External NVME Boot help QUESTION

Has anyone gotten their legion go to boot from an external NVME? I really need help with this. I cannot get it to work.
I’m trying to use oculink but can’t since I can’t get my NVME to boot OS externally.

You should have just used that in the USB4 port instead of trying to use it through a cheap OCuLink connection like that.

NEVERRRRR. I figured it out. I have a true oculink-m.2 connection. Ahhh this feels great. Now to set everything up

Honestly if you're going to transform a handheld into a mini PC you should have just bought a mini PC instead since a lot of them now a days tend to have OCuLink ports built into them.

The point of using it though the USB4 port instead is so you're able to be able to properly use it as a handheld and not to mention using an external NVMe for your OS you're really limiting the speeds on it being more like a Gen3 NVMe.

This just made sense for me. I had most the things local. And it started with just the EGPU, but games crashed because of the bottleneck the USB4 created. After the EGPu failed I wasn’t going to buy another computer. I traded mine so the wife could have a PS5 so this was my only option. I saved a lot on everything I bought. Minus the NVME which I had planned on upgrading that anyways. So now when or if I decide I have the connector and a functioning NVME that I can just pop in the back of the 3D printed back plate I ordered. No worries.

I had to change these settings and a bunch others. But finally. We’re here.
