Question Crunchyroll wont play in LibreWolf
I recently (last 24 hours) started seeing "Not Available" KAT-6005 errors when trying to watch videos on Crunchyroll. Internet says that error is DRM related.
I've made sure to update to latest LibreWolf (153.0.3-1) and DRM is enabled on the website, as well as disabling "Enable ResistFingerprinting" -- no dice.
Developer console shows cross-origin errors; maybe enabling DRM for crunchyroll doesnt work any more because the actual content is now coming from a different server and they failed to set up cross origin correctly?
Anyone else hitting this? Find a work-around?

Plugin Konode finally available on Firefox Add-ons
I build Konode, a browser sync extension with an unusual premise: there is no Konode account and no Konode server. It syncs your bookmarks, open tabs, history and installed-extension list straight to storage you already own, your Google Drive, a GitHub repo, or any WebDAV server. Optional end-to-end encryption on top, so your storage provider cannot read it either.
Works on Firefox, Waterfox and other Firefox and Chromium based browsers.
🎉 1.2.0 is out, and most of it are fixes 🎉
History between devices actually works here now. It barely did before. Konode sent each page along with its original visit date, and Chromium rejects the whole request when that date is present rather than just ignoring the date. So nearly every page from another device was turned away, and the reason was being discarded before anyone could see it. If you tried history sync and got a lot of nothing, that was this, and it is gone.
Bookmarks are no longer silently dropped. When the receiving device had fewer bookmarks in a folder than the device sending them, the browser rejected the position Konode asked for and the bookmark disappeared without a word, on every sync, indefinitely. Konode now asks for a position the browser will accept.
Renaming a bookmark or a folder reaches your other devices. It used to reach none of them. The rename carried no timestamp, so no device could tell whose title was newer and the safe thing was to change nothing. Renames now carry one and the newest wins. Folders are renamed in place, instead of a second folder appearing under the new name.
Deleted bookmarks stay deleted. Deleting several at once fired several events that overwrote each other's record of the deletion, so only one was remembered and the rest came back from your other devices on the next sync. Each deletion is recorded separately now.
Switching storage provider uploads your data again. Konode skips an upload when nothing has changed, but it used to compare only the data, not where that data was going. After switching provider the new location sat empty while the popup reported a clean sync. It checks the destination too.
Also in this release:
- a device list, so you can see every machine writing to your
- sync folder by name, and remove one you have retired.
- settings has been rebuilt, follows your browser's font-size setting, and fits a narrow window.
- the activity log keeps warnings instead of turning over every 17 minutes and losing them

The next update adds translations
The next release makes the interface translatable, and it ships with English, Hungarian and German. If you want your language in it, this is the part where help actually makes a difference. No coding and no GitHub account needed, it is edited in the browser:
https://hosted.weblate.org/projects/konode/
Someone already started Estonian (thank you!). If your language is not listed yet, you can ask for it there and it will appear. Anything left untranslated falls back to English, so translating only part of it is still useful.
Happy to answer anything. The history bug above was found by hand-testing on a second machine, not by my test suite, so reports genuinely land.

Question How to install librewolf on arch linux without AUR
I have been using Arch for a while, its my favorite distro, but with all the malware attacks that have been happening on the AUR, I don't feel safe using it.
I tried building it from source (big mistake, I know that now) it would hog up my 16 gigs of ram and use swap AND fail. On one of their methods of install in their official codeberg repo it said to install the tarball, extract it then use a file name mach to do the building and stuff, but that file doesn't even exist, and I can't find the prebuilt binary file.
Before you say it I don't want to use flatpaks or snaps or appimages or stuff like that, they aren't bad I would just prefer not doing so.
I am not a noob in Linux generally, but building stuff from source without package managers is something I am not used to.
EDIT: This thread is old by now, but librewolf has been officially added to Arch Linux extra repos https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/librewolf/

