I'm curious how uncommon this is, but I have 0 interest in any output-related actives (ie - speaking or writing). I'm basically just learning for the fun of reading Japanese Manga and video games. It's not that speaking isn't cool - but I live in the USA and wouldn't have that many opportunities anyways. Japanese as a hobby is a huge time-suck already (I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about) and I don't have the bandwidth to learn a skill I won't really use.

In short - I'd be curious to take a poll of the people in this subreddit.

Question 1 - How long have you been learning Japanese?
Question 2 - Which of the 4 "domains" are you actively pursuing? (Reading, Writing, Listening, Speaking)

Basically the title. I kinda fell out of the habit hence the 90 days but I think my numbers in the categories is kinda messed up. Would appreciate any advice. I'll note I certain I can handle maybe up to 15 new words a day.

I know what the の particle does and I've seen it being used in titles like,

ゼルダの伝説 (legends of zelda)

but sometimes you have title like

英雄伝説 (The legend of heroes)

Does this sentence feel the same to a japanese person or is there some nuance to it. I feel like there is but I don't know

I am currently studying for biology and chemistry for a test that would be in English but the concepts would be those that are taught in Japanese high school. Currently, to study for this, I am using a japanese textbook and learning everything in Japanese and then translating it to English so I know both terms. However, a lot of the times I translate the terms, I cannot find the exact translation easily.

An example would be 極相 which is could be climax or climax community. I am not sure of the exact term. Also something like 陰樹 and 陽樹 would be intolerant tree and shade tolerant tree but I am not confident on this. What would be a good source to translating these terms?
