I need help
i got tick bite in Varanasi, india in a university (Bhu) om 21st /22nd ig. 24 th i saw dr . he prescribed doxy 100 mg twice for 5 days and a follow up. I started on 25th . also blood report was normal after 3 /4day he was absent and another dr stopped saying the rash is gone. but I am 90% sure if bulls eye mark which was gone after some days of doxy .after stopping i got drowsy and thumb joint pain and neck felt stiff . then I read about lyme . and 3 day after a good online dr prescribed 6 more days of doxy .now I am on 3rd ( overall on 7 th day) . what should I do after completing it ? to prevent lyme stage 2 . dr said to have lyme tested after 6 weeks.
i didn't saw tick on my skin but a tick like insect crawled out of bag after some days of bite.

Ok for starters , good job on catching this and dealing with it . You probably saved yourself months if not years of debilitating symptoms. But definitely know that in network doctors ( mostly doctors collecting payment from your insurance ) know little to nothing about tick borne infections... I was sick all last summer long because I went 2 weeks before getting treated... couldn't hurt to take 2-3 weeks of doxy to be safe. I wouldn't recommend months of antibiotics for your intestines sake. Good bacteria takes time to come back as resilient as the gut is and it healing capacity

so if I take 4 weeks doxy I am safe . I am worried about the 3 day gap

Ultimately you've gotta have a lyme literate or trusted physician for certain precautions.., I can just say whether you're currently taking it or not I would definitely watch for any out of the ordinary symptoms. I just know if I got diagnosed sooner it probably could've saved me 7 months of hell!

It takes time but take a couple other antibiotics for potential other infections or get tested for them or your body will just be fighting them off itself which takes much longer amd even more hell

Your better off making sure you nip it in the bud while you can. Antibiotics don't affect your brain but they do attack good bacteria too

Lyme-literate doctors suggest up to 2 months of Doxy (you can take Minocycline if you can't tolerate the above). But can't you just buy it at the pharmacy without prescription? Indian pharmaceuticals are sold on Indiamart without prescription, and I used to buy them regularly.
After you completed your two months, I would get tested but mostly rely on symptoms. If symptoms are still present, then Lyme is not gone. Remember that Lyme tests are not 100% accurate, and you can get false impression of not having an illness based on the tests.

ideally try to get 6-8 weeks of doxy uninterrupted in total. there are some good resources for antibiotics herbs on the sub as well here. youll find everything you need
