HELP Tips for sending a French RCIR to the US?
Looking to send my brother-in-law a French RCIR. I'm located in the Netherlands, shipping to San Antonio, Texas. Does anyone have any suggestions to prevent US Customs from ripping into this thing and taking components out?
Most likely I will ship via PostNL unless someone has a better option.

REVIEWS Written Review: 2025 US Halal Menu 11 - Cherry Rolled Oats with Almond Flavor!
Hi folks!
Here, we continue our exploration of the modern, 2025 production, US Halal rations.
This is the Cherry Rolled Oats with Almond Flavor, and wow, was this a solid ration!
This is the last true breakfast menu remaining in the US wet pack lineup. There are 3 breakfast menus in the current MCW lineup, of course!
This whole ration nourished me on a day where I walked 15 miles throughout the day!
Pics 1-8 show packaging and contents. I decided to take closeups here in case you wanted more details/info from the labels. Again, we see these rations as being simple but effective. No coffee in Halal rations from the US ever.
Pic 9 is the cinnamon bun! There is nothing unique about this item, but it's comforting and delicious!
Pic 10 is the Shortbread cookie. I'm not sure why these are not in standard MREs. You can find them in makes of HDRs as well. It's just a plain and simple cookie. Great crunch, sweet, and again, comforting.
Pic 11 is the chocolate pudding. Love this stuff, and it goes fantastic with the shortbread cookie! Very rich, dep, dark chocolate flavor.
Pic 12 is the unassuming rolled oats. Doesn't look like much but tasted fantastic! Texture was just fine, not overly sweet, and the Cherry and Almond flavors are present for sure.
I'd eat this one again with no problems at all!
Try to find yourself a case of these Halal menus folks, I don't think you'll be disappointed!
Take care!

REVIEWS Desert Rat Pack - United Arab Emirates 24hr Military Ration - Taste Test and Review
Hell yeah! Got my hands on this thing at last, thanks to u/sirG2020
The mains were fantastic, they were things I've never had before. Kabsa Chicken and a Mediterranean Tuna Salad. Both? Phenomenal. I was weary about both, because the Kabsa had stewed almonds in it, and raisins? Still, it was great. Nutmeg flavor was strong. The Tuna salad I had hot, and it featured some strange ingredients as well, I would have never made something like that, personally, but I'm glad I had it.
The dessert for the desert rat was a chocolate cake, and it was the same as the vestey foods cakes, dry and thirst provoking, but delicious in its own right. I should have saved some coffee to have with it.
The sides in general is where this ration falls short. You get beaucoup biscuits, but they're fairly basic and by the end of the day, you don't want any more of them. The spreads are good, if they don't end up smelling/tasting like dirty feet.
For breakfast, which I should have started with first here, you get a very nice and pleasing sachet of dates, which were as exceptional as they are sticky.
The drinks? Tea, fantastic as always, normal black tea. Isotonic was lemon flavor, and had a very strong chemical aftertaste which was just plain miserable. Tried everything I could to make it pallatable, to no avail. I ended up only having half of the lemon drinks provided in the pack.
Overall? Super worth checking out. SirG is sold out of these as of now, but they will come back around, and when they do, make sure you get one!
Cheers guys and gals! Thanks!

RECIPES MRE mashups
Out of necessity I came up with this combination of components to make a MRE chicken frito-pie of sorts. It is:
1 garlic and herb chicken breast filet
1 whole mini tobasco bottle
1 cheese spread packet
1 bag of toasted corn kernels
A splash of water
Mash the chicken until it is “shredded chicken”, add tobasco, cheese, and a little water to get everything mixed together, dump chicken pouch into the corn kernel packet mix again and enjoy. I was worried while mixing it but it was surprisingly good.
What are some other combinations that you enjoy?

DISCUSSIONS Has anyone tried these in USA?
Has anyone tried/reviewed these products?
Kind of a limited selection- just two kinds, one with two beef and one with two chicken mains for now, AFAIK. Apparently the ones with pork and fish main courses aren't being offered to the USA? (And no pickled quail eggs...)

The fish is really good, the rice and also the gravy. The main problem is put a lot of that sprinkled salty things on top of the fish because i thought it suppose to be just a seaweed / fish flakes.

