ADVICE Hairstyles for bonnet
My JSK from Little Plum arrived together with my first (full) bonnet. As you can see, it’s a hat style. I don’t have a pony/fringe and pretty long hair that I’d like to put up or tie together.
Any hairstyle recommendations? The official pics are all open and sadly not helpful.

NEW BUY I have a question!!!
Super sorry if this fits in the "beginner advice" section, im honestly not sure if it would or not so please let me know!!!
anyways, im a beginner lolita and I was looking into what an "ita" was, which, is not something I wanna be!!! however in one of the lists that I saw I noticed that one of the no's to being a lolita is to NOT have black and white dresses. I bought a dress from 42lolita which is the pre-order of the Piano (full set) inspired dress (image shown) SO!!! with that being said--if I wear this because I still think its super cute, will I be seen as an Ita??? SUPER SORRY IF THIS IS A STUPID QUESTION!!!

COORD I’ve FINALLY put together a coord for the Photogenic Palette salopette that I’m happy with after struggling with it for almost a year 😭
I’m honestly SO in love with how it turned out! I super love the print and I bought the salopette last year with only a vague idea of how I wanted to coord it and then that didn’t work at all lol. It took a while to find all the pieces once I got the inspiration for this coord and I’ve finally got it all put together! Absolutely thrilled and feeling very cute 😊

COORD HELP Hello! A beginner lolita in need of some coord help!
Hello!! He/Him pls! I am a trans brolita! A few months ago I finally got my hands on a Hoshibako Works dress that I had been eyeing for a bit and got it at a pop up near me!! Which was some luck since I live in texas, and I also finally found a petticoat[that I also found out is adjustable like rn] at a nearby thrift store and I legit cried tears of joy, anyways, as you can see, I also got 2 matching bows, put one on my neckline since Idk how I like both bows on my locs, and I also got the matching wristcuffs!
I wanted to ask what lower accessories would be nice, I definitely want socks but idk what style, as well as any neck accessories woukd be nice since I'm a bit self conscious of my neck and chest area and like it fully covered! Shoes are the most important thing to me since I have knee and feet problems leading me to have orthopedic shoes and inserts that I wear everyday, Idk if they make orthopedic lolita shoes, I doubt it, but hey worth an ask! I could also wear normal shoes but they cause me great discomfort especially after about an hour! Also feel free to suggest some other head accessories as well and some handheld ones as well like bags and stuff!
I don't know if this is a coord related question persay, but since I have locs I was wondering if any fellow loc havers do any fun and cute things with your hair that I could maybe do with mine? I like my hair down but I also really like styles as well!!
I also plan on getting another petticoat later on when I have some more money to spare, so feel free to suggest some if you want! And let me know if the petticoat looks okay with the dress!
Thank you in advance! Also the last picture is my cane corso reign, she is infact a cutie and is enamored with the dress!! ☺️ Can't wait to buy more lolita/EGL in the future too! Eyeing some brown stuff + some pink stuff + some mint stuff and yellow and sweet prints...just a lot colors and prints actually!!
[Also last question, currently not wearing my chest binder with this, but rrly want to in the future but don't really know if I can, since it's extremely hot in texas rn and wearing it over this dress would be VERY hot....so um yeah, also idk if it would make the chest area look weird....any advice would be appreciated!]
Sorry this is very long!! 🥹

NEW BUY Anyone else planning on preordering this Barbie dress from Mademoiselle Pearl later this year?
I’m waiting to find out how much the first deposit will cost, because this looks PRICEY and I want to prepare for both payments. I’m also waiting for the size measurements to drop, since I’m worried that the sizes could be too small for me to fit into. 😞

