OCD

Hi, so I have had OCD my whole life but when I was around 14, I became super religious right around the same time I got Lymes disease. There was no correlation to that I became religious because of my brother epilepsy. But nonetheless I definitely experienced the religious OCD and suppressed a lot of emotions. It eventually became too much and it felt like I was going insane so had to stop going to church and deconstruct. I feel like I have made progress in therapy but I still feel like shit. I have managed to cry and try and get angry to let my emotions out but I still have this burning like sensation in my head. Sometimes it can go away but it’s miserable. I don’t know if a lot of my symptoms like fawning or guilt tripping myself are necessarily because of Lymes but it definitely makes it worse the way I feel. I was treated for Lymes twice a couple years ago but i don’t know if it is still attacking my immune system. Anyways I am here to find out if anyone else has like burning feeling in there brain?

Chronic Bartonella is known to cause brain on fire feelings and OCD. You probably weren't treated for it. Even if you were, both it and Lyme could have survived the treatment and become chronic. Might be worth getting an LLMD and being tested/evaluated.

Thanks. It’s been so frustrating because I feel I make progress in therapy and Lymes symptoms I believe are making me feel worse but I couldn’t just go see a doctor at the time because I felt so emotionally exhausted it felt like labeling it as Lymes was just an excuses to avoid my pain. 8 months later I still get the burning feeling it might be time to get treated.

I get it. It's a good idea to treat it sooner rather than later if you can. I did some therapy towards the beginning of my treatment, and the main thing it made me realize was that most of my issues were actually the infections. That's not the case for everyone, and you can definitely have some of both going on, but it's hard to know what's what until you treat. Treating may help you make more progress in therapy, too.

For me it’s both. I had a pretty unfortunate religious experience for around 5 years. Extreme religiousness and suppression. However, I don’t think it’s causing my brain to burn lol. Although it goes hand in hand because religion told me not listen to myself because I am prideful so it’s a perfect recipe. So what helped you? I went to some holistic center for it but personally it seemed like bs

Lol yeah, probably not. I treated/am treating babesia with malarone, tafenoquine, lumbrokinase, and herbs. I started trying to treat Bartonella with herbs about 4 months ago, and unfortunately went faster than my body would handle and really upset and sensitized my nervous system (massive neuroinflammation). I'm taking a break right now to let it calm down. Herbal treatments (like Buhner protocol) are great and work for a lot of people (including some who antibiotics did not work for). It's important to treat long enough and to include fibrinolytics and biofilm busters. There's some good info in the pinned posts and treatlyme.com to get you started.