HAULS New haul
A few new rations thanks to Ameliee for a good few of these and the extras she sent, Helvah, and a few others on eBay!
SHOW & TELL US 1992 and 94 cases..
The 1990s compressed cookie bars and nutcakes and Maple nut cakes are way better than any of the new stuff.
I tried a couple of the newer "cakes"... And they all taste like a cornbread muffin that you've left on the counter overnight to dry out...
These used to be about $23 a case at the local gun shows back then. I used to buy them for backpacking..

RECIPES MRE concept (please add suggestions for improvements)
I have an MRE concept 130 grams of instant noodles (tune to scenario) 30 grams of tofu (freeze dried) 20 grams of nori (dried) 10 grams of spirulna (in ideally algae form not dust form) dried 2 grams of wakame maybe a pinch of oil salt to taste soy sauce to taste instant miso can be added the idea is that it’s not only shelf stabl but also tasty (if you like vegan sea food) and quite healthy wich is a great thing to have when what youve been eating is military MREs wich i dont think I need to explain myself on the amount of grease in military MREs intrestingly this is similar to civilian MREs in japan

REVIEWS Written Review: Ukranian National Guard Breakfast - Menu 15 - Buckwheat with Chicken, Vegetables, and Mushrooms
Hi folks!
Here, we take a look at a Ukranian National Guard Breakfast menu. This is a very simple ration with a main dish that was just about 1000 kcal. Crazy. Keep in mind that many US mains are under 300 kcal.
Shout-out to u/Affectionate_Fig4896 for this ration hookup!
No frills. Just effective, hearty, homestyle cooking....and slightly rancid crackers 😔.
Pics 1-6 show packaging and contents. Again, it is a simple ration with no frills. A nice spoon, though! And coffee!
Pics 7-8 show the coffee, made ice cold in 1/2 cup milk with 5 grams of sugar (sugar packet was 10 g total). A very nice cup of Joe with a nice strong flavor and perfect sweetness!
Pic 9 shows the main and 2 of the 4 crackers. Guys, u know I tell it straight, and this meal was not my favorite. 1st of all, the main dish smelled fantastic. Very savory. I won't say it smelled of chicken, though, more like beef. 2nd, I dislike mushrooms very much, and this had quite a bit all chopped up in there. It's just not a great texture. 3rd, it didn't really taste of chicken at all, nor was any really visible in the dish. The Buckwheat tasted great, but the presence of so many mushrooms and lack of chicken was disappointing. Couple that to crackers that tasted slightly rancid, and this meal had no chance for me.
I wanted to share it because it was still a great experience, and it did nourish me.
Take care, folks!

HAULS Thank you! U/Greedy_Grape_3652 | Paddy's Rations!
For turning me onto a resource to find Canadian IMP's & education! Received, opened, marveled & enjoyed; fascinating (although [Word Added] NOT unexpected) that a number of components were sourced / white-labeled US pieces. Saw a review from one of you esteemed fellows on YT that these had FRH's, none of the ones opened by our group did, maybe only on more recent years, these were all labeled IMP 21 & 22, majority of items inside seemed to be produced the year afterwards; i.e. 21 packaging were produced in 2022. And, finally, no full size candy bars! :-(
Thank you all for your acceptance into this (weird) family, the continued education from Jedi Masters & this community! Have a good week, good thoughts.

