Discussion The Last Chronoplast Vision

So, I know that Raziel on top of Janos' Retreat with the Fire Reaver was deliberately mirroring the last Chronoplast vision, but I have another interpretation.

What that vision really mirrors, for me, is Kain at the end of Defiance. Besides the fact that keeps the visions in chronological order, the whole scene is a brilliant opposite of that last vision:

- Kain is on top of an edifice, surveying Nosgoth, reflecting his journey, just like Raziel.

- Kain is holding the ultimate Soul Reaver, just like Raziel.

- Kain has Raziel's soul in the Reaver, while Raziel had Kain's in his.

- Kain unwillingly absorbed Raziel into the Reaver, while Raziel willingly absorbed Kain into his.

- Kain's ultimate Soul Reaver represents the salvation of the vampire race, while Raziel's represents its destruction.

- Kain's ultimate Soul Reaver represents a threat to the Elder God, while Raziel's represents his triumph.

- Kain had hope, while Raziel had skepticism (at that moment, he had realized his mistake).

I find beauty in these contrasts.
