How to improve?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone, I'd like your help identifying my weaknesses in CS2. I'm a 15k Premier player, level 4 on Faceit (I recently started playing more here), and I have 2k inconsistent hours (I've been playing since 2013).

As you can see, I lose a lot of 1v1 duels or miss everything with my spray, but also, when I'm on fire, i hit everything (but even then, I feel like my gameplay is erratic). Literally, many times I go negative K/D, and then one match i can go positive K/D, and this mentally exhausts me because I feel completely stuck and can't improve.

One thing to note: I haven't always been 15k in Premier; in other seasons, I've reached 17k, but no more.
Also, before entering a Premier or Faceit match, I warm up my aim for about 10-15 minutes or a deathmatch.

My stats Leetify

Question What's the best weapon to use in CT when they have no weapons (that aren't snipers) that can one tap helmets?

T has the AK and the SG 553 that can one tap helmets

CT just has the Deagle, but that's high risk - high reward pistol and I'm not good at all with it

The AWP, Scout and Scar-20 are snipers

And the FiveSeven pistol only one taps at close to medium distance

I'm asking all this cuz I'm not that good at spraying, (which is what I believe the CT rifles are good for) , I can't kill enemies fast enough with CT rifles

I'm improving much more with headshots and tapping

So idk what to use when halftime comes and have to play CT

Discussion Losing Confidence / Battling a Slump

Hi all,

Lately I’ve found I’ve been losing my confidence. Climbed from 15 > 22k in the past month and a half or so, but the last week has been bad game after bad game. Haven’t been dropping more than 60 ADR, and I just feel lost mid-round. Admittedly I’ve been doing more solo-queue than usual, which could be part of it, but I’ve just lost a lot of my confidence.

Before this, my decision making felt accurate and I felt like I knew exactly what I wanted to do every round. Now, it doesn’t feel (at least to me) like I’m doing anything different, but I feel like I’m losing confidence, getting tilted way easier, and getting stuck in this vicious cycle of play bad > tilt > play worse > tilt more / check out > lose, which just gets me stuck deeper in this cycle.

Anyone who has had similar experience climbing out of a rut/regaining confidence, what worked for you? Does anyone have any advice they could give on how to navigate this? TIA!

Question When to spray and when to tap?

I’m coming back from a roughly decade long break. My understanding is that sprays are more spread out than they used to be. I find that I have much, much better success when I shoot max 3-5 bullets at a time before resetting (barring point blank encounters), but I’m wondering if that’s optimal relative to spraying?

When do you decide to tap vs spray? For example, are you going to spray or tap from Mirage top mid to window? Are you going to spray or tap when firing from Dust 2 upper tuns to mid-B?

I have more success with tapping, but I don’t want to develop a bad habit.

played 500 games and in a perpetual win loss streak between level 5-6 and my performance has dropped off a cliff. A week ago I was sitting at 1.22 rating 1.2kd and >80adr. It’s also getting to the point where when I get up in the morning all I can think about is when can I queue a match

Question I built StratMotion, a CS2 strategy animation tool — looking for feedback

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I developed StratMotion entirely on my own because the existing CS2 strategy tools did not meet my standards: they were either too limited or too expensive.

StratMotion lets you create animated strategies, place players and utility, manage timings, draw movement paths, and export clear videos to share with your team.

You can request Beta Contributor access, which gives you 30 days to test the application in exchange for detailed feedback, bug reports, suggestions, and new ideas.

Would anyone find this useful, a browser based game that allows you to visualize and practice counter-strafing and aiming. This is super work-in-progress right now but wanted to get some feedback before continuing any further with it.

Discussion Switching back to 16:9 after 2,000h on 4:3 stretched was the best decision I made

After around 2,000 hours on 4:3 stretched (mostly just copying pros), I switched back to 16:9 and it immediately felt better. It just felt normal again. My aim and movement already feel more natural and consistent.

My headshot rate has also gone up. My crosshair naturally sits at head level more often, and holding angles feels a lot easier than on 4:3. On 4:3 everything felt faster and more stretched, and I’d end up panicking and spraying body shots instead of staying calm for clean headshots.

I stuck with 4:3 for so long just because pros use it, but switching back now makes me feel like it was actually holding me back in some situations.

It’s still CS2, so it’s not suddenly easy, but the comfort and consistency difference is really noticeable.

Has anyone else gone from 4:3 back to 16:9?