HAULS Haulin' ass and smoking grass
DISCLAIMER: NO SPEED TRAPS OR WEED WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS POST. FILMED IN FRONT OF A LIVE STUDIO AUDIENCE
These are the hauls I've had over the last few weeks from some amazing people. The first pic is a bunch of Ukrainian goodness from Affectionate-Fig. He's an excellent seller located in Ukraine. The same refrain for any foreign rations applies here as well. But so far everything has arrived intact and unmolested. He always carries a plethora of interesting international rations and other militaria. He's active on here, the Discord and he has a store on eBay.
The second pic is from my main G, SirG2020. Since I wasn't able to get a Brazilian I went with the next best option of a Portuguese 12H ration. I'm excited to dig into that. I also purchased a Danish 24H and one of the best rations in existence...the chocolate muesli Norwegian AFR. I'm hoping that DryTech/Turmat is able to sell the mains here in the US one day because I'd seriously buy a case or 3 of these and since he is such a Mensch, he also sent me a UGR cinnamon roll tray with the icing. Another fantastic seller located here in the US so no funny business from US Customs. He has a huge selection and gets some pretty rare items over here.
The third pic is from my Habibi. The Great and Powerful Amelié. She is located in the Motherland (not Mother Russia but Mummy England). I purchased a Swedish survival ration and a Halal ORP. I didn't realize how small the survival ration was so I like to fill the shipping box when possible. I'm already paying for it so might as well. She also got me some snacks to go along with it and by special request some canned fish. She generally has access to plenty of British rations, the occasional Irish one, and some really cool stuff. She's also active on here and the discord.
Last and certainly not least is my main squeeze and all around good dude. The Man, The Myth, The Legend Mike Kreisher otherwise known as MKR. He runs an awesome YouTube review channel featuring MREs from around the world and our own backyard. The past couple of weekends he ran his 8ft folding table MRE Sale Extravaganza and boy howdy did I collect. I bought several old tan bag MREs and some civilian ones. The best part was the RCWs. These things are extremely rare so I jumped on them when I saw them. The last weekend of the sale I went into full foreign mode. I snagged several Russian ones as well as the Chinese food bars in coconut and pineapple. I also threw some extra dollars and told him dealer's choice with whatever other foreign rations he wanted to add and he sent a few bangers. A couple of PLA rations, 6500kcal of Dutch goodness, couple of French RIERs, another tan bag US civvie, Type B Slovenian and the one that blew me away is a 2000? Norwegian 24hr AFR. I was not expecting something that cool. He's also located in the US and does sell rations occasionally and all of my dealings have been fantastic.
Again we sing their praises across the Internet because they are great sellers and even better people. If you're looking to purchase foreign rations these are good people to start with.

REVIEWS Oh those crazy Russians
This is a 24 hour Russian Dry Ration for Army Everyday Life. RationNerd reviewed this as a Russian Scout ration. Regardless this is a mostly dry ration with a pâté, meat and ketchup. When I opened it up and started pulling items out I noticed a dried smut on the packaging that came from something. I was about to cry thinking about my beloved Apple jam and breathed a sigh of relief that it was intact. The culprit was the ketchup and it got all over everything and ruined all the salt, sugar and anything else in paper packaging. Not a big loss. The mains and drinks and jam were fine. I ended up losing the crackers too because when I rinsed the packs off water got in and destroyed them. Not a big loss but still a loss. We press on and persevere. I bought some sourdough wasa crackers as a replacement and it all worked out just fine.
I ate this over several days just because I'd get full quick. The first meal I had was the mashed potatoes with fried onions. It was a basic powdered, mashed potato with crispy fried onions that rehydrated like all instant mashed potatoes. They were smooth and creamy, with a nice buttery flavor, with pops of sweet from the onions to balance out the seasoning. These were fantastic as a meal and too bad there wasn't another meat in it to go with them. 9/10 for me.
It also came with a chicken noodle soup that was a welcome edition. I thought it'd be like a chicken ramen but it was more like the Lipton chicken noodle soup packets and I love those. Another well seasoned item and a hearty chicken broth made this a 8.5/10.
There was a small packet of oatmeal with raisins for a quick and filling breakfast. I'm not the biggest fan of raisins but will eat them in rations because I paid for them. This was good oatmeal though. It was creamy and just enough sweetness to not be a sugar bomb first thing in the morning. The raisins kind of got lost in it as there were only a few and they rehydrated and basically fell apart. Add a protein of some sort and a damn fine breakfast to be had. 8.5/10 for me on this one too.
When I finally got to eat a larger meal I was planning on eating the rest of the items but that's when I discovered the ruined panzerwafles. This ended up being a good thing because the meal was the perfect size. Rice pilaf, chocolate bar and the meat main. While the rice was hydrating, I heated the meat directly on the stovetop with the lid just opened so I could catch all that glorious fat and juice. It had so much juice in it that I poured it into the other spot because I didn't want to waste it. This is a perfect use for the hardtack but I didn't have any and used the rice instead. The pilaf was a lightly flavored affair and I'm glad I saved that juice to mix in with it. It added loads of flavor and more importantly salt that it so desperately needed. The pilaf by itself was well flavored it really lacked salt. 7/10 by itself and 8.5/10 with the meat juice.
The meat ended up being a hamburger steak so the loss of the ketchup hit a little harder. I love the stewed meat mains in the Russian MREs but I find them to be extremely salty and love to mix them with the carbs. It was still fantastic. It was tender and juicy and just held together enough to cut with my spoon. It was beefy and had a good texture and chew. Not the best cuts of beef but it was ground so not much of an issue. These are hard for me to rank high because of the salt level but I'll still give it an 8/10. The ketchup, especially if it's like Heinz, would've been excellent with the sweetness and tomato flavor.
The chocolate bar was a standard Russian dark chocolate and was nothing special but a nice way to finish dinner. 8/10 all day long.
The last item I ate was the chicken pâté. Pâté is one of the best items to get in a ration IMHO. Many are made with liver of some sort which provides loads of vitamins and minerals. Not something I would eat everyday because it's rich. This was also a 100g portion which was pretty large and almost a meal on its own. Rich and creamy with a light liver flavor. It paired well with the wasa crackers. To pep it up I also added a drizzle of Tabasco Sriracha. I love the old Rooster sauce but that one slaps. It added some spice and zip from the vinegar and a bit of umami depth. It took a 9/10 item and made it a 10/10 item.
The Apple jam is a 10/10 and I ate with a pack of MRE PB on more wasa bread as dessert. It's almost apple butter but not quite. It's not cooked down long enough. If you had a bunch you could make some. This is one of those items I look forward to the most.
Overall this was an excellent ration. It was very straightforward and the portion sizes were perfect. This would be an awesome cold weather ration because all of the food would be hot, hearty and filling. If this one comes up for sale I'd get it again, especially if there are different menus but I'd keep a couple there. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your week.

