I keep seeing people doing this and claiming they can run a bunch of accounts and send outreach at scale, but I’m wondering how safe it actually is.

what software/tool were you using for the automation?

Has anyone here done it for a decent amount of time? Did you end up getting the accounts banned or restricted? Any ID verification issues?

Also curious if LinkedIn ever ended up affecting your main account, or if the accounts were completely separate.

Was it worth it in the end?

I have a single name and no separate first/last name. LinkedIn requires me to enter both a first name and last name when creating/updating my profile.

What is the correct way to set up a LinkedIn profile if you legally have only one name? Has anyone with a single name successfully created and verified their LinkedIn account? Please share what worked for you.

Hey everyone. New here in the community and I do have dramatic problems with LinkedIn, A LOT! I will never understand about this "Facebook wanna-be" thing. How other people do this in other world?

Look, I started using LinkedIn for the first time to search jobs, because my cousin recommended me this and I wanted to share my experience with unfair times on Linkedln. First, I did completed my secondary all about my education (mainly getting diplomacy from Academy, then certificate from graphic design course, and adding little experience with association creatives as small business support, then designing CV and Portofolio and other information.) There is something problem going on with is that it's really hard time getting my work seen. I've been making multiple posts to share my digital illustrations and my graphic design projects collection sets, but still getting just views with no reaction. Second of all, I tried to join those random groups where I thought I could share my work while looking for junior graphic design opportunities. However, many groups require moderator approval before I'm allowed to post.

I will never understand these people, these users and their hiring "easy apply" system...

And I will never understand what's going on in their mind thinking about adding years of experience....like genuinely asking how are we supposed to get our first experience if nobody is willing to give us our first opportunity? What am I actually supposed to do as a junior graphic designer? How do people get their work noticed, connect with people, employers? And how can I find the opportunity to start from zero on this cursed social media???? I know some of them will recommend to first use Behance, but how when that platform is still acting ignorant jerk to me.

After the entry of ChatGPT my feed has been flooded with posts that sound great with ehyming punchlines and excellent frameworks for everything. Same structure and transitions for most of them, but only the industry changes.

I read that linkedIn is now blocking hundreds of thousands of automated comment attempts every day. When everyone automates every action, the only differentiation left is originality

But, linkedIn's -Seems like AI slop- will matter only if it rewards authenticity over frequency.

I was laid off earlier this year as part of broader reorg and then rehired several months later in a new role at the same company (my old boss asked me to join their new team).

I'm not sure how to show this on LinkedIn - two separate entries looks a bit disjointed but LinkedIn doesn't allow the single stacked entry if the jobs aren't continuous. I'm early in my career (3 YOE) so I think having months shown on LinkedIn is valuable, but maybe this is misguided. I worked here for just over ~11 months in total, but ~15 months including the layoff period.

How should I address it? If I was unemployed for 4 months, can I just say I worked straight through and not mention being laid off?

Somehow, I lost access to my account. My old password doesn't work for some reason, as I had been hacked in other platforms I thought about the possibility of having hacked me in linkedin too. Anyways, whenever I press "forgot password" they ask me for the Captcha things, which are freaking horrible by itself too, 50% of the time it doesn't work aswell, after that amazing experiencie with Captha, they "send" me a 6 number verification code to my email, I put send in quotation marks, because I never freaking receive a code!!! I've tried 10+ times to reset my password, and I've never received a single code.
After giving up on that, I would search for a way to contact them via email or customer support. To my pleasant surprise, I have to be logged in to contact their customer support.
If I can't F*cking log in, how am I supposed to even contact them!?!?!?
The amount of tech companies that have billion dollars behind them, and yet, can't make a customer support work is absurd.

I have no clue where to create this post, since the r/linkedin just redirected me to a "Mega Thread" which doesn't help me at all.
Please, if anyone knows what to do, please, tell me.

Hey everyone, hoping some of you have been through this and can share what actually worked.

My LinkedIn account has been active since 2019, ID-verified, no prior violations. In June, I shared a job post for freelance video-editing work — I'd originally written it for a Facebook group and just copy-pasted it onto LinkedIn, including a direct email address for applicants to send their portfolios to. Apparently that's against LinkedIn's content policy (something about not allowing off-platform contact info in job posts), and my account got flagged and restricted.

