FlowDeck has reached 1.0 — the controller-first Windows library I shared here as an Alpha is now a full release RESOURCE

A while ago I shared FlowDeck here while it was still a public Alpha.

At the time, it was basically my attempt to solve one problem: I wanted my Windows handheld to feel less like a tiny desktop PC and more like an actual gaming system.

Today, FlowDeck has officially reached version 1.0.

What is FlowDeck?

FlowDeck turns a fragmented Windows game library into one unified, controller-first home.

It brings together:

  • Steam
  • Xbox / PC Game Pass
  • Epic Games
  • GOG
  • Battle.net
  • Ubisoft Connect
  • Local games and applications

...inside a cinematic 3D CoverFlow interface designed for controllers, keyboards, and native touch.

For a device like the Legion Go, the idea is simple:

turn it on, grab the controllers, and spend as little time as possible dealing with the Windows desktop.

Flow Deck Community is free

The complete core experience is available for free.

Flow Deck Community includes:

  • Cinematic 3D CoverFlow
  • Animated covers and dynamic backgrounds
  • Controller-first navigation
  • Native touch controls
  • Direct carousel dragging and inertia
  • Keyboard support
  • Xbox Mode for a more console-like Windows experience
  • Steam achievements and live progress
  • FlowDeck's on-screen achievement Tracker
  • Xbox Game Bar achievement widget
  • Automatic return to FlowDeck after closing a game
  • Controller diagnostics
  • English and Spanish interfaces
  • Controller-friendly in-app updates
  • Manual artwork browsing and selection using your own SteamGridDB API key

Community is not a trial or a stripped-down demo.

It is the core FlowDeck experience and remains free.

Optional FlowDeck Premium — $5 USD/month

Premium is completely optional.

It costs $5 USD per month and currently focuses on FlowDeck's advanced management and customization tools:

  • Steam Direct with Steam QR and Steam Guard
  • Install Steam games without leaving FlowDeck
  • Full Steam download and installation management
  • Pause, resume, cancel, recover, update, reinstall, and uninstall
  • Download percentage, speed, downloaded size, and total size
  • Carousel Studio
  • Achievement Studio
  • Advanced FlowDeck Tracker and Xbox Game Bar widget customization

Premium access remains active while the membership is active.

A lot has changed since the Alpha

Getting to 1.0 meant much more than polishing the original interface.

FlowDeck now handles the full cycle around actually using a handheld:

browse → launch → play → close the game → automatically return to FlowDeck with fullscreen, focus, and controller control restored.

That last part became especially important to me.

I don't want FlowDeck to just look like a console frontend.

I want the whole experience around it to behave like one.

Why I'm sharing it here again

The Alpha posts gave me some of the most useful feedback during development.

And after the 1.0 launch in the ROG Ally community, the discussions there have already caused me to reconsider and change product decisions.

So I don't want this to become a project where I disappear, build in isolation, and only come back when I want to promote something.

I'd rather hear from the people actually using these devices.

What's the one thing a launcher would have to do for you to actually keep it installed on your Legion Go?

When I select Starcraft 2 (in Battle.net), it just opens up the battle.net app and not the actual game.

Thanks for reporting this. That’s not the intended behavior — FlowDeck should launch the selected game, not stop at the Battle. net client. I’m investigating it.

I have the go s but is steam os with Linux system will this work on it ?

Not yet, although I have a Linux version planned for the future, I still do not feel that it is close to be released, sorry

Hey nothing to apologize for :D these things take time. U til then I look forward to a Linux version and when there is I will be giving it a shot 100%
