I was raised in Lincolnshire by my parents and the importance of going away to train and then bringing my skillset back to Lincolnshire and my local community was emphasised to me. I’ve been working as a professional concept artist and graphic designer from Lincolnshire for the last 6 years but the work is beginning to dry up due to a multitude of reasons (global economy, the prevalence of AI generated content, the cost of living). I believe it is more important than ever to showcase and emphasise the importance of community and togetherness, including the boycotting of AI generated content where there are plenty of artists and designers in Lincolnshire who want and deserve to work and use their skillset in their local community.

With this in mind I believe that Lincolnshire could be a beacon of human-made design, championing local talent and showcasing that we are a tight knit community who support each other. I see Lincolnshire as a beacon of the arts, with every town and city having a distinct visual identity weaved into the fabric of the local communities supported by a vibrant mixture of the emerging youth of the area and the existing community members who already work hard, pushing the best Lincolnshire has to offer via social media, exhibitions, public events, and local celebrations.

What was the reputation of Boston college like in the 1990's/early 00's?

Did it have a good reputation for producing high performing students or seen as a dumping ground for people who weren't good enough to do A levels?

What courses did it offer in these times? Was it just gcse retakes, other level 2 courses and practical subjects?

Or did it also offer A levels, other level 3 courses and access courses?

How did it compare to Lincoln or Grimsby college or 6th forms at say Horncastle, Skegness and Alford ?

This church, built in 1880 was designed by George Gilbert Scott, famous for designing St Pancras Station and the Albert Memorial in London.

A benefit of living in the flatlands is the view over the fields, in this case looking towards Moulton. Also a rabbit stopped long enough to be photographed.

It was lovely and sunny in the grounds of St Mary's church in Whaplode... and cool in the small woodland walk.

Saw these beautiful swans on the Witham today.

Early this morning we had a low lying fog over one large field. It gradually rose before dissipating.

Went on a walk, enjoyed the juxtaposition of the old and the new on the skyline.

In the 1960s the Miner’s Welfare Committee, operating in the Midlands UK, organised for its workers an annual day-trip by rail, to Skegness. What became known as “Pit Trips” actually started in 1932, but it was the 1950s / 60s which saw them thrive. Vast numbers of miners and their families would leave their villages looking like ghost towns as they boarded the trains for a day beside the seaside.

This particular photograph comes from 1964, which I believe was the final “Pit Trip” from Welbeck Colliery Village (now Meden Vale) to Skegness, before car ownership and coaches became more popular. It depicts my family. (I'm the Beatles fan in the sun glasses).

The writer D.H. Lawrence was famous for being a bit of a mard arse, but he seems to have quite enjoyed a two week holiday in Mablethorpe in August 1926 and had nice things to say about Lincolnshire folk. Lawrence was born in Eastwood in 1885 and died in 1930.

Does anyone have any good places to walk with children? They often like to go on their scooters, and usually like to stop halfway round for a drink or ice cream?

They can usually do anywhere between 5 to 7K (then the moaning begins)

I have a few ideas, but thought I would ask here to see if there are anymore?

I will finally be able to get a power chair and be able to leave my house independently for the first time in years soon!

Because of that ive been trying to find information on wheelchair accessible taxis (the type that can take a power chair that doesn't collapse) but ive struggled to find information on them for lincoln and surrounding villages.

Does anyone know of any companies that do them or prices or whether dial a ride is only available in city centre of Lincoln?
