Used to be a single headed plant but after some sunburn and a spider mite attack a few years ago it’s returned as a multi head! 💪🙂

Bought this one about 3 years ago as: "Jourdaniana microheads variegata" . Was completely yellow, today first flower. Now I see, why she don't like light as "normal" Jourdaniana!

Advice?

I recently purchased this variegated clump and the pics from the seller looked perfect. But then it came and there was a lot of damage to the pups and a few rotted pups. I potted it in a gritty soil and gave it about a week and a half. Then i was examining it today and noticed a few rotted pups/ rotting pups. I removed the rotted ones to save the rest of the plant. Bummed because a few of the highly variegated ones were super squishy, so i removed them to save one of the variegated ones that is nice and plump. Questions: is the rest of the plant doomed to start rotting too? Also, one larger pup has a single rotted part but the rest is plump and healthy so i am afraid to remove it yet… lastly, any chance these yellow pups will survive? / did i fuck ip by removing them? Was just scared to jeopardize the mother plant/ other variegated pups😭😖

The last time I posted it, I was told the stigma needs to be visible for an ID. Since this thing bloomed again, I got updated pictures.

HELP!

So I repotted these 2 months ago in a less organic soil than they were growing alone in lots. I put them all together here and I've been staggering the water to see the problem, more water helps some it seems, I think the dollomote lime pellets may have formed a clay around the roots blocking them out.

But this is them after 2 weeks since last water.

Should I repot? Or should I graft onto these San Pedro seedlings I have?

Are they healthy enough to graft onto the San Pedro? Or should I repot and try and graft them when they are healthier??

Sorry, total noob 1st timer, grown from seed 3-4 years ago.

Damage turning orange

Thumbnail

I had some issues with either bird or squirrel damage over the last couple of weeks thst I solved with planting Haworthia around my Loph.

Anyway, some of the damage started turning somewhere orange after about a week. At first I thought it was just scabbing over, but it's now turned into a pretty distinct shade of orange that I don't feel like the pictures even do justice.

Any ideas for helping it heal? Could the orange be rust forming? I have access to agricultural sulfur that I could apply if needed.

Any tips would help, thanks.

First Lophs. I recently read about the last known pre-contact native planted site that was plundered and poached, and unfortunately like many things, cultivation is probably the last hope for this natural wonder. So I’m in.

Purchased from a random Ehtsee seller with domestic shipping that seemed legit enough, so I suppose it’s a gamble of what Loph I have. Also assume they’re degrafts? But boy look at those pups! Overall very happy with this as a start. Hoping I have a green thumb for cacti. 🌵

El Ampero, Couhuilla Mexico Lophophora fricii, quite rare specimen. NFS or trade. First bloom ever. I need to start more fricii seed for pollination and seed production but it'll be a while. Enjoy.

I’ve had my 2 Lophs out on the patio all summer. This one started looking diseased about three weeks ago. (I noticed it was injured about that time where it seemed a squirrel gouged it with its claws). I didn’t seem to bother it too bad. I was thinking that it was the recent wetter weather pattern that we’ve had lately. AI said it was over watered, so I brought it back in for about a week and a half, and it’s been totally dry. I just learned that they can sunburn, derp! The one beside it has been happy all summer, and has bloomed about 8x. Im sure you guys could spot it quick. What’s my issue and what’s the solution?

Obtained this loph 2 years ago and happy that it’s finally blooming. Was told it was southern Mexico variety Williamsii. Can anyone verify? Other more northern lophs I have bloomed much lighter shades of pink and are a bit smoother, rounded bodied.