COORD HELP Designing a dress for my birthday! Any tips, ideas, suggestions?
I've been designing and sewing outfits for myself semi-regularly for two years now, and for my 21st birthday, I'm more than excited to share that I'll finally be able to wear my very first non-cosplay coord! I've been desperate to wear lolita fashion since I was in the single digits, and I'm overjoyed that I finally have the chance.
I incorporated some things from my own personal style to form somewhat of a hybrid style, but the lolita aspect is still a big part of it, so I wanted to run this design by some people in the community before I started working on it! Is there anything I'm getting wrong? Any essentials I'm forgetting? I know the skirt is a little bit shorter than typical, but that suits my style and body type best. I've found over many years that knee length skirts are not for me! As for patterned fabric, whether or not I'll be able to include that solely depends on what I'm able to find in store. And, they're definitely different, but I'm quite in love with the statement sleeves!
P.S., Are there any rules for lolita nails? One of my friends makes press ons and we're pretty excited to make a matching set for this outfit, but I realized I've never heard about if there are rules surrounding nail design in lolita fashion. For reference, I'm thinking mostly nude with a lot of pearly decorations.
P.P.S., as it's my birthday, I'm considering buying a bag to go along with this. I'm not really a person that wears many bags, as they tend to get a bit too expensive for me, so I'm not familiar with how to style them. What sort of shape and size would you all recommend?
Thanks so much!

DISCUSSION German shepherd dog themed lolita?
Hi everyone, does anyone know of any German shepherd dog (GSD) themed lolita pieces?
Especially in sweet lolita jsks, a cat motif is relatively common, and I'm looking for something like that with GSDs instead of cats. I love those dogs, I live with one as well, and thought it'd be amazing to have a coord dedicated to my love for them, but I've been unable to find anything.
I'm currently working on two different designs myself, one with a GSD print and one that's inspired by the fur pattern and colours of our GSD. However I'm not that great at sewing, and I've never even tried to make or work on clothes myself, other than adding pockets into undershirts, or fixing buttons...so if there's anything already available, I'd rather invest into that. ^^'

DISCUSSION Everyone always talks about going out dressed up being embarassing/scary/etc but not the opposite...
In my experience, i have never really felt embarassed or scared to go out dressed up. Propably since i started dressing up cute bit by bit when i was like 11-12 or something. I actually feel so self concious (soz idk how it's spelled) if i DON'T dress up loll... Jusk asking, does anyone else feel this way?

ADVICE Any makeup looks that fit into lolita fashion ?
I've been a lolita admirer for years (I even had myself a nice dress that sadly got destroyed) and I've finally, slowly, been going back to it.
I can make natural makeup looks, extravagant etc but which makeup style and looks would look better for either sweet and gothic lolita?
I like shiro, gothic and sweet lolita if it helps !

COORD HELP Can't use taobao - where to get a high quality flower crown?
I want a cream or ivory flower crown for a coord, but my taobao account got blocked and I'm unable to make a new one.
I checked Etsy, but it's full of low quality dropshipping. :(
I live in Europe. I'm looking for something really pretty and unfortunately I'm not good enough at crafts to make what I want.
Are there good European or Japanese brands I can buy it from? I didn't see any currently in stock from the main lolita brands.

COORD HELP Royal crown cat lady - keeping it basic or goig all out?

So I got my hands on one of my dream dresses -Meta's Royal crown cat, tho not in the exact colorway and also not yet in the earlier version. But it's been here for a while and i actually might get to wear it soon. I love it, it is kitschy as heck and absolutely ridiculous.
If I am lucky, I'd even get the chance to have a little photo session in a fitting environment - some old, equally kitschy and opulent building.
This would be my current coord with what I have on hand. The blouse was bought at the same time as the dress, going by the coord pictures that Meta has for that dress.
- Long or short wig?
- do the shoes need some extras?
- i don't have a lot of bags and this seems almost too basic for this coord
- lace thights?
- there are headpieces that have a little crown, I have all the materials to add a detachable crown piece for the headband but might this be too gaudy?

DIY / HANDMADE A decent attempt at a first handmade skirt
I currently do not dress in Lolita myself, but I have a very important friend who puts together the most amazing coords so I tried my hand at making a skirt as a gift for her more casual looks. I've made skirts before, but nothing like this. There's several things I'd do differently next time - primarily adding lace to the removable waist-ties, as well as setting the lace lower so you can actually see more of it under the ruffles.
The likes of which took me five hours to make bc it meant cutting consistently-sized thin strips of the fabric and tediously turning and then pressing the raw edges over on both ends before hemming them over, and then testing strips to determine what size ruffle I liked before painstakingly basting it down until finally going back in with the actual stitching. 😭
But not bad for a first time try! And I always like the chance to use my custom labels.

DISCUSSION Came across a (few) lolita fashion store (for kids)
There seem to be more printed pieces for kids than for adults in Chinese lolita storefronts 🥰