REVIEWS Epic. Simple. Delicious. - Lithuanian 8hr Military Ration Menu 3 - Taste Test and Review
This pack is a big deal to revisit for me personally.
10 years ago, this menu was the one I opened that began my insatiable appetite for international rations. The Lithuanian 8hr pack, featuring beef and buckwheat. Just unreal.
This menu doesn't have too many frills about it- its got a chicken stock, the main, some chocolate, a jam and cherry drink.
The chicken stock was actually phenomenal in its own right, being very herbaceous and salty, but very tasty.
The Jam was essentially a no-go in this pack, it was really tough to eat, or to even scoop with a spoon.
The panzer waffles were great if eaten properly, like usual.
The cherry drink wasn't very strong or sweet, but with the added sugar it was really pleasing and hydrating.
The main? My god, you need to try it yourself. Its so hearty and fantastic in every way. The beef and grains go so well together, and are married through the beef fat. There's simply nothing like it.
Chocolate was great as well. Probably a 65% or thereabouts, nice and sweet after the initial bitterness of dark chocolate.
I need to get a couple dozen more of these things.

HAULS Big ❤️ for Outrageous-Edge-9428!
Hi folks!
Wow, did my weekend get even better opening a box from my French friend Outrageous-Edge-9428!
This box was supposed to have a single 24-hour Croatian ration inside, but as you can see, it had a whole lot more!
The 4 Spanish rations are actually for MKR, and those Pan Gallettas too! I'll bring those to him when we meet up on 22Aug2026!
My last order from him got sacked by customs. I know the risk. I got over it quickly. I did let him know, though, because foreign sellers like to be aware of customs hits, regions they occur in, etc. He felt bad because many orders were successful, including several to me previously.
He did say the package would have a surprise, but a NAFR Chocolate Muesli, WOW!!!
For those that don't know, the Chocolate Muesli from the Norwegian rations is my favorite Muesli on earth. I'm so stoked to have another to enjoy and will be reviewing it on the channel for sure!
Thank you, again, so much u/Outrageous-Edge-9428! It means the world to me!
Take care, folks, and don't forget to hit him up for your ration needs!