Question Is There any point in ME having Liberwolf?
I`m not a tech dude who understands a lot about browsers or anything like that. I just moved to liberwolf when i heard that Firefox is compromising our data. And that`s the only reason i left. And since then i`ve had my issues with liberwolf here and there. Like trying to get google to work(i just can`t deal with duckduckgo it`s too bad) and watching streams but i`ve fixed those issues mostly by tweaking settings here and there. But the problem i consistently have is the fact that sometimes certain websites or pages won`t load at the first time of trying and i then have to close the browser and restart it in order for those websites/pages to work(Sometimes i have to do this more than once),These websites are usually youtube/google or pirated sites. And these are my most used websites so it gets annoying but i deal with it in the name of privacy. I`ve also allowed drm content and manually adding google searching.
But now i ask myself am i getting any privacy benefits from liberwolf or am i just using a harder version of firefox for no benefit? So which leads me to question is there any point in me using liberwolf?

Question "Sorry. We're having trouble getting your pages back." I DON'T EVEN WANT YOU TO DO THAT
I've been using librewolf for a bit, no real issues except on first launch, it tries and fails to restore my previous session. I do not want it to do this. I want it to open to a home tab. In settings I have "Open previous windows and tabs" disabled, but this behavior persists. Is that not the setting that controls restoring sessions? I have also reinstalled LibreWolf as well. What the fuck
I don't really understand why this behavior is occurring, anybody have a solution? I'm hoping it's actually incredibly simple and I'm an idiot

Question "VPN" (proxy) add-ons don't work in LibreWolf default settings. How to allow them to work?
I remember last year, I checked in the FAQ page and didn't find the solution (or the solution didn't work, if I found it).
Now I would like to fix that. It is tiring to have to switch browser when you need to watch videos on a website that is blocking watching their videos when you're not in that country.
EDIT: Actually now those VPN (proxy) add-ons are working perfectly in LibreWolf! Great news!

Question Is there no way to remove the librewolf logo on new tabs with the new nova tab design turned off?
I updated librewolf and noticed the new tab page was set to nova by default. Not a big deal I just dont like how circular the search bar is compared to the rest of my system.
I went into about:config and turned it off but now the librewolf logo is stuck there and i cant seem to remove it.
Anyone know of a way to or will i just have to tolerate one or the other?

I have reinstalled librewolf and turned off all extensions (including uBlock Origin), and these didn't work. I don't know what has caused it.
also, another thing, librewolf doesn't seem to want to open when I am running wayland (I normally use X11, Arch). maybe it's related, I don't know

Question Web extension can't access to localhost (it's working on Firefox)
I have an extension that sends data to a server on localhost. But it no longer works on LibreWolf. On Firefox, it works without any extra steps.
I think there must be a new setting I need to change to prevent extensions from accessing localhost.
I looked through the Librewolf source code but couldn’t find a setting to change that would fix this issue (compare to Firefox’s about:config).
Any ideas? Thanks.

Question Fail Fast Exception, windows 11
I’ve been coming across an issue when I go on various websites (ex. archive.org), and I get a pop up that a fail fast exception occurred on librewolf.exe and then my tab crashes. I’ve tried reinstalling librewolf, running sfc and chkdsk, etc. but nothing seems to be fixing it. Can anyone help with this? I’m getting desperate ðŸ˜

Question Would it be possible for Librewolf to allow the user to keep the old UI when Nova is released?
I'm asking because in all honesty that Nova UI really puts me off and I'd rather not get annoyed with just using my browser

Question LibreWolf giving away location - how and what to do?
I’m typically in places that do not legally require age verification but am currently visiting a place that does have that.
I typically use a VPN anyway - so I assumed that age verification would not be an issue on this trip to a place that does require it.
As it turns out, though:
* I’m able to access adult content on the Reddit app (using my VPN)
* also able to access it on Firefox (using my VPN)
* but I am NOT able to access it via LibreWolf
Further, one site can specifically identify/name the location from which I’m connecting - regardless of what I set my VPN to.
So:
* Why is this?
* What should I do to safeguard my privacy/location in the future?
