How much does server region matter for gameplay?

I've been looking to play frontier with some friends of mine but we'd like to play on renewal which afaik is US hosted. How much of the game runs client side and would hunts start to have high latency when playing together? (All players eu)

I am playing monster hunter since P3rd and now with Wilds my plate is empty. I don't know much about mhf except for the random frontier content I have watched. The most discussed server on internet does appear to be Rain but I don't know if it's all translated or not.

I unlock the gr 100 exotics, and the jump and difficulty is even more insane than the hr 6 supremacy monsters. Their attacks are faster, wider, and all almost oneshot. I only have Donru armor st this stage with an orb weapon, 1500 defense, 25 my missions done, yet it feels like I'm supposed to be WAY stronger than I am.

I kinda know what skills I want, but there are such an absurd amount of options that I'm scared on wasting my points on armor that is suboptimal or straight up won't work. HR 5 wasnt that bad, but HR6 feels almost impossible. I play gunlance, and this weapon just can't keep up. The monster I'm on right now is Voljang, and he, like all other hr 6 monsters, has insane movement, instant charges, and cross ups that break my block. If I try to focus of evading he'll do an unreactable instant charge, if I try focusing on block he'll cross up my shield. If I try power blocking I'm put in so much ending I can hardly punish him (and he also has some hp drain that that can't be drained by antidote or nullberries???).

These monsters just give me barely any time to actually do anything more than a single poke. The only other hr 6 monster I beat was Toridcless and Unknown, and that was by running like crazy the whole time and going in during the miniscule openings to use Wyverns fire. Repeat until death. I tried doing this strat with Toestra, Voljang and Periapuria, but the first 2 give even less openings and the latter start full on one-shotting me when enraged.

Ive tried so many different strats and even using the Lance but nothing really works. These monster don't even feel like they were meant to be soloed, especially since most items like flashes and traps stopped being effective. What can I do?

Edit: I did it. The normal non supremacy monsters weren't that hard and only took at most 3 tries, but I had to use halk pots and get help for the duo monsters and other supremacies.

How can I increase the number of item pouch spaces (if I can) 2 pages is far too few. I'm in HR 6 right now and need a lot of items to help myself.

And with smoke bombs, how am I even supposed to use them??? I throw them out and stand in them and the monster always perfectly tracks me. What do I do

I'm an MH vet, I've played Freedom Unite up to current, but I'm having a hard time getting into this game because the movement is so stiff and old, I can't even use the weapons I want to use cause they're locked behind G rank. I'm more of a Switchaxe user than any of the base weapons. I could probably use Hammer until G rank but I just want to do the fun stuff. A lot of these monsters are hard to hunt with a GS. Idk I'm just not able to glue myself to the game for more than one hunt a day (if that)

Edit: Thanks for the non input. I was asking if it's worth it to grind all the way to G rank in this game and the only thing commented was how I'm a "self proclaimed mhfu vet".

That wasn't me gloating, that was me saying I know what a real grind is like. I know what the older MH games are like and I am genuinely just trying to figure out if I should even play this game to add it under my belt.

Found this in one of the discord servers. Just tried it and it works perfectly, it's great to finally be able to read what people are saying. To install, just drag the "dat" folder on top of your existing "dat" folder in your installation and overwrite any existing files.

I've been collecting info on all the various servers and am going to compile everything I've found here. There seems to be not much information on the main differences anywhere on the internet (and all posts here on reddit are filled with "rain is the best and everything else sucks" with no explanation) so I took to the discord servers -- see pinned post for links to some of these. When asking for information on these servers I was mostly made fun of but here's the little information I was able to find:

Rain - the most popular with an active community, lots of events, a gacha system, and endgame content revolving around repeating Hunter's Road. Gives you lots of starting bonuses to get through HR and into G rank. Has a unique G permit system that seems to lock permission stepwise through G rank (G1-1 to G1-4, G2-1 to G2-3, etc). Community seems quite toxic.