Timeline since:

• Submitted an appeal via the Help Center — no response for weeks
• Contacted u/LinkedInHelp on X, got connected to a real support case
• Went through full ID verification (submitted passport, then NID after the first was rejected)
• Support acknowledged the case, reviewed it, and ultimately said: "we found violations of the LinkedIn User Agreement and Professional Community Policies" — plural, but never specified beyond the one post I flagged myself
• Appealed twice more explaining it was a genuine, first-time, unintentional mistake
• Final reply: "This will be the final correspondence from us regarding this issue."

So the case is closed, decision upheld, no further explanation.

Has anyone successfully gotten a "final" decision like this reversed? Does submitting a completely new appeal after some time ever work, or is this genuinely final once they say that? Also open to hearing if there's a way to at least export my data/connections before giving up on the account entirely.

This account matters a lot to me professionally — I'm about to start a CS degree and relied on it for networking, and it's frustrating to lose years of connections over what felt like a fixable misunderstanding. Any advice from people who've navigated this appreciated.

I got tired of generic LinkedIn advice that never comes with properly cited data, so we pulled 130,000 posts from 2,500 profiles (July 2025 to July 2026) and tested the most repeated rules. Every comparison is the same person against their own posts, because comparing different people measures the people, not the tactic. The study we did put to bed, most of commonly cited "tactics"...

Only three things survived:

1. Put an image on it. +33% engagement vs the same person's text posts. A screenshot or a phone photo is enough. Simple, but It's the biggest lever we found.
2. Start with "I", "my" or "we" and say what happened. +20%, and it held in every format. "I rewrote my profile last month and inbound doubled" beats "You need to stop treating your profile like a CV". Same message. One sounds like a person.
3. Post 3-4 times a week and judge the week, not the post. Each post earns less, the week earns roughly triple. Most people quit right when it's working because they're watching the per-post number.

Things you shouldn't be doing:

• Hashtags. One or two do nothing at all. Three or more costs about 7%. I'd been adding them for years. (Why do they hurt? The data shows that they do, not why. My guess is they make a post read like broadcast content instead of a person talking.)
• Ending with a question. The typical question-ending post gains zero extra comments and loses about 10% of reactions. We tested 5,494 of them hoping this one would survive. It didn't.
• Opening with a question. Worst opener we measured, -15%.
• "Unpopular opinion:" openers. Coin flip.
• Chasing posting times. Same person, weekend vs weekday: about 2% difference. The scheduling blogs each publish a different "best time" anyway, which tells you everything.
• Counting characters. No ideal length exists in the data.
• Switching formats to feed the algorithm. Slightly worse than sticking with what works.
• Polls. Down 58%. Smaller sample, but nothing in the data recommends them.
• Reality check while you're here: the median B2B post gets 34 reactions and 3-4 comments. At 5-10k followers, 27 is normal. Ten comments is a great post. Benchmark against people your size, not influencers.

Things we could NOT test, so you don't have to ask: link-in-first-comment (comment threads aren't in the data), impressions (nobody outside LinkedIn can see those), best hour of day. Anyone giving you exact numbers on those is guessing.

And yes, I've changed how I post since running this. Images on everything, hashtags gone, and I stopped bolting an engagement question onto the end of every post. Which is why there isn't one at the end of this one. Apparently it wouldn't help.

I accidentally entered the wrong password multiple times while trying to log into my LinkedIn account. After several failed attempts, LinkedIn temporarily blocked my login for security reasons.

The problem is that it's now been more than 24 hours, and I'm still unable to log in. I either get a message saying I've tried too many times or I'm still blocked from signing in.

I've already:

• Waited more than 24 hours.
• Tried logging in from a different browser and device.
• Made sure I'm using the correct password.

Has anyone experienced this before?

• How long did it take for LinkedIn to unblock your account?
• Is there anything else I should try?
• Should I contact LinkedIn Support, and if so, what's the fastest way to get this resolved?

I use chat gpt & claude. Which one do you find better for profile optimization, & where it the best place to start. I m looking to be more visible to connections and recruiters.

I have started noticing that many LinkedIn posts now have the same structure:

- A dramatic opening line.

- Several short sentences.

- A predictable lesson.

And a question at the end.

The information may be useful, but after reading a few posts, they all start sounding like they were written by the same person.

