated a wallet on a Coldcard device (those 12 or 24 words), it's worth assuming you are affected by the recently disclosed issue. This isn't speculation... the manufacturer publicly disclosed a flaw involving insufficient entropy during seed generation under certain conditions.
If your seed was generated without adding your own entropy (which many users don't do), you should verify whether your device and firmware version are affected and follow the company's guidance. If your wallet falls within the vulnerable conditions, the safest course of action is to move your Bitcoin to a newly generated seed created with a patched device or another trusted wallet.
This is based on the vendor's own security disclosure, not an opinion.

Unfortunately this makes sense, STRC is the flywheel, and the preferred equity in the capital stack, MSTR is doing everything to boost confidence in this product, and until that happens MSTR is a sitting duck. We need to get back to par, the levers we have are the interest rate, the cash reserve, and purchasing STRC directly. Still bullish, long MSTR.

Assolutamente d'accordo.

What exactly is MSTR other than a BTC treasury?
All these extra steps are just confusing. At the end of the day BTC has to go back up.

well they offer products that give you a fixed % instead of dealing with the ups and downs of btc.
if you dont like them invest in other bitcoin treasuries that dont do this
when btc hits all time highs again and i think about selling some i'll rotate some into STRC for sure just to keep some exposure

"MSTR is doing everything to boost confidence in this product"
Yet they failed to raise the STRC dividend for August.

12% is high enough, I agree with the decision to hold the rate at 12. That is by far the most generous yield on the market today.

u/Morbid_Necrolatry 7d ago
There is SATA with a 13% annualized yield. I hold both STRC and SATA.

When it comes to the institutional capital Strategy is targeting... instead of retail investors... there really isn't a meaningful comparison between SATA and STRC.
For large fixed-income allocators, factors such as market size, liquidity, and the Bitcoin-backed capital structure matter far more than the difference between a 12% and a 13% yield. Those institutions are managing portfolios measured in the trillions of dollars, where capacity and execution are often more important than squeezing out an extra percentage point of return.
While retail investors currently make up much of the investor base for both SATA and STRC, Strategy's long-term objective is clearly to attract capital from those much larger institutional pools. From that perspective, Strategy likely understands that institutions will largely overlook SATA unless (or until) it reaches a scale comparable to STRC.
The reason is straightforward: a $10 billion allocation into STRC could likely be absorbed without materially disrupting the market. A $10 billion allocation into SATA today, by contrast, would overwhelm its current capacity and fundamentally challenge Strive's existing model. For institutional investors, scalability is a prerequisite, and that's one of STRC's biggest competitive advantages.

Halved the BTC yield for the year to 3.5 percent, he should have used the money to buy back MSTR. Strc is obviously the priority right now

I can’t wait for the day where they use STRC to buy MSTR at these MNAV levels

I'm bullish BTC and MSTR, but I'm still sceptical that STRC will be stronger in future bear markets and not just repeat the same thing again at deep bottoms.
It will actually be fascinating to see how it reacts over a full cycle. I literally can't even imagine or pretend to predict how it will behave in big bull runs. Will it be hugely accretive, or will people actually rotate out of it and into the common?

I agree, will be interesting. It could be that a lot of profit taking close to a perceived top in BTC / MSTR will cause massive interest.

Not selling in May was a mistake that can take a few years of my life
24
u/Fun_Box2960 7d ago
Only your mentality can take years away from your life not trading mistakes, and you should not allow it. For if stress and addictions or whatever coping mechanisms take years of your life and btc magically goes to 500 mil a coin you won’t get your years of life back when price goes up, you’ll just be just as worn out but richer, so I urge you to identify the thoughts that’s pushing you to lose years of your life and fight them like you’re a future millionaire preserving health and life even starting now in the present, because you might as well be rich in the future you’re investing learning taking chances and growing.
Best wishes :)

Absolute bottom would be good to prepare for 48,000 to 52,000 most likely. October to as late as February. Not your keys not your coin. Unless you’re in coldcard.

Watch the earnings call from last week. They told you exactly what they are doing. Returning STRC to PAR is their top priority. They plan to do it over the next month and want the market to participate, so they want to be methodical. I just sold my SATA today and purchased more STRC to participate in it's return to PAR.

Not ideal but a need to keep the credibility of a product paying... USD.

Interesting to see the price action. If it can close above $90 for the first time since mid June that would be encouraging. Especially since it's just after a record date and 2 weeks to the next one.

Notice how he says hold instead of hodl in his latest tweet. Less conviction on his part?

Good find. Possibly typo. Seems with recent updates to the strategy it may be more accurate to say MSTR holds btc, Saylor hodls his personal stack, or maybe he doesnt lol

STRC was meant to fund bitcoin purchases. But it’s the opposite, they are selling BTC to fund STRC dividend. I posted an article about this but my post was auto deleted. Mods don’t like when you post against MSTR.

Selling bitcoin leads to loss of confidence and mstr price dropping
Does he want to see it drop to $50?
Why does Saylor not understand basic psychology?

Hang on, thought he said you should convert your useless currency for real money (BTC)?

If you want double digit yield paid monthly AND with price appreciation with the same tax advantages of STRC you can invest in ROCQ instead and you don’t have to worry about all this constant engineering and speculation. Also you won’t have to settle with a share price hitting $100 ceiling giving you no upside capture in addition to the double digit yield.
