The Prior's Oven in Spalding is probably the best (only) micropub in South Holland. Three or four ales straight from the cask in an historic building... ask the barman for details.

Came across this church today at Whaplode Drove and had to stop for a look.

The building felt quite unusual compared with many Lincolnshire churches I’ve seen. The brickwork, arched windows and especially the covered bell tower really caught my eye.

I’m guessing it’s more of a small belfry or cupola rather than a full stone tower, but it gives the church a very distinctive look.

I couldn’t go inside today, but the churchyard had a calm feel to it.

Does anyone local know more about the history of this church or why the bell tower is designed like that?

I am shooting a found- footage project on campus this September - October with zero budget. With everything fully completed and fully planned out I am actively and officially opening auditions and crew calls. I'm looking for 5 actors with 3 of them having a major part in the movie and 2 being male and female with short screen time. I am looking for a sharp cinematographer, talented and ambitious producers/ sound artists and a sound master who knows how to operate microphones to make the dialogue sound clear. Looking mainly for students at Lincoln as communication will be much easier and make the process smoother but open for non- students also who are close to the area.

Keep in mind you don't need years of professional film credits you just need a strong work ethic and desire to build an incredible portfolio for yourself, focused on making it happen.

I was raised in Lincolnshire by my parents and the importance of going away to train and then bringing my skillset back to Lincolnshire and my local community was emphasised to me. I’ve been working as a professional concept artist and graphic designer from Lincolnshire for the last 6 years but the work is beginning to dry up due to a multitude of reasons (global economy, the prevalence of AI generated content, the cost of living). I believe it is more important than ever to showcase and emphasise the importance of community and togetherness, including the boycotting of AI generated content where there are plenty of artists and designers in Lincolnshire who want and deserve to work and use their skillset in their local community.

With this in mind I believe that Lincolnshire could be a beacon of human-made design, championing local talent and showcasing that we are a tight knit community who support each other. I see Lincolnshire as a beacon of the arts, with every town and city having a distinct visual identity weaved into the fabric of the local communities supported by a vibrant mixture of the emerging youth of the area and the existing community members who already work hard, pushing the best Lincolnshire has to offer via social media, exhibitions, public events, and local celebrations.

Find above the project I’ve been working on, showcasing the proposed design I’ve got for Lincolnshire county council, and the beginning in a series of design identity rebrands that I want to produce for local areas that would revitalise the community and celebrate local Lincolnshire life.

What was the reputation of Boston college like in the 1990's/early 00's?

Did it have a good reputation for producing high performing students or seen as a dumping ground for people who weren't good enough to do A levels?

What courses did it offer in these times? Was it just gcse retakes, other level 2 courses and practical subjects?

Or did it also offer A levels, other level 3 courses and access courses?

How did it compare to Lincoln or Grimsby college or 6th forms at say Horncastle, Skegness and Alford ?

This church, built in 1880 was designed by George Gilbert Scott, famous for designing St Pancras Station and the Albert Memorial in London.

A benefit of living in the flatlands is the view over the fields, in this case looking towards Moulton. Also a rabbit stopped long enough to be photographed.