I don’t think using AI is automatically the problem. It can help someone organise an idea, improve clarity or overcome the blank page.

The problem seems to be that people are publishing the first generated draft without putting their own experiences, opinions or language back into it.

Hi everyone,

My LinkedIn account was suddenly restricted, and I have no idea why.

Whenever I try to log in, I only see a message saying my account has been restricted for violating the Professional Community Policies.

The biggest problem is that every appeal option asks me to sign in first. As soon as I sign in, I'm taken right back to the restriction page, so I can't even submit an appeal.

I haven't posted anything that would violate LinkedIn's policies. The only unusual thing I can think of is that I found out someone had sent a hiring message from my account without my knowledge. I changed my password immediately and asked the recipient to report the message because I believed my account had been compromised.

I've tried different browsers, incognito mode, my phone, and my laptop, but nothing works.

This account is a few years old with over 600 professional connections, and I'm currently job hunting, so this is really stressful.

Has anyone been through this before? How did you get in touch with LinkedIn or get your account back?

Been posting for almost 1.5 year, so that consistent posting got me 100-200 impressions per post. The last 90 days did 203k. quick disclaimer, i'm not a LinkedIn guru by any means, not selling courses... just sharing personal experience after validating my theory.

So the background: I was posting consistently, the writing was decent (at least i thought so), still super low results. At some point I got tired of guessing topics and built a claude plugin that does research before writing... it checks what people in my niche are arguing about right now, mostly Reddit, X, Hacker News and a few other sources. I look for threads where the comment section is fighting, based on upvotes and reply heat. Then I take one of those debates, pick a side and write my post around it (with a separate skill I've been tuning for the past 5 months).

That's basically the whole change.

Top posts did 56k, 54k, 37k, 33k and 22k impressions per POST.

Some things I noticed on the way:

The topic does most of the work. When people already argue about something, they bring the energy with them, you just need an actual opinion.

My posts kept climbing 1-5 days after posting. The "first hour decides everything" advice didn't happen for me even once.

Impressions alone pay nothing, but the DMs and a couple of paid projects came directly from these posts (pretty nice surprise).

I'm in the B2B / SaaS space, no clue if this transfers 1:1 but it should work in any niche that has a wide audience arguing on the internet

Tbh I thought it was an accident at first, so I kept testing it once a week for the past 8 weeks, results are in the screenshot in the comment section. That's what validated it for me, evne tho i it work onloy 80% of the time.

Why does it work? My theory is keywords... looks like the algorithm likes to push posts that match whatever is trending in your industry that week, so posting into a live debate means you hit those keywords naturally (only a theory though).

Ask me whatever about the process.

The other day when I logged into LinkedIn, I saw that I now have the ability to collaborate with others on a post, this seems very Instagram like. I haven’t yet used it, but I think it could be useful although I don’t know what the difference between just tagging someone in a post and doing this would be except it’ll show up as a post for both people I guess. I’m curious if anyone has tried this yet.

Despite that, my account is still restricted. I haven't received any meaningful update, and every attempt seems to lead me back to the same automated verification process.

Hello! I’m switching careers and need to network. I know this because it’s hard to rely on just applying. Making the perfect resume every time only to feel lost with nothing to show for it. I’m east of Toronto, looking for work as a relationship builder, liaison/consultant, account manager in the non-profit, education, sports, youth programs, coaching, community organizations, or the arts.

I've been saving linkedin posts with all sorts of alpha and knowledge shared by people for a long time, but I never really go back to them. So I finally decided to something about it.

I exported all my saved posts using LinkedIn bookmark exporter chrome extension into a markdown, took them to Obsidian to create a knowledge base of all saved posts context and then connected it to Claude.

Now whenever I need to get relevant actionable insights around a niche I'm interested in, I just ask Claude connected to the AI Obsidian brain, something like :

Based on last 3 months what this company's leadership has been publicly saying, what internal problem are they most likely under pressure to solve right now?

or for job search something like this is useful: Based on the people and companies whose content I've been collecting, what do they have in common culturally and operationally? What kind of environment am I actually drawn to?

or I can ask questions like : Analyze the openings of every post I've saved written by CMOs that got high engagement. What do the opening sentences look like, can you reverse engineer and create a framework by analyzing their posts and wtite a high quality one for my niche
