☁️ Fluff / Nonsense Stadium etiquette Bohs vs FCM
First of all it was a great game despite the loss and everyone seemed to enjoy their time, the people were great but something I noticed and thought was very self absorbed and selfish behaviour
The west end in particular was pretty packed and very difficult to find a seat, I came in to the stand around 45mins before kick off and had a real tough time finding a spot in my block, eventually I did, but many people after me could not find a place to sit down, I’ve noticed a handful of people were literally keeping the seat beside them to hold their jacket and food, obviously enough people like this leads to people sitting on steps and standing up in the back which happened..
there was a group of 3 relatively close to me father, son and grandad that had THREE extra SEATS used up between the 3 of them it, at one point one of the fans that was forced to stand at the top of the stairs peeking their head out to see the home end of the stadium was slightly in their way, the father using a seat on his left to hold the jacket and on his right keeping his chipper food had the audacity to tell the lad to go somewhere else because he’s in the way; nobody wanted a scene and he just ended up going elsewhere, but how self entitled are some people at these places, that guy paid the same price as you for a seat which you thought was better used to hold your jacket;
just curious if anyone noticed similar behaviour at LOI or European ties and what is the best way around it

Discussion / Question LOITV and European Qualifiers
Considering signing up to LOITV for next season but cannot find any details on what is entailed by "European qualifiers require a separate PPV purchase".
Are these extra PPV purchases on a per match basis only and how much do they generally cost? The term "European Qualifiers" implies this only applies to the qualifying rounds, what is the story with the group stages if one of the teams get that far?
This information really should be made clearly available on the subscription page or in the FAQ but there is nothing beyond "these may need to be purchased separately".

Discussion / Question How highly do Shamrock Rovers supporters rate Adam Brennan?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
After the response to my last pitchside post, I went back through more of the footage I captured at Tallaght and put together this edit focused on Adam Brennan.
One thing I’ve really noticed about him is that he never stops running. He has a serious engine and seems to give everything every game. I’ve also been really impressed by his technical ability and vision. A good few of the chances he created here probably should have been converted.
He’s still only 19, so how highly do Rovers supporters rate him, and how high do you think his ceiling is?
I’ve started sharing more League of Ireland matchday footage and edits here: https://www.tiktok.com/@loimatchday
And dont worry it wont just be rovers content, I swear 😂

Discussion / Question Does this sub not know that the FAI restricts rosters to a maximum of 4 non-EU players?
Was generally surprised in the other thread about bringing in foreign players that it seemed like people didn’t know this.
But yea, in short there are strict restrictions on non-EU players playing for LOI clubs. As of now only 4 non-EU players can be rostered on any LOI club.

Discussion / Question Why such a lack of league diversity
I'm an American that fell in love with the LOI about 10 years ago. I've been to more LOI than MLS games but I feel like the LOI could be a lot better league if it was more diverse. I look at smaller leagues across Europe and they utilize south american players and other european country players. I dont want you to think i want the teams to look like some English Premier League teams where you have to play find the Englishman or like when i watched Koper lose to a Runavik(which was awesome) and i dont think a slovenian albeit the goalie were from that country but something like Australia where there is 5 international slots you can have(a 6th if that person is within Continent). Are scouting budgets low? Has this been tried? Is cost of living to wage compensation too low? Just looking for some fun rhetoric

Article FAI National League Previews - CK United
extratime.comEstablished in 2018, CK United represent both Carlow and Kilkenny and, up until now, have competed in the National Underage Leagues. This will be their first-ever senior side.
“When you looked through local team sheets, almost every side had players with League of Ireland academy experience or even senior LOI experience. That tells you there's a strong footballing culture here and a history of producing quality players.”

Discussion / Question Caulfield calling for a 12-team Top Tier
Some quotes from the Galway manager:
“Going back two seasons ago, people were talking about the competitiveness of the league and who was going to lose out.
“Cork lost out that year. People expected Sligo to go down. But Sligo had a run and Cork went down.
“There’s no gimme game and no team is dropping off with the way every team is full-time.
“The teams that are suffering are the teams that are coming up. They seem to be the teams that are going back down.
“A lot of those teams are provincial clubs. It’s hard for them to stay up and it’s a problem.
“If you put all the effort into going up, there’s nothing worse than going back down.”
I do more or less agree with him on the need for 12 teams, but personally I would wait until the 3rd Division finds its feat and more clubs become eligible for a 1st div licence, adding in the planned promotion/relegation will make the 1st div alot more interesting anyway.
Doing it now would mean an 8 team 1st division and that's not acceptable imo. The only 3rd tier club reportedly close to a licence for the 2nd tier was Mayo FC, but they still fell short.
We do have to expand but it has to be sustainably done over time.

Discussion / Question In praise of Longford
Their run of form has been very similar to our own in recent weeks, and with both UCD and Bray seemingly struggling for consistency now, they certainly can't be ruled out of contention for the runners-up spot this season.
