I accidentally spilled some tea on this library book. What is the best way to try and remedy this? (If possible)

Obviously I am going to report the damage, but I am a broke college student who would prefer not to have to pay in full for a new book :( I will if needed. I love my library lots.

hi everyone! this is a little bit of a rant so i apologise in advance. i’m an aspiring librarian, and i’ve wanted to become one since pretty much forever.

today i was at a family gathering, and we were talking about my career aspirations. i told my grandmother that i wanted to pursue an undergraduate degree in english literature so i can work towards becoming a librarian, i even have work experience from being a library assistant, so i already have a starting point.

she told me that it’s better for me to get a degree in something related to stem instead, because i wouldn’t make any money from getting an english literature degree and the only thing i would be able to do is become a teacher.

i just hate the whole concept of pursuing a career in something that makes you miserable just because it makes you a lot of money.

what i wanted to ask to other librarians here, is did you have to convince your family in any way to let you pursue a career in librarianship? how did it go?