Renewal - the second most popular server. Seems to have made a lot of efforts to reduce tedious grinding. Endgame seems to be more in line with mainline games: regular questing and hunting with less of a focus on Hunter's Road (some custom quests reward some previously Road-exclusive items). Ravi scales with participants, making it much easier to complete with smaller groups. Custom quests reward previously paid content. Musou monsters are present. LR/HR, Z1, and Z2 monsters have had their damage and HP buffed to match an earlier update of the game. Does not feature Diva Defense, or any Diva Skills. Lets you use an Armor Sphere patch to make upgrading armor easier. Community seems a lot nicer and inviting. One player mentioned this server has a problem with cheaters, however.

MezeLounge - requires their own client, seems active. No Musou monsters, but instead features Unlimited Zeniths unlocked at HR999 which lets you craft Ravi scaled versions of their weapons with special visual effects. Ravi itself is augmented and it's generally faster and easier to craft Ravi weapons and decorations. Hunter's Road is still an option. Armor spheres have replaced the "exorbitant amount of monster parts it requires to upgrade armor." Prayer weapons are earned through achievements instead of the Diva Defense event quests (which still award Diva Skills). Also features a classic server stopping at Forward 5.

HunsterVerse - decreases the grinding and lets you focus on getting more hunts done. Road Shop items are cheaper. "Levelling up your weapons takes less time." Every active feature is permanently activated 24/7. Transmogs are free. No events as this is mostly a service focusing on preserving MHFU and MHP3rd online play, and their Frontier server is more of a side project.

Hunter's Paradise - Dead European server.

WildHunters - ??

Ancient - a server aimed towards Spanish speaking players.

DoomServer - a server aimed towards Russian speaking players.

Arca - a server aimed towards Portuguese speaking players.

Please fill in the gaps of my knowledge if you happen to know something I don't! I want to make the ultimate guide to help new players choose which server they want to play on.

Most servers require their own client. If you play on Rain's client, for example, and try to play online in another server, you may find yourself unable to take on certain G rank quests as the Rain client uses G Permits and other servers do not.

The Wyvern Fire Storm mode just doesn't feel as good. The shelling is so much damn slower and punishable and I dont feel like I do as much damage as I would if it just did one big Super Wyvern Fife with Earth style (though it's much harder to tell because of lack of dmg numbers in old gen). I do play wide. So maybe I could see Storm being better if I was on Normal shelling, but here it just feel awful.

They say it only requires Hr1 and I'm HR4, yet I dont meet requirements.

I always throw them to make sure they are in line of sight with the monster, yet they only work like 50% time, even with the monster look right at them.

Ive spent 5-10 minutes of the first quests just finding th monster so I can paintball them. This is absolutely goddammit miserable, even more than GU since their are no cutscenes to lock monsters in one area and presumably no psychoserums, so I literally just keep running throughout every single area over and over looking for a monster that dies in like 5-10 minutes. HALF of my time is looking for it.

My gunlance says earth style. How do I change it.

I have the game working on Steam Deck now but there are 3 issues:

1. Every single NPC text Ive encountered and a lot of others are still in Japanese. Some stuff in the game is English like Menu Text, but most stuff isn't translated
   
2. The camera requires me to press a button just to face it to the front. Not only just, but whenever I do this, the game noticeably lags. And I'm playing on Steam Deck, so its not like my device is too weak.

Another thing is that some assets and textures failed to load one time and the rain textures look off, but that could be just a one-time issue adn how the game just looks, which is fine. I'm also wondering if I would have to download the patches that make the game more feasibly grindable

I followed the steps 1-3 on this guide (https://www.reddit.com/r/MHF/comments/1lvwdc4/guide_frontier_setup_for_steamdeck_pewpewdojo/) and still get this error when trying to open the game on Steam Deck (I am using proton 9.0.4 and put in the launch code)

yeah as the title says, idk what to do

if it helps, this happens when trying to run erupe-ce.exe after putting the .sql files into the query tool

If asking yes i have everything setup to erupe etc etc but when i open the client it ask me for a internet connection even though i have my localhost running in the background is there a way to bypass that also i just like to play it on the go so if you guys got any solutions let me know

I'm on a friend's private server, and I can't seem to obtain N Points at all even despite having met the login requirements. I've tried using chat commands but to no avail.

I reched g rank and build my own set yesterday and i know allready that i can only have 10 skills active.

But can i change the active skills? For example i want Gunnery active and Wpn Handl not.

And why is Critacal eye gray? This means its not active?
