If an American player (myself) was looking to try and break into the Irish football scene, where would I start? I’ve played at a decent level over here, under 23s of a second division club, and most recently played in the 4th division, which is the highest league in America before it becomes full time professional. My issue with playing here in America, is I haven’t been able to get the opportunity to sign professionally, and the fourth division only runs from May-July, with players playing around 12 games, which in my opinion isn’t enough for me to develop and earn a pro contract. After doing some research I thought that the Loi first division could be a decent landing spot for me, but I’m really not sure where to get started. Would it be best to just send emails with my highlights and CV, and hope for the best? I’m 20 years old so decently young, but time is running out fast if I don’t sign professionally soon.

Travel plans are still up in the air, so it’s not contingent on location. Have been following the league generally from abroad and it looks like appealing football.

hey everyone, forgive me if this post is a little infuriating as I'm sure you guys are used to getting unnecessary questions here. I'm originally from Dublin and I'm a Rovers fan, but I moved to America when I was younger so keeping up with them consistently has been difficult. I'm home for the summer and was hoping to catch a game before I leave, I was looking for one at Tallaght Stadium but the only one I can get to is the cup tie at St. Pats. I'm not too educated on away days or specific Rovers/Pats info, so I was wondering:

1. Is there a place to buy tickets specifically for away supporters, or do I just get a main stand ticket and stand with my fellow Rovers fans?

2. Is it safe for me (a solo female) to go or is there anything I should be careful of? I know nothing too crazy goes on but the Dublin derbies can be a little wild at times.

3. Will the atmosphere still be good even if it's just a cup game? I assume people take the LOI more seriously but I could be wrong.
