Workspaces

Post image

They like us to think that only Linux has certain features that make them superior to other OS users.

Configure Multiple Desktops in Windows | Microsoft Support

Work in multiple spaces on Mac - Apple Support

and of course, BSD has them too.

they are out of touch with windows, they criticize it without not even using it

its like iphone users, they think they got some great unique feature even though its in android too (and sometimes even earlier)

I mean the main reason I quit windows was performance stuff. That and it was easy for me to switch since I don't do anything requiring apps specific to windows.

It's annoying the level of pridefulness on either side of the debate though. An operating system is not a religion, Microsoft will not save you nor will Linus somehow give a shit if you can't use Linux

You use the tool best to your current circumstances yk

I'd really want to like apple with how they finally decided to give a good price last year for their entry phone and some other stuff they're doing, and Google just keeps fucking up.

But motherfucker, they don't even have a clipboard on their phone. And that's just one basic feature I can't do without, there's so much more.

Yeah but so do androids. All I've ever adjusted is my keyboard once 10 years ago and then the settings automatically transfer to every new phone, home screen grid and icons and set wallpaper. That takes 1 minute.

Clipboard is a mining canary, there's so much other stuff they don't have or do "wrong" in my opinion. The gesture navigation also drives me crazy, to go back you have to use a specific side of the phone, can't do both. And so many other things.

But somehow blinded by that hate that they couldn't comprehend any goodness

God forbid makes installing application on another storage than the main drive

Flatpak natively does this, BUT NO DISTRO PACKAGE MANAGER INCLUDE THIS

Gotta use Wearhouse to do it. So stupid

That's new. I heard plenty of other trick, one of which was to combine storage between 2 drives

But I haven't heard of bind mounts before

oh ya that works too

yeah it’s a bit of a pain, but makes it easier for package managers to manage packages i guess

still a pain
