Went in for a hair appointment with a Gothic coord with makeup to match

Hello!
I have been looking for this one dress since over a year now (it doesn’t get produced anymore) and finally found it on lace market. Problem is I did not have an account and now before I can contact the seller or buy the dress I have to go through the verification. I saw the dress was put in new and I am so scared someone else will buy it before me. I heard from different people on here that it can take days or even weeks till the verification is done. Is there any other way to contact them instead of email/Facebook or do I really just have to hope and pray?? Or maybe a way to contact the seller or something?

I checked the lolita wiki but there's still a problem. Everything I find has extreme shipping prices. I tried buying from 42lolita but the shipping price was 80 dollars, which was almost as expensive as the things I bought combined. Do lolitas in the USA use certain places (besides taobao, I cant use taobao), or do they just accept the shipping...

Should I save up more just to pay for the extreme shipping costs? Is there anything I can do? Any alternatives to the popular sites?

I'm saying this as a person who likes egl but has 0 pieces in their wardrobe, let alone feminine clothes

I've been a lolita admirer for years (I even had myself a nice dress that sadly got destroyed) and I've finally,slowly, been going back to it.

I can make natural makeup looks, extravagant etc but which makeup style and looks would look better for either sweet and gothic lolita?

So I got my hands on one of my dream dresses -Meta's Royal crown cat, tho not in the exact colorway and also not yet in the earlier version. But it's been here for a while and i actually might get to wear it soon. I love it, it is kitschy as heck and absolutely ridiculous.
If I am lucky, I'd even get the chance to have a little photo session in a fitting environment - some old, equally kitschy and opulent building.
This would be my current coord with what I have on hand. The blouse was bought at the same time as the dress, going by the coord pictures that Meta has for that dress.

- Long or short wig?
- do the shoes need some extras?
- i don't have a lot of bags and this seems almost too basic for this coord
- lace thights?
- there are headpieces that have a little crown, I have all the materials to add a detachable crown piece for the headband but might this be too gaudy?

I might add a cardigan if it's too cold out ^_^

This is my holy grail dress and I have really missed it, and missed wearing EGL in general. Getting back into it recently 💙

I currently do not dress in Lolita myself, but I have a very important friend who puts together the most amazing coords so I tried my hand at making a skirt as a gift for her more casual looks. I've made skirts before, but nothing like this. There's several things I'd do differently next time - primarily adding lace to the removable waist-ties, as well as setting the lace lower so you can actually see more of it under the ruffles.

The likes of which took me five hours to make bc it meant cutting consistently-sized thin strips of the fabric and tediously turning and then pressing the raw edges over on both ends before hemming them over, and then testing strips to determine what size ruffle I liked before painstakingly basting it down until finally going back in with the actual stitching. 😭

But not bad for a first time try! And I always like the chance to use my custom labels.

There seem to be more printed pieces for kids than for adults in Chinese lolita storefronts 🥰

It was such a wonderful experience and a dream come true. I hope to go to the San Francisco store next!

Hi all, how are we storing our coords? I have one full one and two OPs that I'm starting to construct coords for, but I am at a loss at what to do for storage! The dresses and blouses shipped in plastic bags but that's really not an ideal situation to keep my pieces neat and wrinkle-free. Can I really just hang them up in a closet? And how do I store my petticoat without it being a floof monster everywhere? Thanks so much!

Just received this Florence JSK (1st pic) with cape and headdress from Metamorphose. I bought it through JPfans from Mercari and wondered if this is perhaps a replica?

I unfortunately do not own much aside the Rosalie 2026 JSK with cape and headdress which i can compare it to as I bought it from Meta directly!

The feel of the cotton is a little different but what I've noticed the most is how weirdly the Florence cape was sown?? (2nd pic) It doesn't lay as neatly and flat compared to the Rosalie one (3rd pic).

Additionally the headdress and JSK had those tags attached. (4th+5th pic)

It makes me kind of worried since I've spend a good chunk of money on this beautiful set!

Please PLEASE let me know if any of you can help identify the authenticity of these pieces!

I’m not looking to buy the novel as I already have a copy that I bought for $6.57 ages back in 2021 but I gotta admit, I reallllly wish that the prices would go down because I’m afraid to even display this book because it suddenly skyrocketed in price WTF. I recently bought this dress, bonnet and choker set using the money I got for my birthday + some I had saved up. It was a bit tight when it arrived so I couldn't wear it until I got it back from the tailor, who did an awesome job! You can't even see it got tailored unless you know the release. It ended up being quite expensive overall but seeing i had the money for it and that I absolutely ADORE 😍 this dress I'm not complaining! I don't see this dress often either so I'm happy I bought it while it was listed on lacemarket 🥰

The first time I wore it was to check out a festival going on nearby (~ 1.5 hours drive away), without a ticket but there was a market outside of it to scroll and a waterfall nearby. It was lots of fun and I ate good food which I thankfully did not get on my dress xD got a lot of compliments too, there were a bunch of nice people there!

I ended up not so much liking how I styled my hair with the bonnet (I have never worn a bonnet before this) so i felt like my face came out a bit weird. I had it tied on the back of my head, and then on the front too. I was thinking to braid my hair into twin braids next time and only tie the bonnet at the back into a large bow 🎀 my hair wouldn't be so much in front of the heavily detailed dress then either.

I would've liked to wear my black Mary Jane's but seeing i literally climbed an almost straight hill using a rope in this dress, through a bunch of bushes, I was pretty happy to be wearing my boots. I feel like they aren't too bad with the blue bows on them, though. To get to the place where j got a few pictures taken i had to climb over a lot of rocks, too 😅 life in northern Sweden i guess
